THIS CHANGES EVERYTHING For The Saints In Week 5 vs. NY Giants | New Orleans Saints News
[Music] The New Orleans Saints have received multiple impactful updates all around the injury front and we’re going to break it on down here on Saints Now by Chat Sports. We’re going to be talking about Caesar Ruiz, Taesm Hill, Foster Morrow, and Malik Neighbors here in this video. All of these updates are extremely impactful for the black and gold as the season continues to progress. My name is Trizy Trace Gerard. You’re watching Saints Now. And let’s start off first with the things outside of the team. Malik Neighbors, the big big injury news around the National Football League. He will be out for the season after suffering a torn ACL. And I can tell you a lot of us Saints fans were probably pretty upset about this because either A you’re an LSU fan and you wanted to see Malik Neighbors ball out, which is fair to say, or b you had Malik Neighbors on your fantasy team just like me and now you need a new wide receiver one because that’s just great news right there. Well, now it is impactful because obviously in this matchup this week, the Giants, they are coming down to the Superdome. Fun fact around this matchup, the last time the New Orleans Saints won a football game was actually up uh at Metife against the Giants when Brian Brezie blocked a field goal to secure the win. New York is onepoint favorites despite the Malik Neighbors injury news. And that is something that’s pretty interesting if you ask me. And I will tell you right now, if you want to get updates and get ready for this matchup, I encourage you to subscribe to the channel. Saints versus Giants is on Sunday, but we got content coming out all week long. Wednesday, the injury report will drop. Thursday, we will be live on uh 3 PM Central time here on Saints Now by Chat Sports. We’re going to go through a preview, going to go through keys to victory, our predictions for the matchup, and then on Sunday, Sunday, Sunday, live watch party 11:00 a.m. Central time. Hope to see y’all there. Now, Malik Neighbors is a really, really good football player for the Giants. I am really upset that he is hurt from the standpoint of I just like seeing good football players play quality football and Malik Neighbors obviously being out is really impactful against the Saints defense and he is going to be a player that the Giants offense and Jackson Dart severely will miss. This is something I want to make explicitly clear. We are not celebrating this injury. We are just informing you because this is important updates that directly impact our team. The wide receiver room in New York is as follows. Jaylen Hyatt, Juan Del Robinson, Darius Sllayton are now going to be the lead guys as receivers for New York. You also have a couple tight ends in the mix as well. But to be totally honest, this is a week I don’t care who’s on the other side of the field. The defensive backs need to shine. We have not seen enough quality football from Kool-Aid McKinstry and from insert other cornerback. It’s not fair to say Quincy Riley because Isaac Yadam’s been getting most of the run there. But we haven’t seen enough quality play from the defensive backs as a whole. You’re going against Brian Dable who’s coaching for his job. You’re going against Jackson Dart who just had his first start. And on top of that, they now are missing Malik Neighbors. So you really need to have a good week from your defensive backs if you want to see a win. And this is also a great opportunity for the DBs to really create some momentum and some confidence in that room. Jackson Dart will be the starting quarterback. Had a solid performance in uh week four. I’m not going to sit here and say it was amazing, but two total touchdowns, one in the air, one on the ground. He was sacked five times, 111 yards, had 54 yards on the ground as well on 10 carries. So, the Saints are going to need to find ways to take him down and to defeat Jackson Dart, who also will be heavily leaning on Cam Scataboo. We talked about the quarterbacks. These are the two players that I need to see have absolutely big days. Kool-Aid McKinstry obviously the starting quarterback. Opposite it’s going to be Quincy Riley. I think he should be getting the start. And for what it’s worth, if for some reason Isaac Adam is out there as a starter, maybe give him one series. He does no business being on the field. Quincy Riley is a much much better player. I’d rather watch a rookie develop and play decent football and give me hope than a 27, 28, 29y old veteran that just quite frankly stinks. You can see on your screen both of these players need to put up some good numbers. Quincy Riley, limited sample size. He’s had some good moments and I’ve been impressed with him thus far, but if he is the starter, I want to see him take a big leap moving forward. Now, coming up, we’re going to talk about some Saints news that have a massive impact. injury updates on