That’s a big number!
As much as wins or playoff appearances, I think this is the number that has kept Preller in his role for a decade. He turned the Padres from an afterthought into one of the star teams. If you would have told any Padres fan in 2010 that this was the future, nobody would have believed you.

Someone at the game today had a t-shirt that read “I’ve been here all along “ or something like that, acknowledging that he attended all 81 home games.
Bravo to that man and Bravo to us. It’s incredible that of 81 home games there were 70+ sell outs. Amazing, as Luis Arraez would say.
This gives an average attendance of 42,434.5 per home game.
With an “official” capacity of 42,000, we averaged a (thenical) sell-out. As a padres fan since the 00s and going to games as a kid, I have a hard time comprehending this fact.
