[Music] Yo, what’s going on, Bulls fans? Welcome into the Bulls Report. My name is Patrick Seman and coming up on today’s show, we’re going to be talking about Kobe White and if he could be potentially traded to the Houston Rockets after some big time news coming out of Houston and also did the Bulls reveal their starting lineup at media day. We’ll discuss that here in a second. But you guys see the jersey I’m rocking. I actually got the PCA jersey on today because Cubs playoff baseball is back and I need everybody to get down in the comments section just fly those W’s down below. Even if you’re a White Sox fan, let those W’s be seen down below in the comments section if you guys want the Cubs to beat the Padres’s today and move on and take on the Brewers next round. All right, let’s talk about it. Kobe White, could he be potentially traded to the Houston Rockets? going to be breaking it down on today’s show because the Rockets got some terrible injury news recently and it actually is with another Chicago man from Rockford, Illinois, Fred Van Fleet. This was coming in from Sham Shirania about a week and a half ago saying Houston Rockets guard Fred Van Fleet has suffered a torn ACL a potentially season ending loss for the Rockets uh with their starting point guard and leader. And obviously this is a massive loss for the Rockets because they view this as an all-in season. They traded for Kevin Durant. They think the roster is good enough to go win a title, but now you lose one of your most important pieces. It gets me to this. I expect the Rockets to be very aggressive in terms of trying to trade for a guard. And the Bulls should be all over this. Like our tourist carnosvas, his antenna should have been flinging up once he heard that Fred Van Fleet injury news because now you have an opportunity to trade Kobe White and get a hall potentially more than you were going to get, you know, before this injury news. And also, if it’s between the two guards, Io Dumu, Kobe White, you guys know where I stand. I’m keeping Io over Kobe. I think IO fits better with this new version of the Chicago Bulls where you’re trying to get out in transition, trying to pay with a uh play with a fast pace. And yes, Kobe can do that, but I think IO is one of the best transition guards in the league. He is super fast. And also, you need more defensive-minded players. Io is a way better defender than Kobe. He’s got a super long wingspan. He gets after it. Just a great point of attack guy. So, if I’m choosing between the two, give me IO any day of the week for this Bulls team over Kobe White. And if if you can get multiple first round picks, you take it and run. I like Kobe White. He has developed nicely. He has played well with the Chicago Bulls. Now, do I also think that a lot of his production kind of comes in March where, you know, NBA basketball is a complete joke during that time of the year? Yes, 100%. But if you can get multiple first round picks for Kobe White, you take it and run. Because the question becomes, are the Bulls gonna pay Kobe $30 million? I find that hard to believe. You already gave Josh Giddy 25. Are you going to give Kobe 30? Plus, you already got Patrick Williams on the books for 18. Understand you’re creating a lot of cap space for this next free agency cycle with a lot of expiring contracts. But are you really going to commit four years, $120 million to Kobe? I don’t think they are. So, don’t let him walk for nothing. Like, listen, you nailed that draft pick at Kobe White, seventh overall. I think he’s ended up working out pretty well, but you can’t let him just walk for nothing in free agency. If the Houston Rockets call you, which also the Houston Rockets, they have the Suns unprotected 2027 pick. They also have a pick swap with the Brooklyn Nets in 2027. If you could land even just one of those picks, I say you have to do it. And also the Rockets, Kobe White would fit perfectly there. an offensive minded guard next to Aman Thompson. That would be a great back court for Houston. I think it makes a lot of sense. But it also comes down to are the Bulls willing to move off him because we’ve seen this front office. They move off guys, you know, just about a half a season too late. But now you have a chance to move off Kobe White a half a season early. So, let’s do that right now. Trade him to the Houston Rockets. I would do it if you could get one of their first round picks. But what say you here? Would you trade Kobe White? Give me a T for trade. Give me a P for pass. You got to think about the future of this franchise. You’re not winning, you know, any sort of championships with the team you have right now. And sometimes you have to take a step backwards to take a couple steps forwards. And I think that uh could start with trading Kobe White. So, you guys, I’m going to get your thoughts down below. All right, so the Bulls had their media day earlier on this week and I saw a photo out there and I think it’s pretty much the Bulls telling us who the starting lineup is going to be this upcoming season. As you see, you got Josh Giddy there, Kobe White, Modis Buzzellis, Patrick Williams at the wing spot, and then our good old friend Noola Vuchovich. Now, I will say looking at this lineup, just on paper, you know, it’s a pretty exciting unit. Like, you got the two young wings like to get out in transition. Um, you know, Patrick Williams, I got a lot more thoughts on him, but we’ll save that for a different video. Um, they still got Kobe White, Josh Giddy, they like to get out, play some exciting basketball, and you know, at least this starting lineup compared to the past couple years, like there’s some excitement there. Like I am excited to see Josh Giddy, Modis Buzzel. Those two develop and continue to grow that connection. But you also just still got two, you know, rotten eggs in that starting lineup and that being Patrick Williams and of course Nicole Buchvich. Like if the Bulls had a legit center, like let’s just say this past draft if they somehow got common malwatch from Duke, I would be all in on this starting five where it’s like you got that defensive-minded rim running, you know, lob threat at the center spot. that archetype of center would fit in so much better than Nicole Vuvich, which VC I mean he is just a bad player. Um I can’t wait for Vu to be off the Bulls. Like he really just has a bad stench around him in this organization. I don’t really think he’s the most team guy. I don’t really think he gives two craps about winning basketball games. I think he’s just trying to get his 18 and 10 every night, play some poor defense, get beat off the dribble 100 times, and then go home, go to sleep. So I can’t wait for him to get off this team. But again, this season for the Bulls, it’s about development. It is about guys like Josh Giddy taking a step. It is about Modis Buzz taking a step. I could care less how many games the Bulls won this year because I understand they’re not going to compete for a championship. Would I like for them to go on a playoff run, maybe win a series? Of course, I would. But this season at the end of the day is about guys like Buzzel developing, Giddy developing, even IO as these younger guys as well. It’s about player development. Now, if the wins come, the wins come. But the Bulls should be such a processoriented group right now instead of resultsoriented. We obviously know that hasn’t been the case over the last couple of years. That’s why I want to ask you guys this predictable season. Give me a one for miss the playoffs, two for make the playoffs, or three for the Bulls to make the play in. You guys let me know how you think the season’s going to shake out.
