The Jaxson Dart Show Is HERE – Giants Are BACK!

[Music] real energy and real hope. And it I I have to say when I was watching him and he runs in Jackson Dart and scores that touchdown and he starts doing that dance, I was smiling. I was laughing even in this disaster of a sports day for me. That right there. I said, “My lord, we actually now I’m not going to get totally fooled because we’ve done this a million times, but we might actually have turned a corner. Maybe, maybe, just maybe, because nothing changes an NFL franchise like a quarterback who plays well, that’s got a personality, that’s got energy. And this team has been dead, absolutely dead for years. And to see that and to see how passionate he was out there and just balls to the wall and he’s got to get a little more careful so he doesn’t get hurt. I mean, even in a day when your best wide receiver and superstar goes down with an injury, the Giant fan base is elated because of what they saw from that kid. Uh, yes. And that’s why I gave him an A for energy, B for playing. I mean, he didn’t have to throw much. They did not turn the football over like Russell Wilson did the previous couple weeks. And as long as they don’t turn the football over, this defense is good enough to put pressure on the opposing team’s quarterback. I’m telling you, they defensively I I feel like they’ve given three out of their four games they’ve given a winning performance. It’s just they’ve got nothing from the offense. And even yesterday, it was like they gave the offense great field position. You know, I mean, it was it’s kind of skewed because of Jackson Dart’s personality and what he looks like. But, you know, you had two interceptions that ended up down by the goal line and that’s amazing by the defense. So, that would that made it a little bit easier for the offense. They didn’t score a lot of points, but there’s no question. You can see the athleticism of this kid. And I think you you hit on something right there. He’s got to be really careful because now teams will have tape on him. They’ll know about the way that he runs. And defensive coordinators are going to tell their team that he stays up and he’s willing to take hits. If he’s willing to take hits, they’re going to deliver them. And you know, yesterday and and I think Brian Daval said it after the game. I don’t know if Jerry played it this morning. I don’t think he did, but he’s going to be sore. Yeah, he’s going to be sore because he took a lot of hits and he hasn’t taken a lot of hits for over a year because he hasn’t played for over a year. Yeah. And he was also grabbing at the back of his hamstring. Uh, so it obviously wasn’t serious because he stayed in the game. But, uh, yeah, I mean there he he he is a guy and he he slaps the helmet of the one guy and you could tell he was his hand was I know what he’s doing. I I know and and you know what, good for him. He needs to kind of do a little of that because he it’s like Cam Scataboo. Like Cam Scataboo is uh, you know, he’s Mark Bavaro as a fullback or a halfback now. They got him playing halfback, but he’s blocking. He’s he’s running over people. You know, I don’t know how long he could keep this up. I mean that this is both of these players played at a extremely intense level yesterday. Yeah. And Jackson Dart, he has to find that happy medium of of keeping that energy going and and keeping himself healthy. But you know, Brian Dball loved Josh Allen for the reasons that Jackson Dart showed yesterday. He balls to the wall, wants to win, will take a hit, is not afraid of anything, puts himself on the line to to win a football game. All of these things that Brian Dball loved in Josh Allen in his early time in Buffalo, and obviously he’s turned into an MVP. You you saw some of those things yesterday. Now, I don’t I I really am not trying to say that Jackson’s going to be Josh Allen or any of that stuff. No, you’re just trying to point out a similar type of player when he was a younger player doing the same thing. That’s all. and and the coach who’s been looking for this ever since he got here. Exactly. That’s that’s really the thing, you know. But I I also think though that, you know, Daniel Jones initially tried to do that, but Daniel Jones kept getting hurt. He also never had the personality, you know. Right. This kid certainly got the personality. He’s doing the dance after the touchdown and everything else. I was I was asked this morning by EI, did you ever do anything like that? I don’t think I can do anything like that. Yeah, it was great. I mean, it it really was. I mean, I was uh I was absolutely thrilled to see and that I mean, they beat a really good football team, too. And I think that the defense can feed off of the offense and the energy there, too. It’s just the energy and the building that was created by Jackson Dart starting and the way that the game started off so positively. The defense got extra juice and the fans who went to that game, man, that have seen so much nonsense. you know, the season ticket holders that last year were at the game that that we called for Compass Media that were sitting there and watching the Philadelphia Eagle fan take over the building and there’s no juice. That same season ticket holder that got that experience yesterday, I feel great for uh because they’ve been so few and far between at the Giants. Here’s the thing now with the Giants, they go on the road, they play the worst team in football. They’re going to play the New Orleans Saints and then they got to play the Philadelphia Eagles after that. They have to follow this up with a win. They cannot look, they can’t go down there and lay an egg, right? They have got to show up. They have got to this defense has got to do exactly what it did yesterday. They’re playing against Spencer Rattler. You know, it was an oh, by the way, win by the Buffalo Bills yesterday. You know, the Giants aren’t the Buffalo Bills. They got to go in there and they got to they got to try to basically intimidate that quarterback as much as they can, get the turnovers like they did yesterday, and they got to play with their hair on fire. Now, listen, Brian Burns is a man. That guy is a great player. You could see it every week. The energy is there. The effort is there. Yesterday, guess who showed up? Abdul Carter started to show up. And now look, he’s playing against a backup tackle. And he should show up and he should make that guy look silly. Yeah. The amount of hits that they had on Justin Herbert yesterday, you know, that’s exactly what I think we all thought the Giants were going to be when the season started. And I still think at least on defense. Yeah. Right. But I still think that they gave you three even though that the Cowboy loss was horrendous. They gave you three reasonably winning performances defensively in the first three out of four games. All right, Boomer and Gio on the fan at CBS Sports Network. So much to come.
