FINAL 3 OUTS: The Dodgers take Game 1 of the NL Wild Card Series vs. the Reds! ๐ซก

If he’s right, and today will be a big indication, it could really change the dynamic of this Dodgers bullpen in October. Yeah, Trinan who was a go-to guy in their pen last year and in 2021 this year 32 appearances a 540 erra and again he’s got some some wear on him at this point. 37 years old and the sweeper missing outside. Well, he was known for just incredible sinker and and the ground ball rates were through the roof. 65% 66%. This year it’s only 34.7%. So yeah, it’s weird. Sinker is really flat. They’re they’re hitting it. And by the way, the batting average against that sinker is unchartered water for him. 379 with a 483 slugging percentage. So just has not played like it typically has in his career. Swanging a miss from Mlan. And as it’s gone on his career, that is you’re talking about a guy that averaged a little over 97 with the fast ball. This year it was 959. [Applause] That’s inside. It almost hit MLAN. when he went into the adjustments, you know, okay, if you’re now I’m a flyball pitcher all of a sudden, yeah, what do you have to do? You know, try to figure out how to work the top of the zone effectively and just find a way to get that different slot to get the sinker back where you want it. 3-1 swing and a miss. Mlan’s had a good night. Couple of hits in three at bats. Three and two trying in outside corner and Mlan is rung up. That was a nice nasty sinker because he he kind of yanked it outside and look at it come back. Boom. So as a hitter you see ball ball all the way through. Okay, that’s outside. Oh, wait a minute. Came back. That is a perfect pitch you because hitters give up on it reading it early and then by the time they try to pull the trigger it’s too late. I will wear my hot dog costume and Dodger jersey and celebrate strikeouts. [Applause] Yes, you will sir. I mean it’s it’s like a Frisbee really sweeper very lateral move 10 miles an hour slower than the sinker and it played really well on that last pitch. two out of it once. So 18 of the 20 wild card series, the game one winner goes on to win it. Yeah, the former Dodger takes a sweeper for a strike from Blake Try. Show Otani a pair of homers here tonight and the Dodgers offensive firepower on full display. Brilliant effort from Blake Snell tonight. And meanwhile for Hunter Green, the kid from Los Angeles, they got knocked around a bit in three innings. The one inside corner. By the way, the Dodgers five homers tie a team postseason record. Now Justin Dean into the game and tried to make a spectacular catch for the final out of the game. It’ll go as a single. They ended up overdiving this ball. I mean, he he got there in time and when he went full extension, he was too far beyond the ball. So, watch off. It hits off the heel of his glove. I think it hit off the heel of his hand. I mean, I don’t know if he got a whole lot of glove on it, but he made the spectacular dive, but just mis misjudged it. And Duhar takes outside the strike zone. trying in ready and fires in there at the knees. Couple of former teammates share a word. Lux and Rohos [Applause] on the ground to third. Muny on the move and that’ll do it. The Dodgers take game one. They had five homers including two from Show Otani. Seven strong innings from Blake Snell. And hot dog guy loves it. Uh you know it’s it’s always great uh to start the game like that. Uh winning the game. uh you know, you just try to to push it uh push and and trying to punch first. Uh thanks to Otani, he he did that. Uh that was a great scene from him. Um and from from there, we just trying to get good at bats, get on and and just trying to to do the big hicks. Uh the one to right field. Uh I think that’s uh is a better swing is is, you know, it feels great when you hit the ball like that to to right center. Uh especially me, that’s that’s how I like to hit the ball over there. Uh, you know, it’s just a matter of every play. Uh, every little things matters on in these games. Uh, and for me, it just, you know, I try to be more focused on the things that I need to do to to help this team win. Uh, not thinking about my results. It just, uh, the results for the team. I mean, they were passing. Uh, they were taking uh, good at bats at the end of the game. Uh, they know that the our bullpen was struggling situations and they understand that. They take some good pitches. they fight some some pitches and uh take the walks. They they put pressure, you know, uh credit to them. So, uh tomorrow we just going to try to get some runs and hopefully uh a pitching side keep doing the things that he they’ve been doing uh lately.

Dodger bullpen gave up three runs. If the opposition can get to the bullpen early, they have a good chance to win.
