Troy Aikman: The Bengals gave ‘an embarrassing effort’ in loss to Broncos | SC with SVP
joined now by Joe Buck, Troy Aman, and Joe, I was mentioned in Denver, frankly, could have a better record than just two two and two, but they’re going to head east uh next Sunday on a short week to take on a 4-0 Eagle team. Shawn Payeyton, after this 60 Minutes that is on tape, will be most pleased about what do you think tonight? Uh I think it’s it’s got to start with his quarterback. Um but the ground game and I think, you know, those two go hand in hand. Uh we just heard an interview with Lisa and Bo Nicks. I don’t know if it’s aired yet or not, but uh he talked about that and and the defense. I mean, the defense is so good and and will continue to get better as the season goes. Um there there’s a lot to like with this Denver team and and I I think Shawn Peyton is all in on Boicks. I mean, all in. So he combined with this young man will figure out ways to win games, but when they can run the ball like they did tonight, you they’ve got a lot of weapons on the outside. They’re going to be a handful uh I think next week and for the weeks to come. And you’re right. I mean it’s you are what your record says you are. There’s no doubt about that. But uh you know they they could have a much better record than two and two. Troy, we talked before the game about Bon Knicks and certain things you’re hoping to see. Did you see some of those flashes tonight in this convincing victory? Uh yeah. Yeah, I did. And uh you know, there were some drops. There were some There’s always things you can clean up. I mean, it’s it’s hard to argue with 500 yards of total offense, but yet but yet we can argue about some things, which kind of tells you kind of the problems that are happening on the other side with the Cincinnati Bengals. But yeah, I think Bo Knicks is going to be just fine. And and if they can if they can continue to run the ball, they’re not going to run it the way they did tonight each and every week. But if they can lean on that a little bit more, have a little more consistency like they had this evening. It takes so much of the pressure off of Bo Nicks. But I I I do like him. He played a lot of college football. He was more prepared than most coming into this game or coming into this league. And then last year did a lot of great things. And and with the defense, that defense will be top five defense by the end of the year. So, uh, I fully expect the Broncos to be right in the hunt all the way till the end. Troy, I appreciate your cander. I know our viewers do as well. And look, this Cincinnati, uh, night tonight was a disaster. They had 11 penalties that were accepted. They scored just three points. They’ve been outscored 76-13 the last two weeks. They were 2-0. We understand Burrow got hurt. Browning helped lead him to a comeback win to get to 2 and 0, but the wheels have totally fallen off the bus in these last two games. A long list of things to fix. Where do you even start if you’re the Bengals? Well, were were you setting me up so I’d give you an unvarnished opinion where I just be in the headlines tomorrow night? I’m not trying to get you in trouble. I just I’m just like it wasn’t a work of art tonight. I think that’s a fair way to frame it. Yeah. No, this this was an embarrassing effort. I I think Zack Taylor will be the the first to tell you that there was nothing that you walk out of this stadium feeling good about. And so, where do you start? Gosh, how about let’s just start with uh not being penalized so much or pre- snap, which is kind of what they teach you back in Pop Warner football. You know, how to get lined up and how to get the ball snapped without taking a penalty. So, you know, it’s interesting, Scott, that for for a organization that’s been so good offensively for so many years, in three of the four games, they’ve had 170 yards of or less of total offense, and their lowest total was week one with a healthy Joe Burrow. So this there’s not a lot to get excited about right now. And uh you know that’s it. But we got this. Joe, we got this. We got three in one Jacksonville. We got two and two Kansas City with a lightning bolt. Big win, huh? Ready to get excited and go down to North Florida? Let’s do it. I can’t wait. You going to be there? Are we going to see you there? Yeah. Come on. I mean, we got to come to New York for the double header. We’ll be down. We’ll see you there. Travel safe. Let’s do it. You guys are the best. I appreciate you. Thank you, Scott. Heat. Heat. [Music] [Applause] [Music]

Just remember you played the best Secondary in the League Bengals
don't get discouraged, its up uphill from here
That rookie reff really made me mad. Who hired that fool???????, hes from the xfl or something hes a liability as a reff
Go Broncos
Broncos 2-2 but feel like they should be 1-3 at best.
The Bengals showed a lot of grit in the final 30 seconds of the game on those kneeldown plays. I wouldn't be surprised if that instills some courage in them and they run the table
No doubt my mind we would have lost to the Jets tonight
CIN defense needs to figure out how to defend those screen plays and outlet to the flat passing plays which are kind of 2 sides of the same coin