Taesm Hill, Caesar Ruiz, Foster Morrow as promised. But, you know, we have to tell you guys the great news before we, you know, get into it. I I just couldn’t wait. I couldn’t wait. Taesm Hill, Foster Morrow. Ladies and gentlemen, clap it up. The tight ends are back, baby. They will practice this week. We’re going to talk about the news. We’re going to talk about this here because it is really, really important and it’s really good news for the Black and Gold specifically. I think that this offense is much better when these guys are around. I think that this will allow the Kellen more offense to really open up. We don’t know if they’re going to play yet. We’re going to talk about it in a moment. But ladies and gentlemen, this is why you subscribe to the channel. We provide news. We provide updates. We provide live shows. We do it all all week long, all 365 days a year. Doesn’t matter if the Saints are 0 and four, 4 and 0, or it’s draft season. We’re going to be here every single day providing you coverage. Now, we also have to talk about the important injury update first. Uh, breaking news coming in from Ian Rapaort as we are filming this live show. We told you we do live shows, we break the news on the live show. Uh, Ian Rapaort making this report uh, public. Caesar Ruiz suffered a high ankle sprain, which is a 4 to six week injury. That makes him a candidate to go on injured reserve. So, for the New Orleans Saints, that is something to consider. Caesar Ruiz will be out for the next handful of weeks. He’s already been ruled out for this week by Kell Moore. gonna have to see what happens with him. It’s unfortunate because the starting O line finally got to get on the field. We finally got to see the starting five out there and I thought that they looked pretty good. Then the Ruiz injury settles in. Torres Simpkins gets elevated to the starting role because of the Ruiz injury and now we have to see him out for the next four to six weeks. So, you know, hopefully his recovery can go well and go quickly and we all know that he needs to just overall be better, but now he’s hurt. So, no excuses can be made for Caesar Ruiz because he’s knocking down the field. Now, let’s talk about some good news here. Talk some bad. Let’s go back to the good news here. Boston Morrow and Taesm Hill, they’re eligible to return to the Pup list this week and Kell Moore spoke to media today on Monday and he said that they’ve been cleared to play or not clear to play, they’ve been cleared to return to practice. They are eligible to return to practice. In terms of whether or not they will play games, that’s still to be decided. We’ll have to wait for the injury report to come out, but here is what the tight end room in New Orleans currently looks like. Really nothing crazy. Joan Johnson, a lot of you guys are frustrated with him, understandably so. Jack Stole, I thought, has had some good moments. Maliki Mataval starting to get a little bit more run each and every week, but this tight end room is leaving a lot of meat on the bone. You’re leaving your plate full with still or with opportunities, whether it’s dropped passes, missed or missed blocks. It just feels like this offense hasn’t really been opened up. It feels like the tight end position has been underutilized and quite frankly underwhelming in my opinion. Now, it is worth noting the tight end Taesm Hill, in case you forgot, he did recently rework his contract and originally when this was made public information, uh people thought, “Oh my gosh, is this the retirement rework? Is this one of those things to clear up the money?” yada yada yada. It’s actually not any of that. This is a way for the New Orleans Saints to ensure that they are getting some of that money back if Taesm Hill cannot play. If Hill is active, then he’s going to make his money. But if he is inactive for games from weeks five through 18, Taesm Hill will lose $500,000 each game. So that is something worth noting. He had the highest, if not the second, I think it was the highest, I believe. So he had an extremely astronomically high cap hit going into this season. And now the New Orleans Saints are able to recoup some of that money if he is unable to play, which I think is good for the Saints. It encourages Taesm Hill to get back out on the field. And I think it’s a win-win for everybody because Taesm Hill still gets some of that money in those first four weeks and he still gets money if he’s able to play. It’s an incentive to get back on the field. Now, in terms of a timeline, don’t necessarily know because it was a knee injury torn ACL, severe damage to his knee in December and it takes some time to get back. So, we’ll have to see when he’s eligible to actually play. But for Taesm Hill, the Saints, they have themselves covered. And from a financial standpoint, and I think that this offense, like I said earlier, much much better when both of these players are available. But it’s specifically number