“But as players, this is a business. You gotta do what you gotta do as an individual to take care of yourself and your family. So just like it happened the last couple of times I’ve been here, it’s the same thing. I don’t blame anybody. I think we’re here with what we have, and I also don’t blame those guys who wanted to take care of themselves. That’s the right play. That’s what I would do if I was in that situation, too.” — Joel Embiiid

  1. I’m not against any player, or even any person trying to make the most they can so long as they put the same effort in before they got their new contract/salary.

Embiid deserved his extension because the man will go out on one leg and eye and still drop 25/10 on people.

People like Paul George or Ben Simmons? That’s where it gets irritating. They clearly play hard enough for a contract then kinda coast off or stop trying entirely.

  2. I think Grimes gotta do what he gotta do and the team has to as well. This is just a regular negotiation to me and not like the kuminga situation where it’s obviously deeper stuff happening beyond just the contract.

Grimes will be on the team this year tho and hopefully helps us win some games

  3. I think most people see both sides of it. Sixers gotta try to get a team friendly deal and seemingly have no competition for his services. Grimes has to try to get his bag. Hopefully there’s a quick resolution that both sides will like.

  4. I get that it’s frustrating to see this holdout play out, but I just can’t wrap my head around the team only offering deals of around a 9-10M AAV, at least if the previous report is to be believed.
