Leon Draisaitl and Connor McDavid combined for seven points for the Edmonton Oilers in a 4-3 win against the Vancouver Canucks at Rogers Place in Edmonton on Sunday.

Draisaitl had two goals and two assists, and McDavid had a goal and two assists for Edmonton (4-1-1) in what was the second game of the preseason for each forward. Stuart Skinner made 25 saves.

Aatu Raty, Braeden Cootes and Jonathan Lekkerimaki scored for the Canucks (2-2-0). Thatcher Demko made 20 saves.

McDavid scored his first goal of the preseason at 1:28 of the first period, collecting a loose puck off a scramble behind the net and tucking it in past Demko.

Trent Frederic made it 2-0 at 11:37, scoring on a rebound in front off a shot from McDavid.

Draisaitl scored his first of the preseason on the power play at 16:57 of the second period to make it 3-0.

Raty made it 3-1 at 3:53 of the third period, picking the top corner on a shot from the right face-off circle.

Cootes cut it to 3-2 at 4:36, banking in a centering pass off the skate of Oilers defenseman Mattias Ekholm in front.

Draisaitl scored his second goal of the game at 9:27. He converted a pass from McDavid on a 2-on-1 rush against Canucks defenseman Filip Hronek to push the lead to 4-2.

Lekkerimaki got the Canucks to within 4-3 at 16:52 when he scored during a 6-on-5 with Demko on the bench for an extra attacker. — Derek Van Diest
