Houston Astros vs Los Angeles Angels – FULL GAME HIGHLIGHTS | September 28, 2025 MLB Season
We have reached the end of this long road here in Southern California. The end of the baseball season, the regular season comes to a conclusion here this afternoon. It’s game 162 and it’s the Los Angeles Angels and the Houston Astros here at Angel Stadium. Really looking comfortable with that second base position, especially with that bat he can provide. Game 162 is underway with ball one to Zack Cole. And there’s a level of disappointment as Aligiri gets strike three. Cole to Cole and a good start for Sam Ali. One away, but they’re playing well, which is always a big thing for the playoffs. Now, they’re believers, that’s for sure. And they’ve got one superstar in Ramirez as Keratini gets hit by a pitch here entering this final day of the season. Here’s a ground ball up the middle and a base hit for Diaz. That’ll bring Dubon to the plate. Over to third base goes Keratini. The Astros take a quick one- nothing lead against the Cubs on Tuesday and Wednesday. Swing and a miss. Sanchez chases that slider from Aligiri. A good slider there from Aligiri on that one. Expected they would not play these guys today as Uriah hits a bouncing ball to Redo and that ends dealing. So Aligiri with a lot of traffic, but only one run given up in the first in Denver for that number 400. And he hits this one pretty hard out to left center back for it at the wall is Cole. It’s long gone. Mike Trout continues his final week dominance. His fifth home run since last Saturday and the Angels are on the board. It’s tied at one and fourth career versus McCuller’s junior. Boy, we talk about Trout and he provides a blast. What a swing for Trout. And the Duke is first. Yes. Then you worry about Mickey and Willie after that. There’s strike three to Adele. Kilos will have a good time and the fans today. Ground ball off the bat of Taylor juggled by Rius and his throw is there in time to win the inning. There goes the runner and the throw down to second. Hit the runner. So Helton steals the base. It’s this one in the air left center. It sends Teodosio back. He’s in position. Runner at second. Not tag. That is in there for strike three. Aliri gets out of more trouble. He’s only on one run despite all the base runners in the first two innings on more. Is Mitch working today? Yes, he’s in there. It’s a fly ball to left center as Zack Cole makes the catch. One out. Go in the future. Frankie. Frankie. It’s a line drive up the middle from Kboom. Second baseman is Matthews making the play to first as Kboom is retired. Two up, two down. PR departments act like secret service agents no more than public relations. But the Angels have a great PR department as we see the third baseman. So he’s fumbled a couple over there today cuz you know how much I love to fly. Here’s a line drive off the bat of Guzman for a base hit. Romero read it well, but he will not take the risk with two outs to go to third. Here’s ball four. So his two out rally continues. Open by the air then a single then a walk. Full count. Base is loaded and Renipo takes strike three. A runner got a head start. Sanchez will easily steal that without a throw. Hit hard. Reno with a sliding pick is throw to first. Scooped out of the net by Kimu. Nice scoop over there too. Well played by the corner infielders. Nice range for by the way with Trout’s game today. 130 games played this season. That’s hit hard but is picked by a sliding. So after some trouble, one ball sit softly his way today. Swing and a miss by Adele. He’s down on strikes. [Music] [Applause] He will not be on the wildard roster according to Dave Roberts. Swinging a miss by Taylor as the inning is over. Ball is hit well out toward left center by Diaz and it is a home run. Diaz continues to sting the Angels. He’s driven in both runs today for Houston. Oh, he’s hit everything hard the last couple games especially. [Applause] [Music] his 20th home run. Here goes the runner. Sanchez just took off while Al Giri was looking at him. That’s bold with a lefties on. Smack down the right field line. A base hit. Smith inside out of that ball and kept it fair. Extra base hit for Smith. See if Angels want to go to their bullpen now. That ball driven out to left. Taylor goes back for it near the wall. It is a home run. Alig Gary unable to get through five here. Raone clubs a two out two run homer. Two home runs in the inning. The strike zone certainly didn’t help out cause. Yeah, you got to come in the strike zone when you’re you have two pitches that are called the ball and next thing you know you got within the strike zone that didn’t go his way. And now Bryce Matthews lifts one out to left. This has hit a long way and that’s gone. Wow. That one a long way out. Matthews, who is one of the top prospects in the Astros system, stands up on one. His fourth big league homer. Cutter to his inside part of the play. He was able to showing some power too. Pretty good ID in the strike zone. Rivera with a throw to second base and that one is in time. So that ends the inning. A swing and a miss there from Guzman for strike three. One out. Well, there is the old Arlington stadium. There’s a bouncing ball to third base handled by Rus 19. Reus who made an error earlier has made some nifty plays since then. What an amazing day this has turned out. It was a lot of clouds early on, but it’s beautiful now. It’s perfect here once again as it often is. There’s a fly ball to center. Tidosia with a chance to go back and it’s not back far enough. That one just carried right out. Keratini sends out the Astros fourth home run in the last two innings. There’s a fly ball to right center field. And this one carries a bit. It did, but it was caught right at the top of the wall. Oh, that would have been out, too. Swinging a miss ends the inning. Gordon with a strike out. There’s a broken back ground ball toward the second base bag. It’s held nicely by Christian Moore. Good throw on the run. Yeah, another small chopper. That’s going to be impossible for Zephr John to make that play. Runner trying to go to third and he’ll make it. Kboom never threw it across the infield. He had time. Immediately takes off and Rivero will not make a throw. Unable to get a handle on it. Swinging a miss by Melton as that ends the inning to do this job. And thank you to all of our crew for making us look good on TV. Um it’s been a blast. So thank you everybody. You did a great job this year. Way to go. I’ll tell you, we do have the best. Keep them. Fly ball to center. Hangs up for Melton with some room. Guzman with a fly ball off the end of his bat to right. This will be a one, two, three. Bottom of the seven. Coming in. Smith with a fly ball here to shallow left center. Taylor lays out with a diving catch. That is another one of those reasons we keep talking about him being a part of this team. Hopefully in 20 ball toward the right field side should stay in play for Adele in fair territory. He has that. We’ll go to the bottom of the ninth. Yankees and Red Sox will square off in New York Tuesday night. A good swing there for Cho Adel. Solid last potential last swing of the 2025 season. Line shot on base the team MVP and here’s Taylor bouncing one into right field. A base hit back to back singles. First two hits for the Angels since the second inning. Going back to Hyundai Kei for the game. That ball hit out toward left center. He’s missed it as Cole makes the catch. Hunters are tagging. Adele will go to third. Taylor will stay to first line to center and Peeburn gets a run batted in. Brings Adele home. It’s six to2 on deck. Three and two leaving a miss. Strike three. And it’s on the outside corner. Strike three. So Ward goes down looking and the 2025 baseball season has come to an end here at Angel Stadium. [Applause]

Astros can win when they have nothing to play for but they cannot win when they have something to Play 4
