Incredibly cautious with him all year and he still gets injured at the worst possible time. So very, truly, utterly brutal.
Take my rib Cade
Hopefully Rea stays hot then
this devastating cubs news brought to you by nuveen!
is it retroactive to the game against the mets?
Gonna go do a backflip off sears tower I’ll be right back
That’s pretty devastating for our playoff run.
We can’t have anything nice. Never know with the playoffs, though.
He was on the field an hour ago throwing. Now he has a broken rib 😭
I’m honestly confused at how this all unfolded. Did all the tests, said he was good to return next week and all that. Only to turn around and reveal he had a broken rib? Just confusing and illogical. Were they lying or just messing this whole thing up?
Probably the worse guy to lose this late before playoffs.
Is this like the Ian Happ IR stint, where he came off the bench to hit a HR?
Welcome to being a Cubs fan. I hope this isn’t your first time here. 🫠

This reduces our chances of winning the wild card round tremendously. We really, reallly need Shota to not be a batting tee for us to have a shot now.
Not ideal, but still have Rea, Boyd and Taillon to get us through the wildcard round.
Finally make it back to the postseason and will not have the opening day ace (Steele) or the current ace (Horton).
Might be cooked 💔
Unbelievable… imagine if we had Steele and Horton right now. We’d be as formidable as any team in the NL
Damn can’t catch a break.
Cubs need a come to Jesus moment when it comes to injury management. Seems like they made the wrong decision every single time this season. Someone needs to explain why they were so bad managing the administrative side of injuries this season
Fuuuuuuuu……ck!
I’m looking at the bright side…when the cubs were rolling early, Cade wasn’t up yet. Maybe they find that again?? Seiya getting hot, Tucker coming back? Weird stuff happens In October!! LFG!
