QB Tua Tagovailoa meets with the media after #MIAvsBUF | Miami Dolphins

Yeah, that I you know I thought I was in rhythm in timing of the play, seeing the flat defender go over the top of Jaylen. Jaylen’s turning around. Think that was a really good play by by the defender. Um and you know had had some color in my face trying to maneuver the the throw as well. Um, but I 10 out of 10 times if we’re looking at that same thing, you know, I I I think I’ I’d still try to work that timing of of hitting that um that spot. And I I think the the linebacker made a great play on that. Yeah. No moral victories, that’s for sure. Um, there’s definitely some things that we can take away that is good, that’s up to par within our standard of how we operate within the offense. And then, you know, with with how the defense wants to operate as well, getting the stops when they get those stops, we got to capitalize on that and allow ourselves to get points uh when we get those opportunities. Uh so you know never good to never good to to lose um regardless of how a certain individual may have felt they performed. You know this is a team sport. We we win together we lose together. What was going on? Yeah, playing their coverages. Um, trying to get deep, trying to, you know, force us to to take those checkdowns and then seeing if we’re going to stay consistent with taking those checkdowns. Can they sustain taking that with what we’re giving them the entire game or are they going to try to force a shot downfield? What was the opening drive? How did that work? I would I would say it started with the kick return. Started with the kick the kick return. We got good field position and from there just going to work just really focusing on the operation, you know, on a short week. Uh, you know, I I think our guys locked in and and did really well offensively. um you know and and that’s that’s sort of how we want to start every time but then it’s how we c how can we sustain you know those kind of drives throughout the game I got here a little bit late so I’m sorry you as you’re good all week just coming from everywhere it’s hot seat this teams quitting that was there an emphasis this week to prove something from the city I wouldn’t say there there was an emphasis to prove anything to anyone one. Uh, I would say there, you know, there there was a I guess emotion of wanting to to get this thing right for for each other, right? Offensive offensively, defensively, and then in special teams. Um, I I think the the biggest thing as we, you know, kind of looked at at this game is when the defense gives us those opportunities to go and score, like we got to we got to go and put put points on the board and vice versa. When when we get it going, you know, defense help us out with a stop so that we continue to keep this momentum. And then special teams as well. Um that’s kind of what you said with special teams kind of alluding to the um to like our flow, you know, on that first drive offensively. Two people give you much of a chance coming in this game. You went toe-to-toe with this football team. A couple mistakes, you feel better about the direction your team is going in as you’re moving forward. I would say we we don’t feel uh you know any moral victories. you know, there are no moral victories, but uh we can we can say that uh you know, there there have been some plays made, but how can we stay consistent uh with those plays being made defensively and then transitioning to that momentum offensively as well. Um, so we got to look at the film, you know, we got a lot of time to to look at ourselves in the mirrors or in the mirror as individuals and then collectively as we’re watching film, you know, what what do we need to do to to stop the the losses, you know, from going into the the wrong column. You kind of lean on the running game a lot today, the ran ball a lot with a lot of success. uh as as far as that playing with your passing game pass if you can continue to do that. It’s going to be a pretty good uh pretty good situation for you. Yes, sir. And I think, you know, I think Mike did a really good job in in how he called the game tonight. Uh, I think it’s also one of those where, you know, as you’re running the ball, you know, you’re kind of playing that game with the defensive coordinator where, all right, we’re going to go cover two, give them eight yards, give them six yards, we’re going to go cover two again, give them five yards, we’re going to go cover two again, they can’t sustain to run the ball the entire time. They’re going to want to pass. Maybe 10 is is going to be in coach’s ear. Maybe he’s 17 is going to be in coach’s ear, you know, and I think Mike did a really good job and I think 10 17 vaugh I think all those guys did a great job in how we wanted to operate tonight in the run game and in our turbos and all of that and so uh big credit to those guys tonight. I know you said that there were um no moral victories obviously too, but there were some positives Tyreek the connection with Jaylen W. What in your mind I haven’t seen the film, but what were the positives that you can build on next week? Yeah, I think guys being in the spots they need to be. Uh there’s some things that that we were talking about on the sideline that we need to continue to to to work on is guys just getting their depth. When they get their depth, then we can distinguish the the high low and how we want to go about that um in the reads. Uh but then it’s not just within a passing game. You know, I’m very proud of those guys in a run game. Um, you know, when those two are on the field, most likely we’re getting too high and so it helps when those guys are, you know, getting their shoulder in there to block secondary force. What’s it like just on the other side of these? Yeah, again, I would say there’s no more victories. Um, Josh is a heck of a player. We all know that. um you know, he’s going to go out there and, you know, do what everyone expects him to do. And I I would say for us, it’s worrying about what we got to do against their defense, uh to stay ahead of the chains, you know, third and manageable and then be able to stay on the field um in those situations. Was it particularly deflating the roughing penalty? You think you’re about to go back on? Yeah, that that’s that’s always going to be deflating. Uh but then again, it’s not like our guys go out there and they’re like, “Hey, we we want to go and hit the the punter after he punts the ball, you know? It’s not one of those where um you’re like, man, you know, this this what is this guy doing?” For sure. You’re like, “Dude, what are we doing?” But it’s not like they’re going out there trying to do that, right? Trying to do the right thing. And unfortunately, that’s what happened.

  1. You all are sitting on your couch criticizing. The man played well. Don’t cheer when this thing turns around. Been a Dolphins fan for 45 yrs and you sound like a bunch of quitters. Tua has played behind a bottom 5 line for his whole career. Just go find another team to root for.

  2. Buffalo Bills fan here. The Miami Dolphins have an incredible amount of talent and speed. Tua hangs onto the ball way too long though. Being left-handed aside, I don't like his throwing motion. The Bills gave him the little dump off passes all night long. I'm not sure if the Dolphins will make the playoffs, but they will disrupt and be a spoiler down the road. Three home games in particular, the Bills, Ravens, and Bengals should be interesting. Good luck.

  3. Brunskill completely whiffing on his man set up the INT… Tua made terrible throw and decision but Brunskill inability to block set up the game ending play. Terrible.

  4. As a 40 year Dolphins fan I am happy we are losing 😊 Tua need to be humble he was going away from who he really is money was changing him I believe we will get better over time and we will be the first 0-3 team to make the playoffs and win one!!

  5. Sorry but it's time to move on from him as soon as it's financially viable, been a supporter but these past 2 season he's regressed and the injuries seem to have taken a toll on his ability on the field.

  6. Tua is the best clutch player that makes it happen for opposing teams. It's bad when you watch tua and feel a pic is near by every down and every game. Top 10 pic this year but the dolphins will screw that up too

  7. I always wondered what was the hyge rush in paying Tua? Exercise the 5th year option and understand that he needed to prove it in 2024. He didn't, we've quickly realized that he's injury prone. And now un 2025, we see him starting to regress. Its unfortunate but we now have to keep him in 26 so we don't have the cap hit.
