Chris Grier Reflects On State Of Miami Dolphins As Roster Is Set | Reveals Heinous Email Sent To Him
Hey, welcome on in guys. Tobin here with you and thanks for checking out the channel. Hope you’re doing well there. If you guys could subscribe, that’d be great and appreciate you stopping by. I was uh boots on the ground today at the fighter meetings at Dirty Boxing 3. I’m going to be on the call for Dirty Boxing Championship. Uh Dirty Boxing 3 is coming your way on Friday, 7:30 live on YouTube on their channel. So, go check that out. Go support your boy Tobes if you guys don’t mind. Living the dream, having a great time. Uh, it’s a banger of a card. A lot of good It’s a good mix of like UFC, former UFC veterans and some really like spicy good young talent. The I’m telling you this, first of all, it’s got two things that fight fans should like. It moves fast. It’s three three-minute rounds outside of the championship fight, which is three five three minute rounds. Um, and it’s all striking, upper body striking. It’s it’s it’s basically fists, elbows, spinning elbows, uh, and you could follow up. There’s ground and pound. It’s uh it it is really really cool. I’ve had a blast calling these last two fights. Uh, doing it with my boy Jason Anick, Platinum Mike Perry, who’s the chief violence officer. It’s oodles of fun. So, I would recommend checking that out on Friday night. Uh, in the meanwhile, while I was in the midst of uh doing fighter interviews today, I had a lot of notifications. Boop boop boop boop hit my phone as uh you know transactions were coming in left to right. didn’t even feel, you know, worthy of doing. I didn’t feel fantastic yesterday, but I didn’t even feel worthy of doing anything on the 53man roster because you kind of knew it was going to change. Like, I think everybody looked at it and they’re like, “Oh, yeah, Cam Smith, he made the 53.” And then you find out today he’s going on non-OOT injury and you’re just like, “Very good. Okay, cool. Well, you know, can’t believe I got my uh my hopes up for like two seconds that things are turning around the last couple of weeks, but there you go. it uh it appears that’s where we’re at right now and uh it’s uh it is what it is. That just it seems like this is where we’re at. But the Miami Dolphins appeared to have gotten to their practice squad and there was a couple things that are surprising. They uh they are going to bring Jeff Wilson back. He was released, but you know that he is like a Mike McDaniel favorite. That is Mike McDaniel’s guy. And so he is now back with the Miami Dolphins. Good insurance policy you would think for the Dolphins having themselves a need at running back and so he is going to end up on the Miami Dolphins practice squad. They of course can elevate him while they’re figuring things out with Jaylen Wright. They also signed Kendall Lamb. Kendall Lamb has been signed to the Miami Dolphins. So, a much needed boost to the depth of the offensive line. Uh Chris Greer revealed that in the midst of their whole thing. He says that he’s physically fine. Know that he’s been dealing with a back thing. So, he is also back. So, two old friends are coming back for the Miami Dolphins. Uh I saw that Eric Zukama ended up in Jacksonville. Mo Kamar ended up in Tampa Bay. And as far as the health status is concerned, Austin Jackson said today, “Good to go. absolutely ready to rock. Devonte Chan, according to Chris Ger, is going to be ready, but apparently didn’t practice. Neither did Tyreek Hill. Darren Waller is participating. He says that he feels he’s it’s looking good for him to play week one. We’ll see. And then the Dolphins also signed this tight end, uh, Greg Dulich, who apparently had a monster preseason. I don’t know much about him, but I know a lot of people are fired up because the Dolphins obviously have a need at tight end and he uh you know may have an opportunity there. Seems like he’s going to take away my Julian Hill anytime touchdowns, but that’s okay. I was losing those bets anyway. It really doesn’t matter. Chris Greer uh also revealed some things in his press conference today. Spoke for about 30 minutes today and I didn’t think it was too earthshatter outside of the way it ended. It ended pretty uh Chris Greer just kind of left a bomb in in everybody’s lap because he was asked about uh he was asked about the relationship that he has with fans. And obviously I mean it sure I’m sure it’s not great. I mean he’s not letting it be known that in person anybody is uh being awful to him, but he did reveal that people have emailed him pretty awful things. Um he said uh question about your interaction with fans. I think I might asked you last year that you share that you got a t-shirt. Your interaction with fans has it been more frustration more optimism? He says I haven’t really