This was an incompletion but mah gawd. Caleb has some accuracy issues that crop up but it seems like every game he has a sack escape, keeps his eyes up while on a full sprint, and throws a rocket with both feet off the ground.

The ball placement on this throw is spectacular. Low and away, with a DB draped all over his target.

Keep an eye out for a play just like this again against the Commanders!

Caleb's signature trick is the sack-escape-to-sideline-missile

  1. He said indeed his idol growing up was Aaron Rodgers. Also a specialist at that.
Let’s hope we have something close to similar.

  2. The way he runs and just fires the ball without patting it is incredible, definitely his “signature” unique play.

  3. What on earth are these announcers talking about? There’s no room on the sideline? There was plenty of room. Tough catch but Kmet has to make that play..

  4. Kmet was having a rough game yesterday. This was definitely not a perfect throw but he definitely looked like he should have had that one. And the other 2 he missed.

I would say this is one of the better throws he needed to try and make and was as close and accurate as he could get with this type of move and player placement!

  5. Unfortunately I think defenses have this scouted now. Guys are staying home and not losing their guy in coverage.

Caleb will need to think of a good counter punch now.

  6. Learned from Jay: https://www.reddit.com/r/nfl/comments/11n2fqq/highlight_jay_cutler_throws_a_dot_right_into_the/

  7. That Kemet couldn’t hang on too.
Cole did not have a good game. I think he will bounce back.

  8. I remember last year I think it was Keenan Allen that had a quote in training camp basically saying “Weirdly, he’s *more* accurate when he’s moving”. It’s a crazy phenomenon, he’s got an absolute rocket on his shoulder and it’s only improved by running

  9. He’s done this so much that they really need to drill for it in practice because more often than not no one gets open.

  10. I watched a video where somebody wasn’t talking about quarterback styles, and emulating them… When he got to Caleb, it was just him running around for 20 seconds before throwing it… I really hate how accurate it is

  11. Unfortunately for every one of these there’s two or three (even in this game) where he does the same thing, evades the sack and scrambles sideways and then instead of running for an easy 5-10 yards throws an off balance throw towards a sideline receiver which misses.

He should take the yards more often. This was second down though and he had no choices.

  12. I agree it should be a catch. Still a hard catch nonetheless. My question is who on the team do we think would catch that, who do we think would drop it?

  13. feels good to win

had we not blocked that FG guarantee someone woulda posted this sequence as a criticism on accuracy or “hero-ball” or whatever

  14. Trapilo looks good in this rep, too. Crosby gets pressure because Caleb is forced to vacate the pocket due to Benedet getting worked.

  15. I was FLOORED by this play. Sure, he didn’t get the completion, but this was perfect in every other way from him.

  16. Watching Fields play on monday night football and he can do the esxape but his eyes never get downfield like caleb

  17. Tough to catch a spicy meatball like that falling to your weak side…but Kmet still has to get those. That’s the life of the TE – making the tough bailout catches.

  18. Watching MNF and seeing Browning escape the pocket only to throw it out of bounds again and again reminds me not to take those throws for granted. Literally making something out of nothing.

I know we’re only 2-2, but it’s nice to watch other teams and come away appreciating aspects of what the Bears do instead of constantly feeling like “why can’t we do stuff like that?”

  19. People saying it’s a tough catch lol he has a 1st round draft pick in his position just waiting for his turn.

If that doesn’t motivate him to make plays then nothing will.
