GAME 162 ACTION: Marlins score FOUR RUNS in ONE INNING vs. the Mets! ๐Ÿ‘€

there in the bullpen bar and grill. Some Mets fans watching other games. Israeli gets a comebacker off the bat of Otto Lopez. One out, one pitch there in the fourth. Brewers got one run in the bottom of the third. That’s a 2-1 game in favor of Cincinnati as they go to the fourth at American Family Field. Mets have activity in the bullpen. Ryan Stannic is up. You know, the other thing that we’re starting to think about now, the Marlins in this game today, just one hit, an infield hit. The Marlins had just one hit all of last night. So, the offense has to try to get going. 10 wrap foul by Connor Norby. Couldn’t believe when I saw that note. It was the first time in the ballpark’s 14-year history or 14. Amazing. They have been held to one hit. Marlins haven’t scored in their last 15 to third innings. They’ve gone ice cold then the year, but there’s still time here today. Chain of misses outside. I told you Freddy Peralta out of the game in Milwaukee. Pat Murphy’s plan about 45 pitches. Interesting tactic, interesting decision. They got the buy. He doesn’t pitch again till next Friday as Norby yanks the 3-1 sweeper foul. Now, I guess there a couple of ways to look at it. You kind of like to see him go a little deeper, but he he has pitched a lot this year. We mentioned a 17g game winner 268 RA coming into the game. Those are spooky times right now in Milwaukee. They are limping to the finish line with a buy, with all that time off with a pretty rotten postseason history in years past. That’s a franchise that they have gotten themselves there, but they’ve been unable to get over the hump. So, they could see uh let’s see, San Diego, the Cubs, San Diego or Chicago. Sign me up for a Milwaukee Chicago Division Series. That’s yanked into left field. A base hit for Connor Norvy with one away here in the fourth. Let’s go downstairs and check in with Kelly. Hey guys, no matter how this one ends, this 2025 Marlins team has a lot to be proud of as we take a look at our Toyota 10 largest improvements from 2024 to 2025. The Marlins are third in Major League Baseball with at least 16 more wins. It would be 17 if they get the victory here today. And it was Connor Norby who was telling me before the game it was because these guys have worked so hard so closely. All right, Kelly, thank you very much. Second former Marlin coming in. It’s Ryan Stannic. One-on-one out for the Marlins. We’re in the bottom of the fourth of closing day. Scoreless between the Marlins and the Mets. Former flamethrowing right-hander for the Marlins. Ryan Stannick coming on to make his 65th appearance of the season for New York. Well, he continues to throw hard. will know he likes to ride that fast ball up in the zone. He’s got that split, the slider. He can get wild though occasionally. Good top of the zone slider there. Nothing and one on Eric Wagman who struck out swinging back in the second. Still got a lot of giddy up in that fast ball. Sweeper blocked by Alvarez making a 67 start behind home plate for the Mets today. Orby at first already has one stolen base this afternoon that came back in the second when he walked with one out. He’ll check in on him. Reds went quietly in the top of the fourth. They lead 2-1 as they go to the home half of the fourth inning in Milwaukee. Ryan Stannock wants a new baseball. Get rid of it. Oh, Red Sox Tigers now tied in the bottom of the fourth in New York. Yankees and the Orioles tied in the bottom of the fourth inning as well. This is what makes closing day so special. Everybody’s roughly in the same inning. There’s a drive towards the gap left center field. Taylor’s on the move. Not going to get there. Up and off the wall. Here comes Connor Norby. He’s got the way through to the plate is not in time. A runscoring double for Eric Wagaman. And the Marlins have a one- nothing lead. And that’s exactly why I saved my pick for the biggest moment of the year. I was waiting for one today. What a swing by Eric Wagaman. He’s come up with some big base hits all year. That one so far the biggest. One side of the ballpark just came to its feet. The other half of it is dead quiet. A hanger jumped on it and you talked about Taylor. He can chase him down. He couldn’t chase this one down. This one got into the gap. And the key is that it stayed in the ballpark and that allowed Norby to score. Hernandez watches a call strike. Let’s watch Conor Norby from first to home. He’s got to pick it up right there. He says, “Okay, it’s going to find the gap. I’m going to score.” Right about now, you’re thinking home plate. Am I going to dive? Yeah. There’s not a very good turn at third by Connor. A little dicey on the base running at third. He was waiting to see what Blake Lai wanted to do. That’s fans here in the fourth inning at the moment besides themselves. Still a long way to go, but the Marlins have struck first. The O2 that’s hit foul. Hernandez staying alive on 101. Marlins rookies getting it done again. Eric Wagaman has broke the ice. That’s in the dirt. That was a splitter. And good to see the Marlins backto back hit the ball hard. We talked about just one hit last night, one hit up until this inning. So a couple of well struck baseballs by Norby and Wagaman. Marlins would love another big hit here with one out in the fourth inning. Wagaman one out double is plated Connor Norby all the way from first and the one two is shot in the air to right. Sodto started back now. He’s coming in. He makes the catch. And now a