There’s no doubt that JJ McCarthy has looked terrible during the first couple of weeks, but also you got to remember this guy was a developmental prospect. You didn’t take him like the Falcons took Michael Penn where he is 25 years old. He is more ready to play right now in the NFL compared to JJ. Jaden Daniels, an older prospect. He is more ready to play than JJ. Same with Bo Nicks. So, yes, he has looked bad. He has not played good football, but he had a lot working against him. He still didn’t have Jordan Addison. No Christian Darasol. Lost his starting center. 22 years old. Second career start. He just became a dad a couple of days ago and had to miss a whole practice. So, if you’re kicking tires on JJ McCarthy, I disagree with the take. He’s going to bounce back. He’s going to learn from this. And what if this is just what we needed? We need to be humbled a little bit. This offense needs to get back in the lab and improve and specifically the quarterback. But I got full faith in this guy bouncing back.

I'm not blaming JJ, I'm blaming the idea of letting Darnold and Rodgers get away and putting all the marbles on someone who has never played in the NFL. History has shown that the great majority of rookie qb's take a while to develop. The time to play them to get them experience, is when the season or game has already been won or lost. Not starting them in game one.

Why did the vikings sign a bunch of defensive veterans and try to bolster offensive line then. It's a waste of money if trying to be patient for a player that was on a stacked team in college.

That offense is dogsh!t. It's not like he came straight out of college a few months ago. He's been in the building for 18 months. If the OLine is banged up..draw plays to get the ball out quicker. Quick routes. But his decision making is slow. His release is slow. He looks lost. Online or not he shouldn't look lost in this offense in his second year.

Wentz has a chance for a revival, let him start the rest of the year, give JJ a full healthy year to practice and learn, year 3 will be drastically different. We are a SB contender though, and JJ is definitely the reason we won't win

I agree with all of that , but he was not a project.. he was picked to be our franchise QB… thee guy … now of course he is suppose to get better game after game year after year but that is not true.

He also hasn’t played with a healthy O-line. With darrisaw back he may actually be able to make something happen. Just look how dominant he was with wentz

I feel like every single season, we're waiting on darrisaw to come back. Dudes injury prone.. I've been hearing about his injury and status update every single week for the last 2 years it feels like.. as a die hard and life long vikings fan, I know least about this man.
