Knicks get incredible news that could be a game-changer!

I’ve I’ve heard that there’s a decent chance Mitchell Robinson is going to start over Josh Hart. The Knicks are going to start double big in Towns and Mitchell Robinson. They haven’t confirmed that. They haven’t unconfirmed it. Uh there’s photos leaking out of practice of Mitchell Robinson in the starters jerseys and Josh Hart in the bench jerseys. Kind of like this for the Knicks. I think it is um it worked in the playoffs when Mitchell Robinson rebounded everything and gave them some rim protection that cat can’t give them. I think it’s their best shot at having a a championship worthy defense. Uh as long as they don’t overwork Mitchell Robinson and they have the depth to not do that. Just just But I like seeing what the double big lineup looks like. Um the risk for Cat is it’s something he’s done before. He’s going to have to guard power forwards and wings a lot of the times. And he’s actually okay one-on-one like he guarded Durant in the playoffs with the Wolves and he did that well. um when he starts to have to move around and help and communicate, it can get a little dicey. The Knicks toyed against the Pacers when they did went double big with putting um with putting Cat on Seak with putting a cat on Miles Turner and inverting the matchups and putting Mitchell Robinson on Seakum. I don’t I just don’t want Cat on the main guy setting picks for the other team. you can attack him no matter where he is, have his guys screen no matter what. But like I just would like him off the main screen setter, even if he’s like, you know, a shooting five or whatever. Um, and I think it’s a good pathway to like offensive innovation for them. It’s going to force them to innovate a little bit. You don’t want Cat to be just a spot up guy around Mitchell Robinson screening and diving, turning him into turn him into a handoff hub. You know, run pick and roll on one side, then kick it and run pick and roll with cat on the other side. They’re going to get good offensive rebounding. I like it. I think it’s worth trying. I think it makes the Nick ceiling higher. So, there’s been a lot of chatter the past couple of days about who the Knicks are going to use as their fifth starter. We’ve talked about Deuce. We’ve talked about Hart Mitch, but it appears Mike Brown has all but made his decision. Mike Brown has spoken about rim protection and size. And Cat is honestly probably better at the four versus than at the five. Cuz if you’re going to use Cat at the five, you’ve got to go five out. So, to that point, you’d want to have deuce to space the floor. But the Knicks were using hard. It just never really made sense to begin with. then it’s easy to see why the Knicks were so exposed in the playoffs with certain lineups like that lineup was even in the regular season the the starting five of OG Hart Bridges Brunson and and Cat I think it was like 3.3 points uh positively that’s just not going to get it done. You’re not winning a championship with a starting five like that. But Mitch when he’s healthy you know he’s easily one of the most impactful players on that team. You could argue he’s even the second most impactful player next to Brunson because of those rebounds, because of those screens, blocking shots. Teams were intentionally felling Mitchell Robinson to get him out of the game. Like literally Joe Mazula talked about, yeah, we were hacking him because we wanted him to come out of the game. There’s really just no one else on the Knicks outside of Brunson that has like that type of impact where it’s like you want to get them out of the game. And Cat was at his best without Brunson because the defense. So the Knicks have to balance off balance out their offense and their defense. And the best way to do that is without question going to Mitch. If they go to Deuce, he doesn’t have enough size honestly probably to get the Knicks to where they want to go. So the alternative to that is to go to Mitch. Of course, there’s going to be some concerns with them. But the Knicks are going to have all of the preseason, all of the regular season to figure that out. Whereas in game three of the Eastern Conference Finals, they decided to go to Mitch next to Cat and they didn’t have enough reps. I mean, I get at the end of games they were using them together, but it just wasn’t enough time. You’re not beating a team like the Indiana Pacers if you’re not prepared, if you don’t have any depth, and if you’re have tired legs, right? So, in terms of what the rotation is going to look like with Mitch starting, well, let’s talk about it, man. Let’s come up with it. I’m going go to my notes app. So at the one Brunson at the two male three is going to be OG. The four is going to be Cat. At the five is going to be Mitchell Robinson. Sixman Jordan Clarkson. I guess I should have drank a coffee before this because I completely forgot to put Josh Hart on the bench. It’s embarrassing as a Knicks creator. That honestly changes everything. How does this even work? Like because Clarkson, Deuce, and Brogden are obviously all playing. And then Hart that makes Oh, wait. Hart could play the four and then Yasale at the five. I don’t I mean I get Hart kind of has to play at the four being real. All right. So now it’s Brogden, Du’s Clarkson, Hart, and Yabasale. That leaves Hucki and Sham out of the rotation, which is a little bit disappointing. That That’s why when Mike Brown was like, “We’re going to play nine to 10 guys,” a lot of Knicks fans were super super hyped. I’d rather the Knicks play more than that because like what about Well, Dad is probably the odd man out from what we’re being told. The Athletic reported that Dier like clearly has the best trade value between him and Kick because he’s younger and he’s 6’7. Kick’s like six foot or actually I think Kick’s like 6’2. But now all of a sudden Shamut who the Knicks are going to bring back and because they’re bringing him back, they’re going to move on from Dier and Sham’s not even going to be playing every night. Hooki you’d think with two big starting is going to come out here and get good minutes. Not exactly because Hart is going to play the four and then Yas at the five and then you got Clarkson Duce and Brockton. Like all five of those guys obviously are playing. Like literally there’s no debating it. All five of them will play. I don’t know how I feel about that. I I really don’t. It just it makes me wonder. It’s like why even kind of keep like a Tyler Kick on the roster if he has no chance of playing unless it’s a blowout. Doesn’t really make sense. like I’d rather to that point him just be in the G- League playing every day and every night and developing. So there there’s concerns with Mitch in the sense of obviously the free to throw shooting I mean he can’t shoot so he’s not going to be able to space the floor and then the bench depth is just confusing because there’s no size like Yabasale I don’t how tall is Yabas he’s I don’t even think he’s 610 Ganon Yabasale Yabasale is 668 yeah so the Knicks are going to play a Hart who’s 6’4 at the four and Yabiselli who’s 6’8 eight in the the front court. I don’t know how I feel about that. Let me know how you guys think though. Seventh man is going to be deuce. Eighth man is Yavis. Actually, Obviously is probably gonna have to Well, that we we’ll talk about where they’re going to play, but so we’ll go with because now with Mitch starting, they’re going to need a big off the bench unless they plan on playing either Mitch or Cat the whole game, but I highly doubt that. Shamut certainly. Uh, you know, also Malcolm Brogden. Brogden. Oh my god, it’s auto correction. It’s okay, cool. I mean, if we’re being like actually like realistic realistic, Jordan Clarkson is the sixth man. And the deuce is the seventh. Eighth is going to be Yava. Ninth is going to be Brogden. And then the 10th man would be Hook Porty. And then 11th man will be Shami. I think that’s exactly how the Knicks are going to do the rotation. If we’re going off of positions, that’s where things kind of get a little bit tricky. So they have to go at the one Brogden, the two would be Deuce, the three would be Clarkson, and then Gershon, and then Hook 40, followed by Shamut as the sort of guy if in case they do want to expand that or maybe they want to play a different matchup. up. This is kind of my thing with Lander Shamut is if you want to keep Shammit and Brogden then you have to trade either Tyler Kolkatti or Deuce McBride but where where would you play Sham because you’ve got Brogden deuce and Clarkson there’s no room for Shammit and then you want size. So Gabele of course already paid so he’s going to play he’s good and then Hook 40. This is a large reason why I actually was for starting deuce because if Oh, wait. I forgot about Josh.

