Chicago Bears OVERREACTIONS After Win vs. Raiders: Caleb Williams Clutch Gene + More Takeaways

[Music] It’s time for overreaction Monday here on Chicago Bears now after a second straight win. Is this real life? Bears win 2524 over the Raiders. My name is Harrison Graham. Like it up, baby. 994 likes on last week’s overreaction victory Monday episode. Can we top it? Can we hit 1,000 likes on today’s show? If you’re still fired up after the win last night, go ahead and smash that like button. All right, let’s get to some overreactions here. Uh, does Caleb have the clutch gene? Yes, for Smok and Jace. He had it last year. That’s one thing he consistently had is he would put the team in position a lot to win the game and for whatever reason most times it would not work out. Coaching errors, defense, someone else, blocked field goal. But, uh, he showed it again yesterday. first half a little kind of all over the place. Max Crosby is making plays left and right. Caleb after the game said he’s the best player he’s gone up against in the NFL. Uh I’ll say yesterday it’s one of the most dominant individual first quarters I’ve ever seen. Um you know, pass game was just a little out of sync. Uh they couldn’t run the ball, which we’ll talk about the run game, but second half calmed things down, more efficient, more accurate. uh threw a touchdown, led that game-winning drive, which on that final drive, four of five, 42 yards, scrambled a couple times, got 18 yards rushing, too. So, I think he went for 60 of the team’s like 70s something yards on that final drive. So, uh really nice to see him uh deliver in that moment again to give them a late lead. And then, of course, Josh Blackwell sealed it a couple minutes later. Uh Caleb said this when he was asked about the game-winning drive. He said, “Ben came over to me right before and said, “These are the times you’re made for.” went into the huddle, looked everyone in the eyes and said, “This is the moment.” And it’s just so big to win that game. And yeah, you know, it’s the Raiders, just like last week was the Cowboys. I saw Dallas put 40 on Green Bay last night. Every week in the NFL is different. Matt Eberloose won zero games on the road on a Sunday as the Bears head coach. So to go in there and to win that game on the road in a game you didn’t play that well in for a good chunk of it, I I think it’s pretty meaningful. How many times last year, like I said a minute ago, did Caleb put the Bears in position to win and they would lose for whatever reason, the Hail Mary uh debacle, the um the game against uh uh Detroit on Thanksgiving where the coach just doesn’t know what to do, settling for the longer field goal against Green Bay which ends up getting blocked. I mean, that’s one thing Caleb has shown consistently well. And now he’s just playing better overall, which is obviously a good thing, but uh to see them drive down late in a game like that where things weren’t always working, uh that was nice to see. And obviously it was awesome to have Josh Blackwell seal it. Uh okay. Was this a culture changing win? Because that’s been thrown out there. I’ll go three smoking Jay’s on that. I I do think it certainly could end up being that. I do think it’s an important win regardless. everyone is important, but to win on the road in a game uh where uh not a lot uh was was happening in terms of creating your own success offensively, especially early on, I I do think it’s big to come from behind in the fourth quarter and deliver a win. Ben Johnson said that after the game. He said, quote, “We’re building something special here, and I think they’re feeling the belief they have in each other and in the coaching staff. This is a huge win for our team, finding a way in the fourth quarter and coming out on top. I thought that was outstanding for us. Proud of our guys.” Caleb added this in his postgame press. He said, “I think the belief is there. These moments were b born for and I’m born for being able to portray the belief of guys. This is all we got. This is all we need. We’re down. It’s all 11 of us. We got to go do a job. The belief, trust, and hard work we put in. Those are the moments you wish for and dream about.” And look, I I’ve said this before and I said it again. I said it leading up to this game. This was an empty the tank game. I I didn’t think it would be pretty. I thought the Bears would win, but I thought Vegas would come out and play hard. They certainly did. I was worried that this could be the Ashen Genty breakout game. It was, but this isn’t college football. It’s not about style points. It’s about do you win or do you lose? Now, obviously, some weeks you just kind of have these normal, comfortable victories like you did last week. Some weeks you just get beat like you did in week two against the Lions. Uh in other games, kind of like week one when you lost and week three against and this week against the Raiders, they’re kind of more 50/50. And do you find a way to win or do you find a way to lose? And yesterday they found a way to win on the road against a desperate team. I don’t know how good the Raiders are. I think they’re more formidable than they’ve been in recent years, but clearly they probably have a long way to go. Uh but sometimes you just got to find a way. The NFL is weird. Every week is different. So to get back to 500, to win in the way that they did, I I think it does build uh some just confidence boosting points within that locker room. How good for Bears fans does it feel to win a game like this? I mean, how many times have we been on the other side of that exact game? I know week one wasn’t an exact carbon copy of that, but it’s like week one they should have won. They lost yesterday. I don’t know. I I know you won the Turbo Power, but it felt like a probably should have lost and you won. So, like to win a game like that, I mean that that feels pretty damn good. I’m I’m I’m in the 90s. That felt pretty damn awesome. All right, a few more things to attack here on Overreaction Monday. But first, do want to tell you guys about our awesome sponsor, Prize Picks. You and I make decisions every day, but on Prize Picks, being right can get you paid. Don’t miss any of the excitement this season on Prize Picks, where it’s good to be right. Your boy hit a nice three player lineup yesterday, and I’m back for more with a couple games tonight, as Prize Picks is the best daily fantasy sports app to earn money this football season. How wild is it, by the way, that picking Bears players and taking the more on their stat projections is actually working out. Uh, what world are we living in? And by the way, Price Picks, I don’t think I’ve mentioned this, is the only app that offers stacks, meaning you can pick the same player up to three times in the same lineup. Want to pick more on Caleb Williams pass yards, rush yards, and touchdowns? Now, you can do so in the same lineup only on price picks. The way price picks works is simple. You pick more or less on stat projections on two to six player lineups, and you’re good to go. For tonight, I got another three player lineup for you. Justin Fields, remember his crazy game against the Dolphins a few years ago when he rushed for 178 yards? Well, they played the Dolphins tonight, the Jets, too. Give me the more on his longest rush being 14 and 1.5 yards. Need a 15 yard scramble or more. I’m in a good spot there. Bo Nicks, I like the more on his passing, 220 and a half passing yards. This is a must-win spot for Denver. Can’t fall to one and three. I think he bounces back. And then I’ll take less on Jake Browning. 