message from Leon. At Leyon Medical Centers, we guarantee you can see your primary care physician within 24 hours and a specialist within a week. Call now. Tyler Rogers up in the bullpen for New York. One- nothing Miami in the bottom of the fourth inning here at Lone Depot Park. Isaac Collins just doubled to begin the fourth inning for Milwaukee. They trail by one. Here’s Brian Navaredto and he swings and he blisters one to center field and deep. Tyrone Taylor going back. Still going back off the wall. A huge two out hit for Navarto. Two nothing Marlins. Sometimes in a game like this, it’s always the the unknown who comes up with something big. We showed you earlier the first home run for Navarto. How about this? He comes close to another. Stannic knew that he made a mistake. Wagaman able to score. Navaredto was thinking a little bit about triple as he rounded second base. Do I put on the brakes? Do I stay? Do I fall? Do I get Let me get back. And it was so abundantly clear the Marlins were just waiting on hanging breaking balls from Ryan Stannic. And they made him pay twice. Wagaman in Naareto. Two nothing in the fourth. Welcome back to Lone Depot Park where Tyler Rogers is on to pitch for the Mets. Let’s check in with Kelly real quick. Hey Kyle, this two nothing lead bad news for Mets fans because when Marlins lead, they tend to hold it. We go back to June 10th. Look at that. Marlins’s record 54-10 best records when leading at any point since June 10th and that was that road trip that Clayton McCulla so often goes back that started in Tampa where he felt momentum started going in the Marlins way. They started playing the game right. Daniel Mosquez also credits the bullpen and the work that they’ve done and Brandon man and the creating the environment that they have over there. Those guys, they really work for each other as does this whole team. All right, Kelly, thank you. Those guys have had a fabulous season. The Marlins have scored two times here in the bottom of the fourth. And now Tyler Rogers, the submarinating right-hander, is on for the Mets. 80 appearances, split his time between the Bay Area and Queens acquired at the deadline as Senoha hits a foul. Meanwhile, in Milwaukee moments ago, Danny Jansen at the plate with an opportunity to give the Brewers the lead. Three-2 Milwaukee. And with a two-run shot, he gives Milwaukee the lead. One-1 coming to Senoha. That’s in there for a strike. Well, I think one of the best things baseball ever did was schedule all the Sunday games, last games of the season at the same time. How good is this? Yeah. Two nothing Miami. 3-2 Brewers. And the one-two coming down to Javier Senoha. That is grand and fair. Headed down into the corner. Senoha hits the bag at second. On his way to third. A runscoring triple. Three nothing Miami. Oh boy. I mentioned it early in the game when Sonoha plays. It’s either a play in the outfield. He chased one down earlier. Or a big base hit. He provides excitement. More excitement with a triple there driving in Navarto. That is such a nightmare matchup for Tyler Rogers. Just not a guy you’re going to be able to get out. It’s the third extra base hit of the inning for Miami. There was just an appeal at first. He was safe. Here’s the pitch. Yeah, that ball was up in the zone even though it was delivered knuckle high off the dirt, but then it found that corner and a little trouble in the corner for NMO. He had a long way to go. Easy triple Javier. What a fun season it’s been for Javier Senoha. It’s his fourth triple of the year. Two outs. Here’s Edwards. [Applause] I I I’ll tell you this is just a nightmare matchup for Tyler Rogers against a pesky offense who puts the ball in play and the assignment having to face Senoha and Edwards could prove to be a disaster. Yes, it will. 4 nothing and four home in the fourth for the fish. It is something that Pedro Guerrero, Marlins hitting coach and his staff, Clayton McCulla, they’ve preached it all year. Contact, contact is so important. Doesn’t matter who’s out there on the mound. We’ve seen a lot of contact. We’ve seen great contact here in this inning. It’s such a bad move by the Mets to bring on Tyler Rogers. It’s such a bad move when you have a team that makes all this contact and he’s a contact pitcher. Everything has been up and it’s cost the Mets dearly here in the fourth. The Marlins are making Mendoza and the boys from Queens pay. They better get out of it right now or they can start making their offseason plans. And look at this. Their closer is loosening in the fourth. Wow. They’re dead. They’re gone. Tough day. Even though I loved the Gary Carter jersey there. They’re feeling it right now. That young man left us far too soon. And the Mets knocked them out. And so too potentially have the Marlins. Here’s Ramirez. Runner goes high chopper. Lindor’s got it. The inning is over. How about this, my friends? Four runs, five hits. It’s 4 nothing Miami.

The Miami Marlins play spoiler with a 4-run 4th inning in Game 162 vs. the New York Mets on September 28, 2025.

  3. Watch out for this Marlins team in 2026. The Mets thought they were going to come into Miami with an easy punch out ticket into the Playoffs. The Marlins had another think coming for them.

  4. Iโ€™d say this Marlins team could be very fun very soon, but theyโ€™re already pretty fun.

Also, the use of the Marlinsโ€™ broadcast for this video is very appreciated, the more people who know how good Kyle Sielaff is at his job, the better. Heโ€™s done a wonderful job in just his first season.
