The Washington Nationals sending out Brad Lord for the start in this one while the White Socks will counter with Shane Smith and uh two teams that are going to be on the outside looking in. It goes without saying and uh they’re just playing out the string at this at this point. Brad Lord has been a decent option at times for the Nationals this season. And down the stretch in the month of September, he’s actually been semidecent. He’s made it into the sixth inning in each of his four starts. He’s given up three runs or less in all those outings. And you know, he’s pitched well enough to uh to keep the Nationals competitive. Haven’t been able to win a lot of his starts, though. I mean, they dropped the last one to Atlanta 3-2. Before that, at home against Atlanta, they lost nine to four. So, we’ve we’ve seen Lord pitch well, but at the end of the day, the Nationals just don’t back him up. And now you you go up against Shane Smith on the other side, who for me has been one of the best better options that the White Socks have actually held on to, despite being just 8 and 20 as a team in his 28 starts this season. For me, Smith, I I said it before early on in the year before Adrien Howser kind of took over that before he got traded that Smith was going to kind of assume the Garrett Crochet role, the guy that was going to pitch well enough to win a decent number of games for the White Socks. And he pitched well. It’s just the fact that he played for the White Socks and they couldn’t really back him up. However, in this game, I do think that I like the White Socks in this matchup just because I trust them more in just in terms of, you know, production. I just think that, you know, right now the Nationals, if you look at their numbers against right-handed pitching in the last two weeks, this has been a Nationals team that has decent isolated power numbers, but they’re they have a 28.1% strikeout rate. Their batting average of 229 is just outside the bottom 10. And I I don’t know how much I trust it. Now, granted, the White Sox are hitting 198 in the last two weeks, so that doesn’t really say a whole lot, but I think that Shane Smith is the better starter. And at the end of the day, the Nationals bullpen erra in the last two weeks is the worst in baseball. And we’re getting a better price with the White Socks here with like I said, what I feel is the better starting pitcher in this matchup and Shane Smith.