217 and a half passing. That was ugly last week. Uh, I think uh he could continue to have some struggles. $20 entry to win $120 there. Prize Pix.com/ns is the place to go. Download the Prize Pix app today. Use our code cls to get $50 in lineups after you play your first $5 lineup. That’s code cls to get $50 in lineups after you play your first $5 lineup. Price fix. It’s good to be right. Okay. Do the Bears have major run game problems for smoking Jays. There’s no doubt. And that’s on both sides of the ball. They struggled to run the ball and they struggled to stop the run. I said it all week. I did a full up video on this. Don’t let this be the Ashen Genty breakout game. So, the fact that it was and you still won this game does speak volumes. Uh because he ran wild. Uh he had that long touchdown run, but then he had a lot of more just physical runs wearing down the defense. Uh he was dominant. That that was the top 10 pick that a lot of teams were interested in uh that we hadn’t seen a ton of in the first three weeks of the year. Obviously, the Bears run defense has had issues all year, but Genty exploited those in a major major way. And by the way, Raheem Moster had four carries for 62 yards, the number two back. So, I mean, they uh they absolutely dominated. I mean, just look at this. I mean, the Bears 2.7 yards per carry, 69 yards on 26 carries. The Raiders on just five more carries had 240 rushing, 7.7 average. you shouldn’t win a game like this, but when your quarterback severely outplays theirs, even though Caleb didn’t play great, uh that kind of evens things out. Uh but it’s tough to win consistently when you can’t run the ball and you can’t stop the run. Like to to have both of that be an issue through the first month is it’s a concern. There’s no question. You’re you know, you should feel pretty fortunate you’re a two and two team considering that you’re dead last in rush defense. You’re now down to 24th and rushing yards per game offensively, but even that’s misleading cuz Caleb’s had some timely scrambles this year. The running backs can’t get going. And I know on that last drive they found a couple runs and you know, kudos to Swift finding the end zone there. Manungai had a couple nice runs. I I would give him more looks, but you do just wonder if they’re in the mix at the deadline. I mean, you got to think pursuing a trade for a better running back is going to be on the table because if they continue to struggle this badly running the football, I mean, it’s just not sustainable uh to win when one one part of the offense just does not work hardly at all. It’s really really hard to watch at times. All right, subscribe and join us. We’ll be live for Victory Monday this afternoon as well. Be sure to turn on those notifications. We’ll go live probably between 3 and 4:00 Central, just, you know, whenever we got all our stuff ready to go. So, lock us in. We got you covered with Bears content this afternoon. Plenty to discuss as they roll into the by-week. Uh, okay. The good news is is while the run game is struggling offensively and defensively, secondary stepping up amid these injuries. Four Smoking Jays. Uh, two guys in particular I want to highlight from the game yesterday. Uh, and for two weeks now, Tyreek Stevenson has been fantastic in run support. He’s all over the place. Couple breakups yesterday. Had an interception, one of the best interceptions. uh I’ve seen in a while. I mean, it’s a crossing route. Gino, I didn’t even think threw it really that far behind the guy. I mean, maybe he could have thrown it an extra yard out in front, but Tyreek full parallel to the ground extension dive, catches it, and then also like brings it up to his chest as he turns and land on lands on his back. Because a lot of the time when you’re full extension like that, you know, it hits, you know, when you hit the ground, it’s going to pop out, right? But he had the wherewithal to like tuck it in midair while he turned. It was a freaky athletic play. Uh his swagger feels back and like we know he’s a guy that plays with a lot of confidence and belief, but it felt like that started to wear LA wave last year, especially after what happened in Washington and these last two weeks with Jaylen out. I mean, he is he has stepped up to the challenge in a major way. I thought he did a great job on George Pickkins last week. Did a good job on Jacobe Meyers yesterday. So, uh I haven’t seen the coverage numbers come out yet today. We’ll probably hit on that this afternoon. But, uh, good for Tyreek, man, because, uh, through the first couple weeks of the year after my prediction of him having a bounceback year, I was like, man, this just may not be happening. And, uh, these last two weeks it has. So, hopefully he keeps it up. Then Kevin Bard, who I I thought his age was showing the first few weeks of the season. Uh, not yesterday. I thought he had his best game as a Bear. seven tackles, had that huge stop uh to force the long field goal from Carlson, which again, even if that goes in and it’s not blocked. You had to get that stop there because then you take the timeout, you got two left, you would have had about 32 33 seconds left and two timeouts to get into field goal range. So, it gave you a chance even if Carlson made that kick. Obviously, he didn’t. So, it was a moot point, but that was a huge play. And then obviously had two awesome interceptions. Baited Gino into one of them, made a nice play on the other one. Uh, I thought it was his best game as a bear. You know, last year he was just kind of a solid player. This year he was starting slow, but yesterday I thought he was terrific. I mean, as great as Max Crosby was, and don’t get me wrong, he was unbelievable. Kevin Bard was kind of throwing his own punches back. Like, I I I’m an elite player in this game as well. Like, those two guys were kind of uh exchanging blow forblow, especially in that first quarter. But, uh, uh, good stuff from Bard, Tyreek. I mean, guys are stepping up. I mean, no Kyler Gordon again, Nick Mloud’s fighting. So, uh, kudos to the secondary for hanging in there these last couple of weeks. I mean, I’m still excited about the win. If you are, get the dubs in the chat, baby. I mean, this afternoon, we’re on to next, uh, we we’ll celebrate victory Monday a little more, then we’re on to, uh, to the by-week, but uh, soak this one in, man. Fun to win games just like that one. All right, that’ll do it for Chicago Bears now. Again, we will be back this afternoon. So, hit that subscribe button, turn on the notifications. My name is Harrison Graham. Bear down. [Music]

