Okay. in 2025 there is absolutely zero excuse for the NFL having ties they’re the only sport that do it still um so in over so the rule for overtime is 10 minutes of overtime both teams get the ball at least once um if the first team scores a touchdown the second team has to stop them um first team so if the first team to score then stop on defense wins pretty much um pretty much how that works. So, you don’t get a lot of possession time in overtime. And then if uh it’s still tied at the end of the 10 minutes, it’s a tie. It’s crap. So, here’s what you do. Two options, ladies and gentlemen. At the end of the 10 minutes, you do college football overtime rules go into effect after the 10 minutes. What that? So, look up what the college football overtime rules are. It’s like go back, you start at the 25 yardd line, go to the end zone, and then if they still tied, then it’s two-point conversions back and forth until you get one, then stop the other team on defense. I’m pretty sure. Okay. Or you can do a field goal contest kind of like what the NHL has in the shootout where where in uh you start the snap at the 10 yard line and you keep backing up and the first team to make it then have the opponent miss wins. So in the playoff primer in in the playoffs uh you you there is continuous overtime in the playoffs. So you can go to second, third, fourth OT, the whole nine yards. Um, just in the regular season, you can tie. So it screws up everything in the in the NFC, everything. So the cup final. Yes. Continuous overtime. See, so if in the playoffs you can go to second, third, fourth, or however many overtimes you need until somebody wins, but in the regular season, you can tie pre205 NHL. Does that make sense? Five minutes of overtime, then if nobody scores, oh, there’s a tie. Good thing that good good thing they added the shootout. At least there’s a winner. I I don’t like the shootout, but at least it gives us a winner and a loser. I would hate to play a game to play 65 minutes of hockey just to tie, you know.