  1. Start Mitch especially since Hart’s finger looks like a deformed pickle (pause). With Gershaun and Ariel we have some size off the bench. Let’s go big and prioritize defense and a fluid offensive system

  2. Yea this isn’t a good idea at all. Maybe against teams like Utah but this is not going to work against the elite teams. It didn’t work well in the playoffs , that’s a lie. Check the numbers.

  3. That why I’m saying start deuce because the bench is super unbalanced aside from the pros and cons of starting deuce. You starting 5 of brusnon/deuce/mikal/og/kat and you bench being Brogdon/clarkson/hart/yabu/mitch and shamet being the 11th man that’s way more balanced

  4. JB, Bridges, OG, KAT and Mitch? That is a hell of a starting line up. Heart off the bench to help push the ball and give that extra energy off the bench. Heart coming off the bench with Deuce, Clarkson, Yabusele, Huckporti, Brogdon, Shamet. This is a solid Bench! We just may take it all the way with this squad!

  5. J Brunson – M. Brogdon

    M. Bridges – J. Clarkson

    O Anunoby – J. Hart

    K. Towns – G. Yabusele

    M. Robinson – A. Hukporti

Knicks need to trade Towns. we are only playing Mitch at 5 cause Towns is soft and it is killing our size. we traded Randle for his size and him to play the 5. we now let Thibs go and lets see but mid season trade him if he isn't looking like a MVP deadass cause then Brunson will have to be Kobe and maybe so but nah i rather go witha sure deal and these are a few cause Mitch playing more he will get hurt and we out bigs

Towns, Robinson, Dadiet for Markkanen, Kessler, Love ( thats 3 bigs for basically one)

    J Brunson – J Clarkson
    M. Brogdon – M. Bridges
    O Anunoby – J. Hart
    L. Markkanen – G. Yabusele
    W. Kessler – K. Love

    and I would trade McBride

  6. Start with the big lineup. Then stagger Kat and Mitch until closing time. Play Mitch like 25-27 minutes to keep him fresh. Same for the wings. Deuce and Clarkson will basically play SG off the bench with Brogdon playing PG.

  7. This team is loaded with talent ! There is a log jam at the SG !
If they decided to start Mitchell ,
I’d encourage Brown to use a 9 man rotation … with Brogdon at 2 PG , Clarkson at 2 SG , Hart at 2 SF and Yabusele at 2 PF when Towns plays center with the second unit or Brown plays Hukporti with that unit
There is little need to keep Landry Shamat , if the Knicks keep McBride .
But I think if there is a trade , it’s Duece that will get them their biggest return ! Not Dadiet ! Duece is a proven player and could start for many teams !
I wouldn’t trade Kolek or Dadiet . I also like their exhibit 9 and 10 players including Diawara , Mc Cullers , Jemison , and Evbuomwan
All are young and capable of being developed into lower cost contributing NBA players for the next two or three years !
