Do you think Bosa will bounce back again?

  1. Have to admit at this point these are not freak injuries and he’s injury prone. It will happen again.

  2. Probably not, especially since its a clean tear. Carolina LB Thomas Davis tore his right ACL 3 times and played 15 years. Also made his first AP all pro after the third ACL tear.

Nick will be fine. We wish him a sound mind through rehab and strong recovery!

  3. High intensity player at high impact
Position that suffers from cut blocks and low blocks that constantly put him in injury risk danger? Yeah, he’s going to have more wear and tear than a lot of players his age at less physical roles.

7 years is a long career in the NFL. I’d keep an eye on trades. Unfortunately it would have to be after it heals. I don’t know what teams would want to risk picks on questionable ability to return at 100%.

Maybe someone would take a chance on him while he’s hurt/recovering… depending on how that recovery is going. Take the picks and put them into a new early round edge rusher or two or three. I think a rotation of young players makes more sense than a grizzled veteran anyways. I liked when this team took DL players early and often (like last draft).

  4. Now do this for any professional athlete. Injuries are a part of football. The constant dooming is boring.

  5. The Bosa Bros either due to how they use their body or genetics just seem to be more likely to get injured. nick will likely be fine when he comes back but you just start to wonder when the next big injury will hit.

  6. If they resign him after this contract – I think it’s fair that it’ll be way lower than what he’s making now – the bosa bros can’t stay healthy

  7. Nope. The effect just one ACL tear has can’t be overstated, let alone 3. Add age to the mix and it is very reasonable to suggest he will not be near what he was at his peak when he comes back.

  8. That’s why they have insurance policies.

But let him play out his contact and move on.

Hopefully Mykel grows into a stud

  9. He plays out the rest of his contract. Better start looking for a replacement in the upcoming drafts.

  10. I wouldn’t give him an extension. Next year they’ll be looking for his replacement, probably as soon as the trade deadline. At a point you can’t rely on guys that get hurt like this

  11. Nick Bosa is a top 5 pass rusher so he’s unlikely to totally fall off a cliff, but he’ll probably never be someone you can count on to play most of a season consistently. Joey dropped off a lot once he started getting injured around the same age, but I think Nick is better and I would probably expect him to end his career similar to JJ Watt who started having injuries back half of his career.

He’s about to be 28 in a few weeks, a year recovering from ACL, then time to round back into form he’ll be approaching 30 with a long injury history with both ACLs. He probably won’t be playing in 5 years. Maybe one more great season out of him if he can play a full slate after he’s back to playing form in a couple of seasons.

  12. He will bounce back, but the real question is will he be worth extending when he comes back?
The family has shown a history of injuries