had many interactions with fans. Uh when I see guys they’re like hey or if I’m out people are always more respectful and nice. They just say hey keep going appreciate you. To my face they’ve been nice. I know that people are upset. Uh but that’s any job. If I was comfortable and I said I feel great about where things are, then I’m an and I’m not realistic about where we are as a team uh and where things are going after last season. So, I’m frustrated just like they are that we didn’t win enough games. I understand it. Like I said, I don’t take these things personally when I’m out. Genuinely very positive and stuff to me. I know I’ve gotten some colorful emails, a couple people, including uh hoping that my kids die of cancer, which was a fun one. I was like, there you go. That’s why I don’t take these things personally are real because people have other issues and stuff in life. Pretty brutal. That’s a pretty I mean it’s a really really uh up thing to send to Chris Greer. Uh it’s unfortunate that you know people that get that crazy and loose and willy-nilly with their stuff online um you know crazy. I mean, it really is like I couldn’t imagine putting anything that like awful on text, you know, let alone say it to somebody, but the uh the idea that you would just be like, “Yeah, I’m going to throw this out.” Like, look, do I think Chris Greer has done a bangup job and is awesome? No. I mean, I think we all have our quibbles about the way that the guy is. The guy seems like he handles himself all uh with a lot of class. um can’t you know that that I think is has been pretty clear it’s but man it’s it’s crazy that people would like you know what I need to do I need to I need to drop this email on Chris Greer and just be like that that’s how much I hate that I think I think he I think there’s so many other ways that are not uh awful that you could if you happen to get Chris Greer’s email I think you could do it in a much more um productive manner than that kind of heinous act that somebody’s doing. But, you know, that’s uh that’s that that that uh that was that was uh crappy to hear here today from Chris Greer. He did uh talk a lot about the uh the leadership changes and where things are. and he talked a lot about the the culture in the locker room and how it is a lot better and the guys that they’ve gotten there and talked a lot about, you know, Jordan Brooks and uh Aaron Brewer taking a big- time leadership role with the organization and them having to reset their money because he did admit like, look, we spent some big, it didn’t work out. You kind of have to reset things. You can’t just continue to do it forever. So explained, he didn’t say that there was any mandate, not that he would from Stephen Ross that you can’t spend as much. I think it’s I think everybody I think it’s pretty obvious why the Dolphins are where they are right now. Um they took some big swings. It did not pay off and especially the window a couple of years ago that was kind of their sweet spot to get it done right before you had to pay to a tongue of Aloa and then last year everybody getting paid in it kind of blown up in their face went awful. So yeah, it was pretty clear why they are where they are. But I do think that you see a draft class that is uh pretty proud of it. Uh that is uh pretty looking pretty prominent right now. So I think that that’s exciting and and gets you excited for the season. It’s just a matter of any youth movement. I talked about this a little bit earlier in the week about like can that give you enough for people to save their jobs. Now I’m of the belief I don’t think Chris is going to lose his job. I think if anybody’s going to lose their job, I think it’s going to be Mike McDaniel. I don’t think this is going to be a clean house situation. It’s just not how Steven Ross acts. He’s not a cleanhouse type of guy. Um, but really uh really uh this team and them trying to fix things. It was uh it was interesting. He let it be known today that the Panthers, Bill Zitto and Matthew Kachchuck visited the team and that Matthew Kachchuck apparently like gave them just a I guess some words about just how important locker room culture is and them all getting along and them having to uh to to buy into one another. And so he uh he was just mentioning that like he really like thought that that was a important thing. That Panthers team loves each other. And it, look, I don’t know how many people have followed the Panthers as much as the Dolphins cuz I just know people are football sickos and that’s the heritage team in town. And the Panthers are this new success story even though they went through, you know, a generation of misery. The the Dolphins have been through generations of misery right now. And but the Panthers were very much like the the 2023 Miami Dolphins a