I am great. Um, do you know what month it is? It’s October. Oh, do you know what month it is? Yep. I just found out. Shawntober. Ah, I like that. I like that. Shawnber. Okay. Do you know about Shawn Payeyton in October? I do. He uh flips a switch. Yes. He is the all-time winningest coach in October with a 711 winning percentage in the month of October in his career. Um, so yeah, the Eagles are You know who has a 711 win percentage in his career? Who? Nick Serriani. Is that really? Isn’t that kind of crazy how those go up against each other now? Something’s got to give here. Something does have to give. And this is hot shot. Uh they don’t call it Nicktober. That’s No, that’s very true. Yeah, everyone calls it Shantober. Yeah, we do now. It’s very true. Shout out to uh Anthony on Twitter who put me on to Shantober. In Febru or in in September, Shawn Payeyton in his career is like four games over 500. He’s like 28 and 24. Sean’s not a 500 coach. So that’s that that’s interesting that that he traditionally starts about 500, two and two in the month of September. In October, however, it flips. He’s like 38 and 14 in his career or somewhere right around those numbers. I’ve got two numbers here. You can never really tell with the internet anymore. Um, but one of them is 47 and 16 and one of them is 53 and 21. Um, I could probably go back and get the actual numbers myself later, but it’s some it’s somewhere in between there or one of them. Yeah. And and the number that I heard 38 and 14. I mean, that those all fit right into that winning percentage. Yeah. Yeah. This says that he was 47 and 16 with the Saints. So 47 and 16. Yeah. Yeah. I I don’t know that that’s uh regardless what it is at 7-Eleven win percentage. Um to me, what what does that tell you guys the flip from September to October? Uh it tells me what Benny’s been telling us since the off seasonason, which is that the Shawn Peyton offense takes a few weeks to get into gear. And we talked about kind of like how everyone wants linear growth uh when it comes to the offense, but Benny basically said like, yeah, but he it’s not like he just keeps stacking on top like slowly but surely. Like when a new season comes around, he throws a bunch more on them and it takes them a while to get into gear. So to me, it’s like, okay, once you get through those first four games, then the offense starts to click. And obviously we saw it in game four for the Broncos start to click. Uh and it and he turns it on. By the way, this was also uh I’m just in a stats mood today. This one was from Andrew Mason. Shawn Peyton after starting two and two never had a losing record, huh? It’s pretty impressive. Yeah. Yeah. But it what it tells me is that as Sean always says, the first four weeks about getting better fast. And so when you’re focused on getting better, you wind up after those first four weeks, if you’re a good coach, being better and then you’re off and running. Yeah, I think it shows that Sean is very good at adjusting and uh realizing what his team is after the first month of the season and then adjusting to it. And that’s what we have said and begged for the Broncos to get a head coach for nearly a decade, Ryan, uh doing this show is, man, get someone that’s going to adjust to the players, not just put their system in and force a system on players. he adjusts and then boom, the teams absolutely take off. And Sean was asked about this uh this interesting stat about October at the end of the week last week. And he said this Monday night game was still September, but he said, “Let’s just pretend it’s in October.” And boy did the Broncos play like it was Shawn Tober uh with that 28-3 win. 512 yards of offense, guys. Speaking of stats, the 512 yards of offense to I believe like the 150 that they allowed is the biggest yard differential in a single game in the NFL this entire year, not just Broncos in the entire NFL. So you got Eagles, Jets, Giants, and is there Cowboys? Is that still in October? I believe so. You win this one, you could go 4 and0. You win this one, you’re going 4 and0. Speaking of the differentials, the Eagles still have not outgainained an opponent in yards this season. They came close against the Cowboys. Cowboys only had like three more and they have the fourth worst yardage differential in the league. Yeah, there are so many stats that would tell you the Eagles are a really bad football team other than the fact they’ve won what like 21 of their last 23 or something. Yeah, 20 last 21 I think it is. There was an article in the Philly Inquirer today that said uh how long can winning mask the Eagles problems? Yeah, forever. It’s just such a funny thing for like the team that has the Super Bowl trophy and is undefeated. Well, that that that’s what happens when you get to that point. That’s that’s when like the the critiques are are fun because you got to find something to critique the the especially in Philadelphia and East Coast media, if I understand that properly. They’re