I don’t know what to make of this? Wasn’t the pitching the only thing working?
At first I didn’t get this, because the Pirates were 7th in ERA in the MLB this year. Then I thought about it and wanted to check to see how much of that was Skenes. Take out Skenes and this team’s ERA goes from 3.76 to 4.03, which takes them from 7th to 18th in the MLB. Their pitching staff was really “Skenes and a bunch of mediocre guys”. Considering the talent there, I think the rest of the pitching staff should be better.
That said, I don’t understand why Hague isn’t one of the guys being fired, though. Hague was a bigger issue than Marin.
How about a new hitting coach?
I don’t mind letting Rabelo go
Yay rabelo is gone!
Hey guys, we’re sorry about this year. It was unacceptable and we’re serious about winning games next year, BUT not at the expense of firing our GM (cause year 6 of the rebuild is where it all **really** comes together), or Hitting Coach (cause 28th in batting average *ain’t last* amirite!)

Now we won’t lose at least 2 games a year bc of shitty 3B coaching!
No more 3rd base coach sending when the shortstop has the ball! Huzzah!
Thank God those deck chairs are being rearranged.
Now who is going to windmill people into obvious outs at home?
Legitimately Christmas in September for me that Rabelo was let go
Meanwhile they will look at their piss poor offensive stats and be like, “yeah let’s run that back again”
We have a new manager who is bringing in his guys. What’s so weird with that?
Good, need to change this team’s management/coaching as much as possible
Donnie deserves a run with his own staff
I’m really surprised that Rabello is being let go.
Not because I thought he was good, we need to make a switch at 3rd base coach, but he and Don Kelly are best friends
I don’t mind cleaning out staff, BUT WHY NOT HAGUE AND CHERINGTON
Strom retired, he wasn’t fired.
It’s important to note that these coaches were not fired. They had their contracts expire and are not having them renewed. Mackey followed up this tweet with more information. Strom is considering retirement and has been offered some sort of advisory role. Talks are still ongoing when it comes to other coaches such as Hague.
