“I Don’t Do Conspiracies” Kawhi Leonard Rips Pablo Torre’s Reporting, Comments On NBA Investigation.

Raise your hand if you have questions on Kawaii. Uh Tomar with Clutch Points. Uh good to see you again. Um, just curious, there’s been a lot of talk uh around you and the Clippers and NBA investigation last last month. Just curious how you’re kind of approaching uh this training camp and kind of not not letting that um you know get in the way distract or anything like that. Oh, I mean I mean it’s easy for me. I mean I don’t read headlines or do conspiracies, theories or anything like that. So um it’s about the season and what’s what we got ahead of us right now. And um yeah, tomorrow we’ll start Kent and see what we got. Do you have any uh reaction or statement regarding some of the things that have been alleged over the last month? Uh no. I mean the NBA is going to do their job. Um none of us did no wrongdoing. Um and uh yeah, I mean that’s it. Um we invite the investigations. It’s not going to be a distraction for me or the rest of the team. Hi Ramona Shel ESPN. Um what what is your understanding of the endorsement deal that you had with the company that that was that’s being talked to aspiration and did you perform any services for them? Um when you say understanding what do you mean like of the contract you signed and how much money you were to receive what you were supposed to perform for those services. I understand that full contract and the services that I had to do. Um, like I said, I don’t deal deal with the conspiracies or uh the clickbait um analysts or journalism that’s going on. Um, so that’s that’s what it is. Well, I I think the allegation was that that you didn’t perform any services for them. Do you do is that accurate or or did you think it’s accurate? But um it’s old. This is this is all new to you guys. Um the company went bankrupt a while ago, so um we already knew this was going to happen. So, did did you were named as like the largest creditor in that in the bankruptcy filing, right? Did you did you actually get the money that was owed to you in the contract or uh No, but the company went belly up. It was it was frauded as everybody know. If you want any more questions or more details about that company, you need to ask the owner or whoever else is involved in the fraud that went on, right? I think they said they owed you 7 million or something, right? Uh I’m not sure. I got to look back at the books, but um No, it’s more than that for sure. Do Do you have any idea of how much you actually made on that? No, it was a It was like two, three, four years ago. Kawaii Lauren Rosen with FanDuel. I remember how much it meant to you to go into the playoffs healthy last season. Lawrence was just talking about the fact that you were able to have a healthy off season as well. What did that mean to you and how does it change the way that you’re able to approach a regular season with health? Um, it was just uh exciting to be in the offseason not going through rehab. So, I was able to push my body to the limit of uh what I wanted to do without repercussions or uh dealing with uh you know the therapist or anything. So, I mean that was great for me. Um able to walk around and just enjoy my summer. Kawhai, you said uh heading into last season back here, Adam Moslin with Kitch Radio, you said heading into last season, your goal was to come out of it healthy. You were able to achieve that. Do you have a different goal or a new goal heading into this season? You can share it with us. Uh no, I mean this this year is just uh the same thing that I come in a year. Just try to win a championship, do the best I can. um try to play uh as many games as possible and just go from there. Um we’ll see what we have. We got some new uh players on our team this year. See what they could bring us and uh see if uh you know we can make something special happen. How you doing Kawhi for Demetri Beaver and Fanny TV. Just speaking of those new players, uh Bradley Bill and John Collins, can you just speak on those additions to the team to see how’s everything going with those? Uh yeah, I mean uh with Bill, everybody knows who he is. Uh three level scorer. Uh can also pass the basketball. Um you know, um he’s going to help out a lot uh by being a ball handler, another decision maker on the floor, uh spreading the defense out. And John, uh same thing, spread the defense out. Uh guarded a lot for Utah Jazz uh the last uh few years. and uh athletic, you know, um could run and jump with the best of them on the floor. And then, uh another name, Brooke, uh you know, obviously, uh the seven footage, uh shooting big. Uh you need those in this league uh today. Hey, Kawhi. Uh Justin Russo, Russo, right? Good to see you. Um I remember after game seven against Denver, you mentioned you were thankful to get through the season healthy and have an offseason where you didn’t have to worry about rehab or anything like that. mentally. What has that done for you to come into a year where you didn’t spend your off season trying to get back on the floor? It was great. Uh like I said, I was able to just move around how I wanted to without like checking in with a doctor or, you know, rehab specialist and able to just go on the court, um do my skill work or go away train and just uh play freely. I mean, I know it’s hard uh for some people to understand, but you know, um it’s a lot of aches and pains that you go through with playing in the NBA. And you know, um simple as just sitting down and able to just get up with no pain, it just it just feels great. And like I said, just to go through a summer like that, it was a blessing. Last one. What’s up, Quai Lumber? The athletic. Um, obviously your name has been on top of conversation all month. Now you got to get ready to help this team win and focus on the season. Uh, how do you approach that? Like how do you approach that with the guys that you play with with TU to say y’all going to hear my name a lot. You’re going to get a lot of questions. Um, like focus on what needs to be focused on. Uh, I think it’s easy. Um, you know, for us, uh, it’s nothing to hide. There’s no wrong doing there. So, we just going to keep going as any other season. Um, my name might pop up, but it is what it is. Um, I’ve been through times like this before, just going through the year last year with going through the fire. Um, you know, um, soon as I came back that first game, my house and my community caught on fire. So, I don’t think it’s going to be harder than that. Thank you. Zoo up next. Let’s get ready for hoop jab.