couple of years ago, like running and gun. Every game felt like it was it was awesome. It was like every game a couple years ago when they won the President’s Trophy, everybody remembers how they were disappointing in the playoffs and they got snuffed out by Tampa, which was true, but that season was like hockey on drugs because every game if they were down 4-1, it didn’t matter. The Panthers were going to come back and they were going to win that game. So every game literally felt like it didn’t matter the score, the Panthers could come back and win. The problem is once you get to playoff hockey, it just doesn’t work the same. The game can get slowed down too much. It’s played cleaner. There’s less bull bleep and it just wasn’t sustainable. And so the Panthers obviously made this big switch and Matthew Kachchuck is like Bill Zto’s unicorn that he likes to parade around because he was the tone setter. You know, Alexander Barkov had a lot of the things where right now he’s a generational legendary Panther. There was a lot of frustrations with people that this guy, he’s too quiet, he’s too respectful, he’s not a rah rah guy, he doesn’t have that dog in him. Um, and I even remember like being at Matthew J’s intro press conference of like, no, I’m I’m going to lead in a different way than Barky does. And I think it honestly made Bararkov an even better leader because now he’s got this guy with him. Um, and obviously the Panthers are just a a talent juggernaut with just so much firepower. There’s no team like them that’s this deep. And then of course you have a legend Sergey Babroski who’s gone through his own renaissance along the Panthers championship runs as well where everybody thought that he was this giant albatross guillotine hanging over the cap. So, those are other things the that I even think that Chris Greer can take is that you can find the pieces you really care about on this team that can really anchor this team in the right way and turn the culture around and then guys you do think are about winning but get the hell about it. Uh like Tua, you know, maybe you could put him in the right place. He did. He was eusive in his praise today of Tyreek Hill and he was just like couldn’t be better closer with his teammates than ever. Some cynical people would say like is he just doing that to keep up appearances and keep trade value high? Perhaps. I can’t rule that out, but I do think that it seems like things are at a good spot with Tyreek that uh will at least get us into the season nice and normal. Um, and then as Jordan Brooks said, like he had some like Jordan Brooks had some like really goosey things to say about like this has been one of the hardest camps and Mike McDaniel made this hard and so like and again the cynic bastard can be like, “Oh yeah, yeah, yeah. Well, he want probably wants a new contract from the Dolphins. He knows he’s on his way to be one of the I get it, dude. You literally, you could say that. I get it. We could be cynics about everything, but I thought it was pretty cool. I don’t think And I also don’t think Jordan Brooks is a is is a bull leaper. I think that he is a guy who keeps uh you know, who who likes to to keep things as they are and we’ll just say them as they are. That’s why he calls his team out soft when they were soft. Um, and he does seem like one of the guys that’s like a tone setter in the right way for this franchise.

TDPhinstalk and #1FINSFAN were definitely among the ones that sent the emails
Worst run franchise in the NFL. Reset will occur when Ross strokes out.
Ross should refund ticket holders
Fins up for life!
Seems like Damien Martinez RB would be better than Rick Wilson
We might as well be owned by CHINA
Glad they paid Waddle.
I dont like Grier myself, but whoever send him that text may God rot your corpse in Rat Piss.. why bring the man kids.
I think Chris Grier has been doing a great job. It's our coaches job to make the players mean and physical like the eagles.
we're still more worried about the o-line than our bozo GM Chris Grier is
I have my doubts and complaints about this team, but I’m so tired of toxic fans.
Grier absolutely can NOT get a 4th head coach to work with! Even the biggest false hope consumers wouldn’t buy into that. Grier and McDaniel both have to go!
Maybe we produce results this year since the entire fanbase is fed up. I’m not holding my breath. Mcdaniel is the substitute teacher that can't gain control of his classroom right now. Chris Grier is the principle that may or may not see the problem but hopes that it fixes itself and Stephen Ross is the superintendent that has endless amounts of money but probably has no clue what the hell he is watching on Sunday and needs an assistant to tell him what the hell a touchdown is.
(A) Fire McDaniel (B) Fire Grier. (C) Ross sell the team