seven. I mean, come on. This guy’s a unicorn. And I don’t care what you want to say. You can say he’s not a true quarterback. They don’t help us win. Blah blah blah blah blah blah blah. I’ve seen the comments. I’ve seen the people already saying it on the shorts tab when the injury news came out. I don’t care. This is a player who makes your team better. This is a player who makes game day more fun. It’s a player who gives this team a better opportunity to win. And of course, you don’t want to go and win all these games and make the playoffs and lose your high draft pick, but we start winning games and that idea is going to completely shift back to we need to go win and make the playoffs. So, it’s kind of one of those things. It’s too early to sit here and say, “Heck yeah, Taesm Hill is back because he’s on the field.” Yes. But it’s only in a practice regard. And I do think this will be a an elevation and an activation that will ultimately help improve the Saints offense in FOS in uh same with Foster Morrow. I think that he is going to raise the overall talent level of the tight end room in the tight end position. Obviously Foster Morrow is more of a true tight end whereas Taesm Hill is just an offensive weapon. You really can’t designate him one position. Ta Mill throws the ball, runs the ball, catches the ball, blocks, does literally everything. He does everything. The Fostam Mororrow is a true tight end and he’s an experienced player who is a very competent guy and I think can make a major impact to the Saints offense. The tight end position, like I said earlier, has been a bit underwhelming so far. And hopefully with these two players returning from injury, it can improve very, very soon. Again, we don’t know exactly when they will be eligible to return. If I had to put a guess on it, I think Foster Mororrow would be more likely to play sooner than Taesm Hill. That being said, we are going to have to wait and see. Mo Wednesday, the injury report will come out. It always drops around Wednesday or Wednesday around like 3:30 to 4:00 p.m. Central time. So, we’ll know more about these guys uh on Wednesday. But for now, feels like we got some pretty good news and some pretty good updates. So, I want you to get in the comments section, share your thoughts. Be the GM, be the head coach, and maybe look into your crystal ball. When will Taesm Hill and Foster Morrow return to the Saints offense? Get down in the comments section, share your thoughts. I want to hear from you, Hudat Nation. We talked about a lot of impactful news here on the show. My name is Trizy Trace Gerard. We got injury updates on Malik Neighbors. He is out for this season. Saints play the Giants next week. Caesar Ruiz, four to six weeks injury with a high ankle sprain. Candidate to go on IR. Taesm Hill Boston tomorrow. They are eligible to return to practice. We will see when they are able to play and we will have to wait till Wednesday to get the injury designation on the injury report. You’re watching Saints Now by Chat Sports. My name is Trusy Trace Gerard. Y’all stay golden and we’ll see you next time. [Music]

Gaints going down this week for sure.
Let's go saints 😂 dart having playing against no top defense now show up
Week 6 and 7 thank you for all the saints news you are truly appreciated I live in. Arkansas and we dont get no saints news at all, ao I depend on you
Hill and Moreau cannot play until after week 6. That is exactly what the pup list is
Tush push should a real thing with Taysom. We have to get into that position but
Taysom yes brings some play making ability but DO NOT put him in at quarterback at all. Rattler plays better with rhythm and putting Hill at quarterback breaks that rhythm plus Taysom SUCKS AS A QUARTERBACK!!!!!!
I honestly like how we’ve been competing besides the Seattle game
Cap
I'm being petty here, but since Kellen didn't want to put Simpkins in, football fate decided to intervene. Wish him the best (on another team), and a speedy recovery.
Can Spencer rattler please throw down field?!
Should be the first dub
If taysom plays our season will get turned around we need him fr
0-5
Dart and skattebo about run all over that defense
#44 is who I'm worried about
Taysom Hill Should be qb1
LET MY 🥷🏿 QUINCY RILEY #29 START OPPOSITE OF KOOL-AID!!! HE’S A 🤬 DAWG!!!!
I see 8-9 more losses on both the Bucs and falcons schedule and I only realistically see maybe 2 more on our schedule this season can completely flip come nov Dec this is were we will see what Kellen’s made of we could go on. A run and we’re getting healthy right on time 😊
This is great. Taysom and Foster are a big piece of our offense. Hopefully with them returning, we will be better in the redzone
We're going to have to stop that running back scattabo. If we don't stop him they will run the ball down our throat. Then nothing else matters
Trace, let’s face it, if you do not tackle, it does not matter
If we can stop Dart & Skatebo & score we will win..
