Bulls Media Day Recap: Giddey Locked In, Coby Hurt, Matas Confident

Bulls media day. We’ve got quite a few storylines headed into this season. From Josh Giddy’s contract extension to Modus Buselis’s goals headed into next season. Here’s everything you need to know from Bulls media day. First up, Giddy. He’s locked in for 4 years, 25 million per year, and he said that Chicago feels like home. Pretty big, you know, weight off my shoulders. You know, this was where I wanted to be. They they embraced me from day one. Kobe White has free agency coming up next summer. AK made it clear they love Kobe and they want him here long term, but there’s a little bit of a concern going into this season. He’s dealing with a calf strain that he sustained in August. Strain my calf like a month ago. Uh so I’ve been dealing with that. So I’ll be pretty limited um this first week of training camp and then see how it goes. So still ramping up right now. Um but I’m in a good space. They’re hoping he’ll be back before the preseason ends, but as Bulls fans, it’s pretty natural to feel concerned when a point guard is injured headed into the season. No panic buttons yet. We’ll see how things go in the preseason. Mus sounded confident. He said he’s working on shooting, ball handling, and defense, saying he wants to be coached like an alldefensive type player. He even threw out some personal goals, winning most improved player and proving that the Bulls will surprise people this year. I always think of it like this, like if if somebody if somebody’s done it, I’m I can do it, too. And if if nobody’s done it, I’m going be the first one to do it. So, Billy Donovan praised Noah Asenge’s instincts and feel for the game, saying that he has a huge edge coming into the league as a young player, but no commitment yet on what his role will look like this season. This is going to be a process for him, but he’s a great kid. He’s a really good worker and I think just instinctively he really knows how to play the game and that’s a huge advantage for a young player. Iodunu and Trey Jones are healthy and ready to go. It sounds like there’s a lot of healthy competition this year with certain position battles like Isaac Auro and Patrick Williams. Even backup roles like Trey Jones, Iotau Yuki Kowamura. So even though the Bulls aren’t expected to be a playoff team this year, I do still think that there’s a lot of excitement headed into this season. But what do you guys think? Is this just normal media day hype?
