PADRES LOSE GAME 1 AGAINST CUBS
Well, folks, as bad of a game as the Padres’s offense could have possibly had, not showing up, dare I say, laying over, losing the first game in a three-game set in the wild card to the Chicago Cubs. Javier Rees here, the Locked Down Padres’s podcast. Not the best vibes for Frier Faithful, as you can tell by my reaction. Um, just really, really rough. Nick Paveta actually does well in this game despite losing 3-1. He was not responsible for them losing, right? five innings. He does give up two on two solo shots by the Cubs, but he strikes out nine. Didn’t walk anybody. And there was some mistakes potentially by Mike Schill. Why did they use Jeremiah Straa that later into the game against more of the top heavy part of the Cubs order instead of the bottom part? Maybe use Mason Miller against their best batters. What could I know? Um, but the offense after a Bogart’s double, basically no one shows up. 0 for 11 with the top three Padres’s in the lineup. Uh, Luisa Rise, Fernandez Jr., and Manny Machado. Just not great. Um hopefully they can bounce back. Can Dylan C show up in a big way tomorrow? I have my doubts. But if we’re going to be upset, let’s save most of it for tomorrow because hey, this team in fairness and this culture, this team, this this foundation that AJ Prowler and company have built has been better than this before and they have made better comebacks than this before. So keep the faith but uh not
