Hate him or love him, you have to admit that if we lose our next three games against the Giants, Patriots, and Bears, I find it difficult to believe that Kellen Moore and his staff will not discuss starting Shough. Honestly, I don't have high hopes based on how those teams are doing (especially with Dart now starting for the Giants), but I believe those are our best chances of getting a win before the bye.

It’s not that I hate him… It’s just the fact this sub has put blind faith in someone who has not won a single game as a 5th round pick who’s really not shown much since high school.
I don’t know if he’ll go past next week. If they don’t win this week vs. the Giants, he’ll sit him and put in Shough.
He needs to throw the ball down the field. With the way we ran the ball yesterday, we should have taken shots down the field. Averaging 4.7 yards per attempt will not get it done.

Rattler is only one of 3 QBs to start his career 0-10 and not throw for 250 yards. Stan Gelpaugh is one of them.
I think we pull it off against the Giants, but who knows. Regardless, he’s the best QB on the roster. He won the starting job, and Shough hasn’t suddenly gotten better than him over the past 4 weeks. And until he becomes the reason we’re losing, he keeps his starting spot.
Moore is a rookie HC, and the youngest coach in the league. If he takes away Rattler’s starting spot, and gives it to the rookie who lost the battle in the offseason after 4 games, where the rest of the team is making mistake after mistake, he will lose the respect of the locker room, and looked at as a guy who can’t handle the pressure and panics.
These are professional athletes, with their jobs as their livelihood. Moore would be setting a precedent that even if you win the job, your job isn’t safe if everyone around you is also messing up. That will create a horrible team culture, that we are already trying to get rid of.
Rattler is limited. But, our entire team is playing undisciplined and unable to make clutch plays. Until the latter gets fixed, you cannot make a QB change.
Idk man i want shough now. Rattler has surprised me by not being terrible but its clear we can’t win with him and we spent draft capital on shough so why not see what he can do. We know rattler can be at best a middle to bottom tier backup qb. Before we end up taking another qb high in the draft lets give the rookie some run

I don’t like the Saints or their QB situation, but putting it all on him is stupid. He’s actually improving and looked half decent against the Bills. Expecting a fifth round pick to be the savior of a neglected franchise is laughable.
I used to think the Giants were our best bet at a win. Dart got them boys fired up, that’s a tougher out now than it looked before
Best shot is the Giants IMO. Pats and Bears are winnable too but I just think the Giants are more in flux right now and Saints are home after a pretty decent showing against one of the best teams in football. He’s got a real shot to get it there.
I’m not a rattler fan but it’s not his fault. I’ve never seen so many dropped passes in crucial moments for a team through 4 games. And yes, first down drops are crucial drops, not just the TDs. Olave is trash all of a sudden when he had the most sure hands on the team. Makes you wonder if these dome shots he has been taking are making him worried to get hit. Johnson has always been trash. Rattler is still playing good enough to win games. He definitely needs more time and our veterans need to make some damn plays for him.

This is quickly approaching Deshon Kizer levels of bad
Defense is giving up 20+ in every game so far. I know his performance has been lackluster but the defense is making it hard to get a win. Add the special teams errors and penalties to the equation and it’s really an uphill battle.
I doubt Moore will change QBs unless he has a castastrophic performance.
Dan Orlovsky was a 5th rounder in 2005 and he went 2-10. Spencer Rattler is at a crossroads. He needs 2 straight wins and then he has a chance at a very successful career at ESPN.