  1. W But can we have some love for the defence?
Raiders could have run away with this game but 3 interceptions and 1 fumble recovery by our "D" said no. One of the best defensive games (if you don't factor our poor run defence) by the Bears and many of our starters were out.
Let's get healthy during the bye week and come out roaring in week 6!!!!

  2. Good to see us get the win … especially in a game where we took the ball away 4 times. No way we supposed to loose. Great block at the end. Ben managed the game good after not scoring when we needed too. Bear Down.

  3. For the clutch gene don’t forget the Vikings game last season where he got them to OT only for Everlose to call the softest defense on Hockensen 🤦‍♂️

  4. The OLine isn’t doing the RBs any favors …. Getting hit in the backfield
Keep working , I don’t think a RB trade will fix this if the oline can’t block better pint of attack.
    The outside runs worked better
    IMO

  5. My stress level was through the roof like always to the point i felt it was a lose and gave up and only then when I expected the lose and they won….i was neutral with my feelings! More shock than anything because like everyone else, I was preparing for 38 seconds and drive to try and win! I still have no feelings about this game other than it was easier to sleep the night before!🤷🐻⬇️

  6. 6 times last season. Also it's still only game 4 with q3 more games. Looking at the schedule I think the bears could go 8 and and 5 maybe even 9 and 4 if they can sort out the run game. Give Kyle the ball more and stick with O line they finished the game with.