always looking for the negatives, unlike us, we’re always looking for the positives. Um and uh that is who the Philadelphia Eagles are. And guys, let’s dive into the Eagles. We’ll talk about the big opportunity the Broncos have later on in this show, but the challenge that the Broncos face. Tell me if I’m wrong on this. I think this is the most difficult game, not just of the Broncos season, that any team has in the entire NFL this year of the 257 games or whatever. I think this is the most difficult one because you’re playing the Super Bowl champs. You’re playing one of two undefeated teams. You’re playing them on the road. You’re playing them at a time that you usually don’t play, an early morning Sunday game. Uh, and you’re playing them on a short week this week. I don’t think it gets any more difficult. You can’t I I don’t think you could point out to a game that would be more difficult for any team in the NFL. I’d have to see a list of the team but the teams but or the games but to me it’s like well the Broncos uh talent gap is not as large as you could find like what if the Raiders go at Bills or something. I’m not saying the biggest spread and and that that’s what the spread would be and I’m not saying the uh uh biggest hurdle to overcome. I’m saying the most challenging circumstances for a team. But I Yeah, I think playing in Buffalo. So you’re saying remove the players remove your own team. Yes. Yes. Yes. I’m saying you’re saying it’s just about circumstance, not about the But then you’re also saying the Eagles are the defending Super Bowl champions. Yeah. But but it’s just take any any random team and then going against a team, what would it be? Yeah. I mean, it’s it’s got to be up there. And so I understand what you’re saying. I just don’t know what other games could compete with it. Um and that’s that’s this is like a big moment for the Broncos as a team. I think getting that win last week was huge. You you mentioned the vibes in the locker room, which is funny because right before you came on, I I was asking Benny like the players don’t care about how bad the Bengals are. They’re just really happy they won and he’s like, “Yeah, I mean for sure.” Especially with all the stats people put up. Like that’s a great vibe in the locker room right now. Getting over that hump was first the first step. But now there’s like this long almost like team bonding period. Are they going early to Philadelphia today? Going on Friday. So they’re going one day early to Philadelphia. Then they’re together from that until the until when they come back from London. Correct. Yep. This is like one of those things where if the Broncos win this one, win in London, we’ll be looking back and I guarantee you in week like 14, some guys will say like, “Yeah, there was that there was that week and a half where we were together every single day and like our team bonding went to another level uh in that moment.” So, you’re right in the sense that this is a really difficult situation for the team to be in. But, it’s kind of one of those things where you just say like, “All right, all we have is us. Like, let’s let’s band together right now.” Well, and Ryan, it happened last year with the Broncos. They started 0 and2. They went on the road to Tampa Bay in week three and they beat Tampa Bay, a game that they were not supposed to win that that they were like a seven-point underdogs in that game. They won that game and then where did they go right after that game? York. They went to they went to the Greenbryer and they spent an entire week together. And so that win to kick off the trip was huge. And you said in week 14, guys will point back to this. That’s exactly what they did last year. Shawn Payeyton pointed back to it for this entire past year. He pointed back to that week as huge. A lot of players pointed back to that week. But I think a key part to that is getting that win to kick off the trip. Because then what the Broncos do? They went into New York in terrible circumstances and they pulled off an upset against the Jets there. Um, if the Broncos have an opportunity to beat the Jets again at the end of this long road trip this year. Um, but really getting that momentum would start this week against the Eagles. And that’s why I mentioned the challenge, but that’s why it’s such a big opportunity, guys, because you had the opportunity to win a game where Vegas doesn’t think you’re going to. your three and a half point underdogs, which by the way, it’s not as big of a spread uh as one would think. That shows exactly the hook. Yeah, the Broncos are better. And uh the the opportunity to give the Eagles their first loss, the only undefeated team in the NFC, the opportunity to beat the Super Bowl champions on the road, and the opportunity to prove it’s not prime time, but this is the game that everyone’s going to be watching. You got Jim Nance and Tony Romo on the call for this one. So, uh, the 11 a.m. Yeah, exactly. I was surprised by