Aaron Rodgers PREVIEWS Steelers vs Vikings in Dublin and discusses life as a Steeler 💭

Aaron, obviously you knew everyone knows about the Pittsburgh Steelers, but now you’ve put on the black and gold, you’ve seen the terrible towels. What’s that been like? It’s been great. I mean, it’s a great organization. Uh has a history of excellence going back to the history of the league. I mean, I played for the team uh that was part of the 60s, you know, that were in the 60s. Had the legacy. I mean, a little bit before that, too. go back to 1919, but the 60s Packers, the 70s Steelers and those great teams with so many Hall of Famers, the Terry Bradshaw, Lyn Swans, Stalworth, Me and Joe Green, on down on down the list. So, it’s pretty special to be a part of an organization like this. And then, you know, be with Mike T, who is the longest tenure coach in the league. Yeah. Which is so rare now, I think, in in the NFL. And, uh, you know, great ownership, incredible fan base that travels well. I mean, the first week being in New York and just seeing the terrible towels in the game was pretty special. I’m glad you mentioned that. I was there at that game and there was it was like a cauldron. Everything was going crazy. You just thrown I think your fourth touchdown pass. Maybe I’m overromanticizing this, but you sat on the bench. You kind of looked around smiling. You’re enjoying it, right? I was. Yeah, I was. I mean, because at that point, the crowd was getting really loud and I was looking back going, “Man, this is cool. This reminds me of Green Bay when we would go on the road and it’d be a tight game and our fans would like bring the noise to where the offense almost had to go on a silent count cuz it was so loud. I was looking back going, “Man, there’s so many Pittsburgh people here. I love this. This is amazing.” Of course, you knew Mike Tomlin. Everyone knows Mike Tomlin and what he stands for. But now you’ve been with him day in and day out, week in week out in the meetings on the field. Anything different? What’s your kind of takeaways of coach? Well, you know, they some of the greatest coaches in all sports, there’s an element of being a player’s coach, and that’s talked about a lot. Um, but I think Mike really exemplifies what that means, and that’s first and foremost, it doesn’t mean you’re buddies with everybody. I think I think the great player coaches, uh, they lead with accountability first. So, they’re able to hold everybody accountable. And that’s, uh, that happens because of the relationships that he has with the guys. So, it starts with accountability and respect. Uh, and it’s through the relationship, the personal relationships that he’s able to get the most out of guys. So, he is a player’s coach, but he’s not a pushover by any means. I mean, Mike T is the final gavvel in in any conversation. So, uh, it’s been a pleasure working with him. I mean, he’s such a great uh, great human being and I’ve just loved my my few months. Last one. It’s going to mean a lot to a lot of people when you run out of that tunnel at Croak Park in Dublin, Ireland on Sunday. What’s it going to mean to Aaron Rogers? Well, I have a lot of love for this country. Uh I have uh genealogy that dates back to uh relatives on my on my mom’s side from Ireland and Scotland. Um I’ve always just kind of had a fascination with the country. Um, I’ve known being a lover of history about the geopolitical issues uh and the sentiment around uh, you know, certain neighboring uh, areas, but I’ve just always enjoyed kind of the culture. I’ve for the last 10 years or so. Strictly for the most part, if I drink beer, which I don’t often, I will drink Guinness. That’s it’s a true true story. Guinness on tap is my favorite beer. Supposedly, it’s much better over here. So, I’m looking forward to enjoying one or two or three tonight. But, um, it means a lot to be a part of, uh, the NFL now where there’s such a global reach. Before it was just really the Super Bowl being being, uh, you know, seen in so many different countries. Now, we’re playing games, you know, in South America, in Mexico, uh, in Canada, in Germany, in England, now here. I’m sure there’s expansion to, you know, France and Spain eventually and other countries. And I think it’s just it’s fun to be a part of uh such an incredible sport and see the global reach that it has. We’re going to have fun watching you. Good luck on Sunday. Thank you, buddy.

  1. I like Aaron Rodgers but he is too good of a guy to waste his time on a losing team like Pittsburgh Steelers how do you give Tom and way too much credit for being a good coach
