3. On June 13, 2025 the Mets became the gayest team in baseball when they sang the National Anthem to the LGBT flag. They were 42-25 with a 4.5 game lead over the Phillies. The decline began that day when they lost to the Rays. As a fan for close to 40 years I can say that the season and my time as a Met fan ended perfectly with a 4-0 loss on the last day of the season.