that, too. So, uh, this is a game that’s going to be seen by most of the country. Everyone just saw the asskicking that you did on Monday Night Football against the Bengals. This is an opportunity for the Broncos to not only say, “We’re back this year, but we are back to our Super Bowl competing days.” Cuz if you knock off the Eagles on the road, you’re absolutely in that conversation. And Shawn Payeyton is going to be proven right. his comments earlier this year. And then you’re three and three and two on the season with the Jets, with the Giants, with the Cowboys. Uh with the Raiders as your next five games, guys, everyone’s going to be saying that eight and two is realistic for the Broncos. Yeah. No, and I mean these Eagles are not good. Like like you look at them and they’re just not like they aren’t winning easily. They’re getting lucky now. Again, they’ve gotten lucky and won so many games now at this point that you look at and say something’s got to give. But there’s a reason that I’ve been saying since this offseason, I think the Broncos win this game. Like I think the Broncos are the better team. Somebody in chat asked, “How do you stop Saquon Barkley?” the exact same way that every single team other than the Cowboys has stopped Saquon Barkley so far. Like I get that that’s the one kind of scary thing there, but I I don’t I don’t see why on paper you would say the Eagles are the better team than the Broncos. So let’s let’s dive into that after I give a shout out to our friends over at the Colorado Soccer Association. CSA is the official hub for 65 plus soccer clubs across the state, offering programs for youth players, adult players, coaches, referees, and families who want to get involved in the game. Um but um I didn’t notice when I was driving past the Patan mural the Ant Credit Union put up over there. Um which is a real shame because that’s the best part of the day. Ryan, you were going to say something after Henry’s comments. Yeah, I just it the Eagles are such a hard team to evaluate because of everything Henry just said. Um, but I just I watch almost all of their games and they all follow the same script. Yes. Um, it’s one of two things. Either the Eagles get out to a really hot start and then just completely ease off the gas and let the other team back into the game and then finally turn it back on at the end and win. Or they get off to a really slow start, let a team get out to a big lead, then they turn on the switch and come back and find a way to win. Yep. And I think it’s because of the fact that they only play like half a game, sometimes only one good quarter, that all of their stats end up looking so bad. But for whatever reason, when they turn it on, it’s like the the old Warriors. Like you could be up 20 on them and all of a sudden they turn it on, they can rattle off 18 straight without before you can even blink, right? They’re just a couple steps ahead of the Broncos and like the team building process. And we talk a lot about learning how to win. The Eagles are the team that’s figured out how to win. You know, they remind me of the Nuggets a lot, you know, these past two years where they haven’t been as talented, haven’t clicked in the same way, just haven’t been able to like make the pieces fit together. And so there’s so many games where you watch and you’re like, “Oh, they’re not playing great. They’re not playing great. They’re not playing great.” But they find a way to win because yeah, the Charlotte Hornets are not able to execute in late game situations like the Nuggets. It’s the same thing for the Eagles. Like they’re just built for those situations. They know how to do it. They’ve done it however many times before, dozens of times maybe at this point. Um, and the Broncos just haven’t been able to get that piece figured out yet. And a couple years hopefully they will because they’re still in that upward trend of learning and building. Whereas the Eagles are past that crest and coming back down and they’re in the position where kind of the Nuggets are where the talent is not what it used to be, but you just have that experience that you can lean on and when push comes to shove, they’ve gone through those fourth quarter drives so many times that they can just go do it again. The Eagles are exactly what a Super Bowl champion team looks like that is still really, really, really good. So, I I give a lot of push back that the Eagles aren’t that good. They’re incredibly good. Um, we saw what the Chiefs did last year. The Chiefs won the Super Bowl. Then last year, what do they do? They play in so many tight games, but what do they do at the end of games? They come through with the win every time. Sometimes their defense didn’t look good. Patrick Mahomes and the offense didn’t look good, but they just win every single game. They’re they’re winners. And that’s what’s going to make this game so tough for the Broncos is the Broncos this year, last year, across that plane yet, are not winners. and