  9. I remember thinking during this game it would have been really cool to be able to watch the game with the local broadcasters calling it. I wonder what sort of things they’d be drawn to comment on as the game goes on.

  17. UK broadcasters are great. BBC’s call of Sidney Crosby’s golden goal from the 2010 Olympics was probably the best English call.

    Having said that, if you’re also a fan of the Premier League, you know there’s a lot of crap ones as well just like over here lol.

  18. I would listen to these guys call any game. I love it.

    Bring them to the states or have them be the exclusive over seas callers. Current cbs. No.

    If you are going to try something new and go somewhere new. Do something new everywhere in the broadcast. Noone buys a new car and puts in the same old worn seats from the previous car.

As a complete aside, the money I would’ve paid to watch an NFL game commentated by Mícheál Ó’Muircheartaigh and John Madden, there would’ve been a world record breaking amount of bollocks chatted in that few hours… The two of them, talking about the fucking D Line coach’s great aunt from Ballinhassig, and how she was a great woman for having the sup of tae on for the lads after the game, from a proud hurling tradition, don’t you know. 🤣🤣🤣 You’d be only dying for the next break in play to see what mad shit would come out of their mouths next… The world missed out on a genuinely god tier sporting event. 😭

  25. The nice touch and the thing that really brings the call to life IMO is the homework he did with the roster.

    Skowronek in motion, Calvin Austin, etc.  real dexterity. 

    Like a hometown radio call.

    U.S. tv broadcasts usually name ball carriers and tacklers, but only break down blockers and other players by name in replay.
