Will Aaron Glenn’s ‘authenticity’ matter if Jets don’t improve? | Pro Football Talk | NFL on NBC
We start in New York. The Jets play the Dolphins in Miami on Monday night. Last Sunday, they were in Tampa Bay. And after the block field goal that became a touchdown that gave the Jets a lead that didn’t last, Aaron Glenn was on the sideline dancing. And it was funny. It was It was It was very well done. It was very impressive. And it was just one of those moments of jubilation that we love to see in any sport. Here’s Aaron Glenn from earlier in the week as we let you see this before we hear from Aaron Glenn. And the camera, it was weird. The camera cut to Tyrod Taylor, which during the play, I think that’s a no no as broadcast goes, but I’m no expert there. There’s Aaron Glenn with his sideline dance. Here’s Aaron Glenn talking about his celebration that went viral. Movers. I wonder if did the kids show you the videos of you dancing after? You know what they they did? Here. Here’s what here’s what I do know. Um, and that’s that’s why I’mma always be me. And listen, these guys need someone that’s going to show they believe in them and that’s going to show they’re proud of them when they make plays. And I tell you what, I thought if if if I probably didn’t do that, my wife and kids would have said, “Man, what’s happening?” You know, what’s going on with you? And I’m glad that um I’mma never be fake. I’m always be me. Some people like, some people don’t. doesn’t matter, you know, but I’m glad that, you know, people get to see me, my authentic self, no matter what. And I don’t know what it means because someone said, “Well, do a head coach supposed to act like that?” How does a head coach wants to act? You know, I don’t know. But, um, it was good. Reminds me of a lot of the initial reaction to Mike McDaniel. He was authentic and he’s so different and he’s true to himself and it hits differently when the team’s good. So, we’ll see how authenticity works for Aaron Glenn in New York. If the team doesn’t get better, it’s not going to matter. Exactly, Mike. Look, the the excitement is fun. Uh being authentic, that’s fun. The team buys into it. Yes. You believe them. You believe in them. But they’ve had some coaches who they they’ve had a lot of uh interesting coaches in New York over the years, and it really just comes down to winning games. They’re 0 and3 and they’re all over the place. Uh the the Aaron Glenn’s dancing doesn’t bother me. It’s the performance of the team. Just don’t know what you’re going to get from week to week. That first week against the Steelers and they have a they have a chance to win the game and Xavier Gibson has the mistake and they cut him the next day because he cost them the game. I guess they’re trying to send a message that all right, they’re doing something. Then they come back and look like they uh you know Justin Fields has problems just throwing the ball. Uh so there these three losses a couple of them kind of promising I guess another one uh didn’t show up for it. So you just don’t know what you’re going to get with the Jets. And after a while if they don’t start winning some games they don’t want to see Aaron Glenn or anybody else dancing on the sideline. It’s funny. Aaron Glenn said he wasn’t trying to send a message to Xavier Gibson. Well, I mean, it’s kind of like accidentally activating the bat signal if you weren’t trying to send a message because you did. You did. And the Jets are 0 and3 and we’re not even a month into the season and who knows where it’s going to go from here. Justin Fields was a full participant in Thursday’s practice. He missed week three with a concussion. He’s still got to clear the final level of the protocol that allows him to play in order to go to Miami for what really is for both teams a critical critical. It doesn’t mean the winner is going to suddenly vault into playoff contention. But it is a critical Monday night game because the loser is going to be 0 and4 and as a practical matter the loser I think is going to be done. Hi, it’s Mike Florio. Though they appreciate Aaron Glenn’s personality, Michael Holley and Mike Florio still have concerns about the Jets, who are winless going into a “critical” Week 4 matchup against the 0-3 Dolphins. #NBCSports #NFL #ProFootballTalk

In year one?
Glenn wil be gone in a few yrs
Same media people saying we need to give coaches time, but saying this… 3 games into his career?
Jets double standard is completely asinine
if Aaron and Ben do better than 1 and 6 aftet7 games . are they better than Dan when he took the coaching job?
People need to chill out and give him time. It's only three games into the first season. He will definitely get next year no matter how this season turns out
We are all human no matter the team record keep having fun
Who is this guy?
Who is this guy in the right, what doe he know?
Current owner needs to be gone talk about ruining a franchise must be related to jones in texas
Teams fire their coach because they don't have a qb or o-line
I mean it's the Jets. Idk why they bother hiring and firing coaches. They will never be good with their ownership
Huh?!🤔 It’s so much better to have passionate AG than hearing Saleh’s weekly Corporate Robot VP responses. Right on target about not being fake and being yourself.
Does anybody want to watch the Jets and Dolphins play a game?
