When yinzers said they’d be getting a top 5 pick and finally firing you but you start 3-1

  1. Tomlin is out scheming his haters. His haters have no fan development, and their fan tree is weak.

  2. I’m happy to win, too, and hopeful this is still a playoff win capable team this year. But, y’all celebrating in September. Better to be 3-1 now, yes, but we’ll see how this shakes out in Nov/Dec.

  3. I love when a guy like me, who doesn’t really know anything but unlike a lot of people on this sub openly admits it, gets made to look smart with games like this simply for not getting too low and being reactionary.

Tomlin’s staff outcoached KOC/Flores today. If not for one blown play by one player this is the blowout win people around here were so desperate to see.

  4. 3-1 is always good, but still have the entire division, Bills, Lions, Chargers, Packers, and surprisingly the Colts as some really good teams we have to play.

Not trying to be a doomer about it, just that 3/4 of the season left with some tough games, dont be planning the parade yet

  5. Not my coworkers 4 months ago saying to trade Watt and anyone else to tank for fucking Arch Manning, lol

  6. Credit where it’s due, if I’m going to criticize him when I feel like he deserves it I’ll give him credit for a strong victory against a team that’s not terrible. They looked prepared. It was closer than it should’ve been but this is the NFL, games are usually close. It looks like they tried a couple of things that I have been wanting them to try so I’m not going to bitch about it. Fair is fair, they won the damn game. And at times they looked like a modern NFL team.

  7. Very few people said this, though. They said he’d win 9-10 games and get blown out in the first playoff game if they made the playoffs like every other year.

  8. They hade 4 passing touchdowns week 1 compared to the last time that happened, I’d say we’re in a good spot. Team still has plenty of growing pains, wtf was that call to run gainwell on 4th and inches, do they not trust Rodgers to rush push? Or just in general why not kick the field goal and go up another 3. It’s these weird one offs that blow my mind. 3-1 though!!

  9. Teams that start 3–1 make the playoffs about two-thirds of the time (≈65–67%). Those 3–1 teams go on to win the Super Bowl about 5–6% of the time.

  10. I don’t think a top-5 pick is that important, anyway. The top QBs who were in the top ten picks from that last two or three drafts aren’t necessarily thriving. A top-15 — or maybe even top-20 — in a deep QB draft may be just as successful.

If the Steelers are below the 20th pick, I could see them trading up to around #10 to #15 if they see someone they like.

  11. I find it hard to be happy about this with how last year went. We started out 10-3 and I was pretty stoked, then we continued to lose every other game we played. I gotta see end of the year/playoff success to believe it anymore.

  12. Man I’ve been a fan of Tomlin forever, but that punt on 4th and 1 was bullshit. I thought we “don’t live in our fears”

  13. 3-1 at week 4 is pretty normal, 9-8 at the end of the season is above average, getting beaten by three scores in the first round is what everyone is going to see once again. Nothing really changes. The Steelers will never have a top 5 pick, but they won’t be getting the 28th to 32nd pick either, because they aren’t competing for a ring, they are average.

  14. We hang on barely to our lead to win and OP wants to give Tomlin another extension. Let’s wait until the end of the season before you crow.

  15. Ur right, he’s the best coach alive, especially after taking that delay of game just such next level stuff.

  16. Currently trending towards 3-1 and ravens at 1-3, which I’m sure everyone was expecting

  17. Austin still needs to be fired. Dude almost blew a 18 point lead in 5 minutes. Only reason he didn’t is because Carson Wentz is dogshit

  18. Quite literally, kicking heroics, multiple red zone turnovers, and hanging on by the skin of your teeth from flipping that to being 0-4. But yeah. The end product Tomlin delivers is incredible /s

This team has been moving in a backwards direction his entire tenure and people will continue to eat up barely beating backup QB’s

  19. I’m still amazed how Mike Tomlin is completely and totally responsible for every bad thing that happens to the Steelers, but has no bearing anything good that happens to the Steelers.
