[OC-49ersPlus] No, this loss was not all on Brock. No running game or pass rush, bad special teams, drops and turnovers were too much to overcome

  1. CMC looked washed. Ricky is the only receiver to do anything. The line is trash. This is still a rebuild and the 49ers will have a sub 16 overall pick this year.

  2. He didn’t help but it was a collective failure for sure.

Where the fuck is the run game? They keep trying to run CMC down the middle and that shit is not happening. Dude is not as explosive anymore. Either the injury has him slowly ramping up or this is just who he is now but they gotta get explosive.

  3. It’s only one game and yes, to be super clear, Brock is still the guy, but he did play really poorly today.

Recievers had lots of drops but Purdy made lots of his own mistakes and a few really puzzling throws into traffic. IMO he’s doing what he did last year and pushing too hard to make the big plays.

  4. Sure, it was a shit performance all around. But, it has to be said that Brock came up very poor on several big drives. They basically were asking us to win in the fourth

  5. CMC is still a good receiving back but he’s completely washed as a runner. Or George Kittle’s blocking is extremely needed.

Anyways he’s playing like the NFL version of Cash Jones.

  6. CMC tipping a pass back for a pick and the OLine collapsing leading to a fumble is not on Brock. Brock had some high throws but also like 7 drops on the day. And this line is TRASH. Also special teams giving up a touchdown because they’re trash. And there was zero pass rush without Bosa.

  7. Not all on Brock when we haven’t had a single rushing td this season. But Brock played bad too, it was a team effort.

  8. Of course it wasn’t all on Brock, but Brock sucked. Your quarterback plays bad, you lose.

He’s coming back from an injury. I suspect that if Jones hadn’t gotten hurt, Jones would’ve started. If Brock plays like this next week, I’ll be worried.

I had the Jags winning this game. You have to put a pass rush on Lawrence. For a team that emphasizes D-line, I find it strange that they have a one man D-line.

  9. Brock didn’t help though. Thought Jimmy G was back for a minute with all the high hospital passes he threw. I’ll give him the benefit of the doubt playing with his injury though, for now.

But turnovers, drops, and our still weak ass shit special teams. We got rid of Moody but I still sweat as much on kick offs and punts on both sides.

  10. Same yes Brock being paid all that money does open the door for criticism but the entire offense as a unit (especially the o line) is to blame

  11. The team didn’t look focused today. They looked like a group of guys who were 3-0 assuming they could beat a mid jaguars team and roll into a Thursday night matchup against the rams 4-0. Hell maybe they are focused on the rams and not the jags today. All I know is that if the jags offense had even a modicum of the organization/focus a typical nfl offense does, this is a nasty blowout at home.

I’m not mad I’m just disappointed

  12. That was a steaming shit sandwich in all 3 phases. Good luck cutting it down to one problem to pick out

  13. Why the fuck is Guerendo getting 0 touches??? Like actually what the fuck? Dude is the fastest player on our team and Kyle decides he’s in the doghouse for no fucking reason

  14. It was a C game from Brock, not anywhere near as bad as the box score suggests but also definitely not good enough to overcome all the other issues

  15. A 5 point game comes down to the strength of our O-Line…. And it’s not good. We have some much cap space and we haven’t done anything for Left Guard

  16. Brock deserves his share. He had more than a few bad throws and 3 of the turnovers were at least partially on him.

Had some good spots too. But I wish he’d try playing a little smarter. The ints on first down, it’s OK to throw it away or run for a few yards if the throw isn’t there.

  17. Yes, he deserves to take part of the blame, but this was a team loss and not something to pin on one player. It didn’t help that he had no run game, the o-line was crumbling, and his receivers couldn’t catch.

  18. There’s a rugby adage that I think applies to football:

“The big guys decide who wins. The little guys decide by how much”

Our O-line is consistently giving up pressure to Brock and isn’t moving anyone in the run game. CMC is averaging 3.3 YPC on the season. 0 rushing TDs so far this season.

The D-line is bottom 10 without Bosa, maybe closer to bottom 5. 0 sacks since Bosa got hurt. 0 INTs on the season.

Our trenches just aren’t strong enough to compete with playoff contending teams. As far as I’m concerned, the INTs and sacks on offense and lack thereof of defense are all symptoms of this.

Everything starts with the trenches, and that where we’re weakest.

  19. We had more drops today (7) than all but 3 teams in the nfl have ALL SEASON. 2 of those drops resulted in jags TDs on the very next play.

  20. Biggest knock on Brock is that he forces his throws. The 2 interceptions could have been avoided with either him scrambling for a few yards or taking the check down.

  21. It all starts at the O line.

Skill positions are useless without that foundation. RBs can’t punch through without the o line directing holes. Our mid collapses constantly this game.

Receivers can’t find separation in time because the quarterback is instantly feeling pressure, from all directions I mind you. Especially when Shan’s scheme is so reliant on putting the ball in well timed windows.

It’s the fucking O LINE. THE FUCKING FOUNDATION

  22. If a ball hits a receiver in the hands first then it shouldn’t be an INT. You get millions to catch the ball.

  23. 49ers OL and special teams have no business being in the same sentence with the word good
