  1. If Raleigh hits 63 home runs, he can have MVP. MVP in every sport is determined by stats and narrative. Judge clearly has the stats as shown above. If Raleigh can surpass Judge’s AL home run record, that’s a strong enough narrative to win the MVP. Just being the first catcher to hit 60 home runs shouldn’t be good enough.

  2. The only argument one can make is that Judge got injured and missed too much time. Otherwise it makes no sense to not give him MVP.

  3. Not to change the subject

But dear God, I hope the Yankees go after Bo in the off-season. They probably won’t, but it would be great to finally have a real offensive caliber starting shortstop.

  4. Imagine saying it’s Raleigh and it’s not even close.

Those are the fucks tou have to just laugh and walk away and ignore.

Like wtf are you smoking ?!

  5. What’s with his negative defensive WAR? Raleigh’s not really there either. Just surprised to see Judge has a slight negative there?

  6. The main argument is it’s 60hr season but it’s not the first time someone hit over 60hr and didn’t win the mvp. Honestly he’s lacking in too many areas for it to be close.

  7. .457 obp is insane.

basically a 1/2 chance he’s getting on base lmao and a 1/3 chance he’s getting a hit when pitchers avoid him on purpose and throw him balls most of the time.

  8. I was looking at the strikeout leaderboards today and all the 50 HR guys (Raleigh, Schwarber, Ohtani, even Suarez) are in the top 10 for most K’s. They’ve all struck out at least 184 times.

Judge isn’t even in the top 25, with a full 25 fewer K’s than the others. Way more walks too.

  9. Anyone see that recent mlb.com article saying that defensive metrics are wrong and Raleigh should have a WAY higher mvp? Lmao

Even professional writers are just fucking dying for reasons to vote for him.

  10. Mouth breathers and haters, that’s all. It’s the same situation as with Lebron a decade ago with the MVP talks. It was always “ok so we KNOW Lebron is by FAR the best player in the league, but let’s try to argue for someone else’s MVP case every year because giving it to LeBron every year would be ‘boring’”.

  11. Judge had over 50 homeruns. He’s not too far behind Cal in that category. I don’t know why this is even a debate unless you’re a Yankees hater and can’t stand to see Judge get another MVP

  12. Every year Judge plays enough games to qualify he is the MVP, no matter what voters say.  He is the best non roided hitter in anyone’s lifetime.

  13. He is MVP if judge was having a shit season but had 60 hr yall would still give it to him and I think that’s bullshit bc he plays in the one park where home runs are to easy for him bc yankee stadium has there walls at 318 and 314 on corners and he’s a pull hitter so no shit he’s gonna have a high battin avg and a shitload of HR but cal is more deserving he helped his team win the division he’s OBVIOUSLY the MVP in the league judge will win Hank Aaron award for being the most dominant OFFENSIVE player but cal was definitely the more valuable player for his teams success and the year

  14. Any other year? Hell yeah, Raleigh would be. His numbers are historic. But Judge is still on another planet, on the same echelon as the likes of Ruth, Bonds, Gehrig, Mantle, Foxx, Williams, you name it,

  15. Judge should win:

When Judge wins the batting title and hits 50+ HRs, he’d join only two other players in history to win the batting title and hit 50+ HRs in a season. Historic company:

Jimmie Foxx, Mickey Mantle, Aaron Judge

    There should be no debate.

  16. By every sane argument, Judge is the MVP. But, holy molly, it seems like every sports broadcaster is going out of their way to try to justify Cal getting the MVP. One justified it because Cal’s “narrative” is so cool. WTHeck does the narrative have to do with playing baseball at a high level and great importance to your team? Another broadcaster cherry picked a couple stats he invented to make Cal look as legit as possible. He also argued that Judge having an average about 80 points higher than Cal was not that big a deal. On and on from different “experts.” I know we live in crazy times, and I understand that it’s too bad that Cal plays in the same league as one of the greatest players of this generation. But please media, STOP THE MADNESS, and don’t make the same mistake when you awarded the MVP to the Little Cheating Man from Houston instead of Judge because being a Little Man was such a nice narrative.

  17. Judge should be MVP. Just don’t post shit like this if you’re going to complain about the 2017 vote.

  18. It’s not even really a question.

Give Raleigh another award. I dunno. He deserves to be celebrated.

But you ask someone who is the most valuable player in baseball – one player in the American League you would want on your team.

You get first pick and you’re picking teams like when you’re a kid. Aaron Judge is right there and you say I got Cal.