  1. conspiracies? buddy it would make less sense if you weren't quilty given the absurd amount of detailed evidence. Do you think its normal to recieve nearly 50m for not doing anything for an endorsement deal that was never announced to the public. IThis after your uncle asked lakers and raptors for things outside the rules?

If that deal wasn't a cap circumvention play would be the crack pot conspiracy. Occam's razor says you and the clips flagrantly broke the rules.

the saddest thing is you forced them to do all this, to trade for pg at 400 cents on the dollar, and build a dynasty in OKC to the detriment of 29 other fan bases, meanwhile you dont even play half the games. you've been injured every post season. You won't play through a paper cut even in the playoffs. you never give a straight awnser about your health status. to demand more than a max when you don't even earn your contract is diabolical. Hope the NBA comes down hard on the clippers and voids Kawhi's deal. They should also fine him retroactively for ill gotten gains and that money should be donated to charities. Balmer should be suspended for a year and they shout lose multiple first round picks.

  2. Calling this a conspiracy is gaslighting 101. There is too much evidence and too many witnesses to take that seriously. If he said as far as he's concerned he doesn't think he did anything wrong and then asked for the investigation to play out, that would garner a little respect. Calling it a conspiracy is something no one with an ounce of critical thinking would take seriously.

  3. I like Kawhi Leonard, which is a huge compliment coming from me..

As a lifelong Rockets fan I despise, curse, hate, and dislike ALL good/great SPURS players; EXCEPT for Kawhi Leonard who I still rock with!

That being said these REPORTERS ALL NEED TO BE FIRED for the unethical, utterly shameless, undignified, incompetent, morally bankrupt, career ending, and totally unprofessional display of journalism!

  4. calling reporting "conspiracy" and "click bait" is a way to de-legitimize it publicly, similar to calling it "fake news". Also… this is the softest line of questioning and responses I have seen in a min.

  5. He was obviously coached on what to say and not say. The NBA is going to create as much of a soft-landing for Leonard and Ballmer as possible because they are involved in this to a certain degree as well. Plus, ppl realize now that the NBA is pathetically corrupt, as is evident by the Luka "trade," the ridiculous and deliberate lottery selection, and now this!

  6. This isn't a conspiracy, this is journalism with documentary evidence. The arrogance of Kawhi to say he "did no wrong" is both astonishing but not surprising. Guarantee the Clippers will be the most detested team in the NBA this year, sort of like the 2010-11 Miami Heat were, and all other 29 fanbases will band together to boo them.

  7. Yall so mad LOL. Unfortunately for you, Kawhi isn't going to be found guilty of anything… only Balmer and Clippers might. If they circumvented the cap, they'll get punished, but HE won't. He's chillin. Walking around all comfortable with his newly repaired knees… he can even bend down to plant a tree and get some of those nice carbon credits, if it wasn't against his beliefs, that is.

  8. “The question of conspiracy at this point is not ‘am I reporting a conspiracy theory’; the question is ‘why are you constructing one in the face of the evidence that is being provided?’” -Pablo Torre
