Great slate of baseball today. Hello everybody and welcome to Playbyplay with Dr. Lelay. I of course am Dr. Lelay. I just realized I don’t have the top button un uh buttoned here. Look how unprofessional I am folks. We’ve got some baseball today. Yes, I elected to go with the baseball game because this is a huge game. This is a huge game, folks. If the Reds win, they are in. Of course, if the Mets or the Reds lose, they will need some help. Again, what a slate of baseball for everybody today. So, the Yankees and the Orioles, they will square off soon. Again, all these teams playing at the same time. The Yankees also a team that might be fighting for that AL spot as you can see in the AL East. So, let’s start there real quick and then we’ll just gloss over we’ll gloss over that and we’ll come back to the NL. Blue Jays currently have the tiebreaker. Blue Jays need a win and they are in. Of course, again, pretty much the the the Yankee the Jays just need to match whatever the Yankees do. That’s pretty much what happens there for for the this game. Obviously, this is the game that everyone’s kind of paying attention to. Reds, Brewers. If the Reds win, it is all the Reds. If the What if the Mets Reds lose? If they both lose, the Reds still get in. So again, pretty much the Reds just need to do what the Mets do. If the Mets lose, well, the Mets lose, it’s pretty much eight. It’s it’s over. It’s over for the Mets. Um, so the Mets have to win and they have to have the Reds lose in order for the Mets to get it. So again, that’s just a bunch of stuff happening here. Very exciting. Hopefully it is a great keep it PG. What What did I do? Did I Did I say something bad? I may have. I apologize if I did. But again, it’s going to be a man, what what a what what a final day. This is what baseball is all about. You know, when it gets to the final day, this is the best part. This is the best part. Win and you’re in. Lose, see you later. So, hopefully we have a good one. So, according to ESPN, ESPN has um they’re giving the Brewers a 67% chance to win this game. And and the Reds, they they’ve just been unstoppable. They’ve been winning. They they’ve won the the last two games of the series. Well, the first two games of the series, I should say. You know, they won on Friday um by a score of three to one. And then in on Saturday, they won by a score of 7 to four. And of course, the Mets did win uh Saturday. I believe they lost Friday. Yeah, they lost Friday, which is kind of what puts this whole situation uh so crazy. So, yeah. Know the Mets, they are on the brink of elimination. And man, this could be just a crazy day. I of course will try to keep you guys updated with both games. I won’t be calling both of them at the same time, but I can indeed uh just pretty much check the score like every every few seconds really. I feel like that’s what I’m going to be doing when I clicked on you. You’re buttoning your top one. Oh. Oh. Oh, okay. I see. I see. I see. I see. I’m sorry. Okay, I got you. I got you. I got you. Yeah, my bad. Yeah, I had this unbuttoned there. Not professional at all. Okay, starting lineups for both of these teams. The Brewers, the home team, they will have Yelich at DH Turio in center. Terrain at second, Bowers at first. What in the world? Okay. Uh, Felic is in right, Durban is at third, Collins is in left, Monasterio at short, Jansen at catcher. Starting pitcher. It’s a good good great starting pitcher. Freddy Peralta has over 200 strikeouts on the year. He’s 17 and six, 2.68 or this is his 33rd start. He’s pitched 174 innings, 201 strikeouts, whip of a 1.09. He has been very good. We actually saw him in both I actually covered both these games. His last two starts against the Angels, 10 strikeouts and then six strikeouts against the Padres’s. last seven starts three and one with a 1.89 89 year a um whimp of a 089. Again, he has 53 strikeouts in the last seven games. Uh only allowing 18 hits. I mean, it’s just he’s good. He’s been on fire. So, that is your um starting lineup for the Brewers. Again, this just a career year there for the visiting Reds. And hey, the team that we’re kind of all like, hey, what what’s going to happen here? So starting lineup, Fredel is in center, Marte is in right, Lux is in left, and is dhing, Dela Cruz is at short, Steer’s at first, Kabrian Hayes is at third, Trevvinho is at catcher, and Mlan is at second. Starting pitcher for the uh Cincinnati Reds is Brady Singer. It would be such a heartbreaking if the Reds lose and the Mets win. It has been since 2020 since the Reds made. Yeah. No, it’s it’s a big game. Astros are playing the Ast Angels today. Did you? Yes, I did hear that. Sorry, Brandon. Sorry, Brandon. Yeah, know you guys were eliminated. Uh, Friday or Saturday? I can’t remember. All right. Brady Singer, the starting pitcher for the Reds. He’s 14 and 11 with a 3.95 year rate. This will be his 32nd start of the year. Uh, 158 strikeouts, whip of a 1.23. But I can tell you, yeah, those stats might not be the best. It’s an average pitcher. It’s not too bad. Last seven starts pretty good. 4-2 record, 2.85 RA. uh has 39 strikeouts in 41 innings. Um pitched a whimp of 98. His last start though against Pittsburgh was concerning. He did lose allowed four runs in five and a third innings against the Pirates. Seven hits uh against the Pirates. So that is a little bit of a concern, but you know again overall his last seven starts have been pretty good. So that is your starting pitcher for the Cincinnati Reds. We’re about four minutes away. I may have jumped the gun on when I should have started this stream, but man, again, this is going to be a very exciting uh end of the season, you know. Again, of course, you I have uh some Reds subscribers that have subscribed. Of course, Brewers fans as well. Plenty of Brewers fans. Like a lot of Brewers fans. So, I have no idea, Brandon. I’m lost there. But anyway, yeah. So, again, a lot of stuff happening. Of course, you know, if you guys are football fans, I of course will keep you guys up to date. Currently happening in the NFL, the Falcons up over the uh the commies 20 24-13. Bills up over the Saints 21-10. Lions up 20 to 10 over the Browns. Patriots up 35 to6 over the Panthers. Giants leading 13-10 over the Chargers. Eagles up over the Buccaneers 24-13. Texans shutting out the Titans 12 to nothing. Of course, my Steelers did win earlier. That was uh I I covered that one. And we are getting underway in some of these games. Uh none of those games I don’t think impact anything if I recall because everyone’s pretty much clinched. Now I don’t know if the Red Sox have clinched the number five or the number five spot, but you know, I guess that might be a thing again. I don’t know if the Tigers and the Indians I don’t know if they can get the the five if the Red Sox lose. I don’t know. But yeah, I guess we’ll find out after after us is all said and done. If the Reds win, they play the Dodgers. Oh, yeah. It it would be a uh Yeah, that that would be an interesting I think all of America’s pretty much going to be pulling for the Reds against the Dodgers. When it comes to the Mets and Dodgers, I feel like people are still going to be pulling for the Mets, but you know, I know most people are definitely pulling for the Reds to get in. Of course, the networks definitely want the Mets in. So there is that factor today. So but yeah, everything zero zero in the current games happening. And again, I don’t know how the wild card’s going to work out for the Red Sox, Tigers, and and uh Indians, but for the most part, everything’s been decided. Padre’s already playing the Cubs. that is official. Um, so yeah, definitely. And of course, the Dodgers host the winner of, you know, the the whoever gets the six seed. Texans haven’t scored yet.
