NHL Preseason Highlights | Hurricanes vs. Panthers | September 29, 2025
There you go. Luke Cunning starting at the
center position with that new scoreboard here at Amar Bank Arena. We’ll tell you
more about that. Cunning wears number 71, an NHL veteran. Hurricanes with an early chance
and that one caught a piece of the crossbar from Kevin Lang along with the veteran Jack Stoa
because Evan Rodriguez little bit dinged up. It is highly precautionary. So Rodriguez
okay may even play in the preseason later this week. Samoske puts it out in front of the
backhander. Score Jack Dika on the feed from Mackey. Quick goal for the Florida Panthers in
the first minute of the first period here in the perfect position. There he is. Now he goes to the
front of the net. Has to play that puck off his skate to his stick and the backhander squeaks
through. Here’s a better angle right there. Right through Anderson. Panthers on the board
quickly. Second goal of the preseason for the veterans. Just brimming with confidence. He’s
looked terrific in camp. Great save by Babski. And then another one. And then the third
save by Sergey Babroski. Oh, it’s pre-season, but Big Bob is in Stanley Cup final form. Couple
of saves. There’s the original shot. Stretched out. There he is again. then stretch the right
pad out and deny Carolina from putting that puck in behind the goal line. Another look
at it from a different angle. There it is. Look at how he’s able to recover and just squeak
himself over and spread himself out. Oh, I would have been in four pieces. He’s reluctant, but he
realizes for the benefit of himself and the team. Greor shoots and hit the crossbar. Oh, Noah Greor
let one fly and nearly got another pre-season goal for himself. Second period, Greor caught
the iron on the deflection. Panthers go for a change. Approaching the midway point. Only
goal came in the opening minute. Samuskevich with a nice assist. Here’s a chance in front.
They score. Elvis on a beauty on the back hand. You’re seeing speed right there. There’s
the turnover and here come the Panthers and they’ve got three going towards the net
and the backhander. Bill Manis finishes it off. Second consecutive goal by the Panthers
on the backhander. They’ve got support from the forwards or what have been able to cut
those off and then turn back the other way. Jo puts it out in front and they
score. A good pass there by Jo and Mau with the finish and Carolina’s on
the board. And then deposit in the net. Well, pre-season coaches challenge. Tyson Baker and David Breezbach on the headsets.
They’ll give Francis Chiron the decision. And here’s the call. to review. Play was offside
prior to goal. We have no goal. We said the clock at 7:47. Thank you. They’re asking the fans
to get in their seats or Yeah, 100% on that one. There’s a shot and Smith finds the back of
the net. It sneaks in and now Carolina’s made it a onegoal game. You see right here kind of
scrambled. Benning’s reaching for it. Lost control and then Smith comes in and he wastes no time and
shoots it on the short side of Black and it just you see goes right between the blocker. So we’ll
start to get a look at the Lightning Chance here. Black makes a nice save on Jo. Schillington,
the veteran defenseman, gets to center. Oh no, that was held in. Nisha nice move and a shot and
he scores and Carolina has quickly gotten this game even at two. And the Kishian, he goes short
side on Black as well, catching up to that puck. Makes a little move and then he look he finds
some daylight just enough to pull the trigger. You’re going to see a a great angle right here and
where that puck goes right off the inside post. Katie Anglesen preseason calling us
out on the air. So Randy and I will be happy to eat the fish. Here’s
a chance for the Panthers and Qu snuffed out here at a different angle.
Good steal there getting involuted by Quap Harper threw the body in there at Suzuki. Panthers
hold in. Here’s Harper shooting. caught the save. The rebound is loose and wide. Panthers had
a terrific East final last year against the Hurricanes. Remember going in there winning
those first two games and winning in five. Here come the Panthers. It’s Chorski all alone.
Shooting. He scores. A 32 lead. Brett Chorski. It’s a laser and it’s a beauty. Puck
movement by the Panthers. You’re going to see right here is Carolina, they tried
to make a change, but all forwards got caught. Puck turnover. Gorski just goes and
puts it on the far side right off the post. It comes through everybody and Carolina’s going to get a twoon-one. Here’s Le Bank looking
in front shooting. Black made the save. Yeah, it’s good to see Black, you
know, get get an opportunity tonight, Randy. We’re really looking forward later
in the week. We would assume anyway, that we’ll see Denil Teras off again after that great
performance, the 47 save effort in Carolina. Oh, the Hurricanes answer back and score. Justin Roba
has tied this game at three. There you see. Okay, the Panthers in pretty good position right
here. And then the turnaround. Look at Yeah, it went through two or three
players. There’s the shot now. Samoskevich has it. Petri at the line.
Pressured and cleared ahead. And look out. LGO shoots. That goes high over the net. The
20-year-old sends that around the boards foot and Divine after it. Divine’s got it. handles in
front and a save by Gu here. Foot just kicks it over. Here’s Dine. Comes in. Look at how he just
freezes the defense as I mentioned. Gets the shot. Here comes Cunning breaking in. Centering
feed. It’s Greer. Stop made in front. Petri for Boquist. Here’s Samuskevich to the net.
Scoops it back up. Petri out in front. Sten shoots. He scores. Jeff Sta sends him home with
a winner. He’s got a couple of huge ones tonight. Jack Tenika with a power play goal to finish it
here in overtime. His second of the night. And in the open man, look at Petri. just slides it right
into Sena and he just flips it over a sprawling sprawling goalender. There it is. Another look.
There’s the flip and the gamewinning goal.
