Manny Machado on Padres quiet offense in game 1 loss to the Cubs and facing elimination.

pretty well. Actually played Sunday when the ranks are against you tomorrow. Uh I mean go out there and play that’s another game. Um you know stakes are a lot higher but um it’s a beautiful thing to uh you know just be in this position regardless. So go out there and try to be the best team put some pressure on early got guys to third base. feel like that was become where the game was could have been changed a lot when you guys could have scored early. Yeah. Yeah, we definitely you know we had opportunities um you know made some pitches he got out of some jams there. Um um but you know uh yeah just just left it like that and um you know I think overall we just we played a good game man other than those two home runs it would have been we would have probably still been playing. So um yeah. just wash it up and get ready for the ball. Early stages of the shadows, how how bad was it today? I mean, there’s no excuses, man. You got to go out there and play. As a fellow wingfielder, the two plays that Swanson made on the balls that Ryan hit that could have brought on. Just how good I mean, you’re talking about, you know, defender. So, yeah, I mean, you know, some hell of plays by by a lot of people today on that field. So, hell of a play safe save some runs. How confident is this group though as you as as you guys face into potential elimination game? What’s the mindset of this this of this offense? Play just play, you know, go try to, you know, play our best baseball. We we’ve been doing all year and continue to do that and nothing’s changed. You know, obviously um you know, we’re one down where we don’t want to be, but um you know, watch this up and get ready for tomorrow and go out there and try to do the same thing and come out with a victory. 1. They can't handle the pressure. It gets to them mentally. Just like what happened the Dodgers. Same thing happened last year.

  2. These group of pansies got no purpose and they are playing like they are supposed to be eliminated. MAN UP and get attitude and go take a series from them! Stop acting like spoiled children expecting the win! No wonder San Diego never has a championship because they don’t grind!!!

  3. "other than those 2 homeruns"
throwing shade at your pitcher is wild when you only scored 1 run in the playoffs and you rely too heavily on small ball and have a stubborn manager who went with 3 lefties for whatever reason.

  4. "we played a good game" you had 4 hits and scored 1 run. How many games are you winning like that? Maybe 5%? That's not playing a good game.

  5. If we had signed Harper we would have a ring already, he’s a guy who shows up when the team needs him, Manny shows up when we’re losing by 5 or winning by 5

  6. I'm tired of this crap. No fire, no sense of urgency. When are this teams so called "stars" going to show up and do something. Is our window closing, fuck it was never open. The most important game of the season and this shit happens. Can someone say rebuild!
