It’s a great time to do it because we got Major League Baseball on the board on Sunday, WNBA playoffs this week. We’re going to look at week six college football coming and week four NFL is on center stage on Sunday. And the Miami Marlins will send out Edward Cabrera for the start in this one. The New York Mets have not confirmed a starter at the time this video is being recorded. I imagine for the Mets it’ll be an all hands-on deck situation. I have seen Shawn Maniah listed as the starter in a couple of places. We’ll have to see if that ends up being who the uh the Mets confirm, but like I said, right now we do know that it is Edward Cabrera going here. And Cabrera didn’t look great in his last start coming back from the injured list. Gave up three runs on five hits, a pair of home runs over four innings against the Philadelphia Phillies. And now if you’re Cabrera, you got to pick it up and dust yourself off to try to play spoiler here against a Mets team that got to Cabrera on the road earlier this year for six runs, five earned on eight hits, three home runs over four innings back on August 30th. And you know, Cabrera, you know, like I said, he hasn’t been as effective on the road this season, but when you look at Cabrera’s numbers at home like he is here, Cabrera turns into a different pitcher. I mean, at home this season, a 2.91 erra across 13 starts, a 215 opponent’s batting average. And you look at some of the teams he’s faced recently in his or at least in some of his recent starts at home. Seven innings of one hit shutout ball against the Braves. He held the Yankees, the potent Yankees line, but six innings of one-run ball in a win for the Marlins in that game. So, I think he can pitch well here against a Mets team that’s just really been sliding in the month of September and even in the last two weeks against right-handed pitching. They’ve been able to do some damage. Their batting average is all right at 270, but you know, still hasn’t necessarily resulted in a lot of wins and I worry that could be the case here as well. You know, the Mets sending out Shawn Maniah here. This is a Marlins lineup that as of late has been hitting better against lefties, hitting 269 in the last two weeks. The team OPS numbers have been decent. And at the end of it all, I just I trust the Marlins bullpen right now more than I trust the New York Mets. I get it. that the Mets have their backs against the wall. This is a must-win situation for the New York Mets. Considering that the Cincinnati Reds have the tiebreaker, but just because you need something doesn’t mean you get it. I need a million bucks in my bank account tomorrow, doesn’t mean it’s going to be there. So, you look at Shawn Maniah. If it is Maniah that’s getting the nod here, I mean, he’s got a 7.80 ERA across his last seven starts. He’s given up at least three runs in six of his last seven, four or more runs in five of those starts. and he hasn’t made it past five full innings in any of those as well. So, I’m gonna go with the Miami Marlins here. Maybe it’s a fade to Shawn Mania more than anything else. But either way, give me Miami in this one. And that’s going to be my free pick.