they’re playing against the team that is the ultimate winners in the NFL in the past 18 months. You can even make the argument in the past uh 5 years. I think Jaylen Herz since his time in college has been to more national championship games/ser bowls than not which is insane. That just shows. Uh yet we have Benny here yesterday and and Henry Benny and Henry saying Jayen Herz isn’t a top five quarterback. Benny in fact said Jaylen Herz isn’t a top 10 quarterback. And I gave a lot of push back and I I said, “Henry, you better have your uh your Jaylen Herz uh fighter cap on today because I know Ryan and I really think he he’s very good.” But he just he doesn’t put up 350 yard passing games, but he wins and he’s so colded and that defense is not the defense that it was last year. Um and I think last year they were like pretty much number one in everything across the board. Now they’re, you know, average in the in run defense. They’re below average in the passing game. Actually flipped those two. Um, and they’re just not nearly as intimidating. Yet, the thing that is crazy about the Eagles is it’s not like they’ve been winning these games against uh the Bengals, against the Browns. Now, their first four games against the Cowboys, that’s a divisional game. And I think the Cowboys are better than uh the the country on the road, uh the Rams at home, and then the Buccaneers on the road. Those are potential like four playoff teams and they’ve been able to squeak out the win. So, I think this game is about stepping on their throat early and continuing to step on their throat. Don’t give them any hope to come back in this game cuz like you said, Ryan, all they need is like one good quarter. Yeah, it’s uh it’s such a challenge, but it’s also such an opportunity. Like we said in the headline, um you can kind of erase every bad thing anyone has said about you this year if you win this game 100% because it’s like okay like they needed the Chargers games and the Colts games to like learn to get over that hump but now they just got over that hump against one of the best teams in the NFL and you know the defending Super Bowl champions like every it’ll just all is fine and well like you go right back to maybe even in a higher position than people viewed you in the beginning of the year like a sexy Super Bowl pick. Like now people would be like, “Okay, well they’re clearly capable of beating anyone in the league.” They’re they’re included in that conversation right away. You beat the defending champs that are undefeated on the road. Um and then on top of that, Ryan, if I were to tell you entering the season, okay, you can uh beat the Colts in a close game, you can beat the Chargers in a close game, you can beat the Eagles in a close game, you pick one of those three. Obviously, if you can have all three, you would. Um but whi which one would you choose? You choose the Eagles. If I said which one would be the most impressive, you choose the Eagles game. And so if they do that, then I completely agree with you. All all those demons are gone. I did start to think about what the narratives would be on Monday, though. And it’s totally like the Eagles flaws were finally exposed by Shawn Payeyton. Not like, oh, the Broncos are a true Super Bowl contender. But again, if Dallas, the Chiefs, the Rams, and the Bucks can’t expose those for the Eagles. No, no, no, no. Shawn Peyton and the Broncos would be the ones to do it, and that would be impressive talking about, but that’s not what they would be talking about, man. Feels like those teams kind of did expose those flaws. They just couldn’t finish it out. Yeah. You know, again, that’s what Oh, totally. Oh, totally. But I mean, but that’s why we have all these conversations about like the Eagles have flaws, you know, that’s why people are talking now. If I told you the Broncos could uh win this game by 15 points or more or win this game by one, which one would you pick? The 15. And And I know the argument for the one. It’s like, man, they were able to come away. But no, you you beat the Eagles and you beat them by three possessions, two possessions. I’ll take that any day. I want the one. I want the one because I think that this game is such a potential confidence builder for this football team. Uh, and yes, blowing them out would be like, “Oh my god, this is just like this team is special, blah blah blah.” But then the next time they find themselves in a one-score game at the end of the fourth quarter, they won’t be able to have said, “Well, we’ve done this before against the Eagles.” Now, if you do it against the Eagles, then you could say like, “Okay, if we could do it against them, we could do it against anyone.” Right. I think that’s a good spin job. Um I I I don’t I don’t I don’t think if Bo, let’s say in uh against the Chiefs uh in what week 12, I don’t think if Bo is standing in the huddle on the 20 um down six points, he’s going to think back to the Eagles game in week five and be like, I’ve got the confidence. I don’t really think that’s gonna matter. I think I kind of think he might. I don’t think so. I think he might stay just like the Eagles. No, I don’t think so. I don’t know. Like I was in a like I was in a big golf match this year and I was not hitting driver well. But then I got to this hole where I always hit driver well and all I thought all I thought about was I always hit driver well on this hole and then I hit a good drive and we ended up winning the tournament. So like you do think about that stuff. I think so. Yes. I don’t think so. I don’t I don’t think Bo that that’s what he’s thinking about. Just imagine if they beat the [ __ ] out of the Eagles. I know. But like they’ve done that before. Not the Eagles. But I’m just saying, no, not this team. Not really. With Bo, they’re they’re what, one and one in seven against uh playoff teams. Like, no, they haven’t. They they need to overcome that hump, Ryan, of winning close games. They also need to overcome the hump of beating good teams cuz that that’s what everyone pointed to that wanted to be negative about the Broncos last year was, “Oh, well, you only beat one team, and it was in week three against the Bucks who went to the playoffs. You need to beat good teams. Just beat the hell out of the Eagles, and man, it’s going to feel good.” Oh, this is such a great conversation to have. I hope we’re having it after the game tonight. Oh my goodness. Yeah. I hope you guys are disappointed that why do we have to win by 15? I wish we could have won by one. I completely agree. Yeah. But likely what this game is going to shape up as is a one possession game. Yeah. And I can the NFL and I totally see what you’re saying, Ryan, is that if the Broncos are able to beat the Eagles in a one possession game, just how big that would be. because the Eagles all of their games um have been one possession games. Week one they won by four. Week two they won by three. Week three they won by seven and week four they won by six. Um all of these games are close because whether it’s they’re not good, whether it’s they’re not they’re not as good, whether it’s they’re not as focused. Um they just have so much confidence in what they can do in the final two minutes. They’re not stepping on teams throats right now. May maybe it’s also because they they’ve played good competition now. Um like after the Broncos game, they play the Giants, the Vikings, um and then the uh Giant or Yeah, Giants. So Giants two weeks out of three that that’s when they could take off as a team, but you have an opportunity to end that for them. Yeah. Uh I didn’t realize that they’re on a are they on a 20ame win streak? 20 of 21. Okay. Yeah. It’s crazy. No, they they win. But again, it’s it’s not because they’re so much better than other teams. It’s because they’re better in like the key moments and they play like a veteran team and they have put the drives together at the end and get the stops at the end. Like the turnovers this year, they’re up five to one. Like it’s just those sorts of things where you just don’t they don’t shoot yourself in the foot. Like it’s comfortability. It’s the opposite of what we were just talking about with Bo. They’re getting to that T- box and saying we always hit a good drive on the Exactly. And because they just they’re in a close game, they’re we always win these. We’re fine. No one’s stressing. Everyone looks at Jaylen Herz. They’re like, he’s gonna make a big play for us when we need it most. It’s Yeah, it’s totally mental. Well, and it’s and it’s uh it’s not only at the end of games, but in terms of their offense, uh they have the fewest passing attempts. Um they have the second most rushing attempts, but the fourth worst yards per average. their offense in in terms of um scoring is uh the seventh best in the NFL, yet they don’t have the yards to to back that up. But it’s because when when Exactly. But it’s because when they get in the red zone and on third downs, they’re the number one red zone team in the NFL on the offensive side of the ball. It’s a big fan defense. No, on on their offensive side of the ball, they’re number one. Well, on the Broncos, they’re the number one red zone defense. So that I think is going to be what this game comes down to. We’ve seen this Broncos defense all all year, good games, bad games, be a Ben but don’t break defense. And if they maintain that, well, they just beat the Eagles biggest strength and that’s their red zone offense. So if the Broncos are holding them to field goals, they will win this game. Then again though, on the other side, their biggest strength is the red zone defense because that big fio make you work your way down the field, but then don’t give anything up when you get there. Yeah. I mean, the reason why they’re so good in the in the red zone is because they only have to average 2.5 yards per play to get a first down. Yeah. And when you run the ball and uh um you you just stick to it and you commit to it, which they do. That’s how that happens. Yeah. It’s uh I mean they’re sometimes when you watch the Eagles, it feels like they’re playing a different sport. Mhm. Like they’re just not operating under the the rules that the rest of us operate on. And if they get a a fourth and one from their own 19 yardd line, like they believe in their ability to just go get it, right? But and I just I don’t think what they’re doing is sustainable. Like I get they are a good red zone offense, but you’ve played four one-score games and you’ve scored 11 touchdowns on 11 red zone drives. There’s no way you’re just batting a thousand the rest of the way. And the margins are so slim that all it takes is just one or two of those to go the other way and they can be two and two. in the red zone touchdowns. That’s crazy. Henry, I I could get behind this if it was just a four game stretch, but it’s 20 of 21, including in the playoffs and a Super Bowl. That’s not what’s crazy is the playoffs, they were a totally different team. And even they were operating like at their highest capability throughout the entire playoffs. It was crazy. And even last year, they had Saquon running for 2,000 yards. They don’t have that this year. And don’t you think that they’re having similar conversations that that we’re having about getting better and uh not reaching your peak in September? I just Yeah, Saquon right now, guys. JK Dobbins is the better running back in 2025 than Saquon Barkley. And it’s not even close statistically. Well, I mean, isn’t that a big thing of Let’s break it down. After I give a shout out, you could trade them one for one right now. Who would you pick? You get one of them on Sunday. Let’s Let’s talk about it. I can think of one brand specifically. Me, too. And and in like my early 20s, I would just get suckered in. I’d be like, “Oh, yeah. This is f it’s 30 bucks for a pair of jeans. I’ll do $6 for a t-shirt, right? Um, also, so I’m working on a story now about the Broncos run game because they’re doing some cool things. Um, and somebody somebody after the game said that they were getting the same look over and over again. And so they just kept running the same play. And so I was able to figure out what that play was, but I can’t find that damn quote. So if any of you can find the quote where basically said like we’re getting the same look over and over again, so we kept running the same play. So, like a player on the Broncos said this afterwards, player, a coach. It must have I mean, I’ve listened to Sean three times now and it was not him. Um, if you can find that, I will get you a die hard membership. Wow. I’m starting to wonder if I just dreamed it. Yeah. What’s that called again? Uh, like a Mandela effect type of thing. Yeah. I don’t have that. I get a lot of Broncos dreams and maybe I just dreamed that that’s where that happened. But they were running that same crack toss. Seven times they ran a toss. They’re two little variations. Five of the seven they ran Marvin Mims in motion um the other way to draw the defense. Like it’s the same thing over and over and over again. Um after running I think it was like three tosses, three three like real tosses over the course of the previous three games. I love that. And the I need the quote for the damn story. Yeah, the you could just make it up. I can’t anymore. You could like attribute it to me or That’s true. That’s true. We’re not as good. Could Benny have said it? Benny, they’re getting the same look and so they’re going up to the line of scrimmage with the two calls. They keep choosing this one, running the same play over and over again because they won’t stop it. It kind of does sound like something Benny would say on the watch along. You just have to be in the huddle to know that that’s exactly what’s we’re getting the same look. So, we’re just going to keep calling the same run. Well, you also I could say it. I’m the guy who found the same run they’re running over and over again. You don’t need Benny to say it. Yes, they were. Says you just go with anonymous Bronco source. Yeah. Yeah. There we go. Um, and you can make Broncos very uh wide open there. It could be a former Bronco. Sure. Anonymous Broncos related source. Yes. Anonymous Denver. A person close to the situation. I I’m just not a liar. Benny’s Benny. That’s not Benny could be close to the situation. Yeah. So could I. Exactly. Exactly. I mean, we watch every game. We’re at every practice. Um, okay. So, speaking of the run game, it is going to be absolutely huge in this game and for the Broncos season moving forward. We saw it and Sean talked about it after the game. Bo talked about it after the game when the run game is going. Uh, it is the key to the offense. Bo had 326 passing yards, a careerhigh. He had three touchdowns, two in the air, one on the ground. And a big reason is because of the run game. They averaged 4.9 yards per carry. He ran the ball 38 times. That’s what I want to see. If you’re dropping back to pass 40 times like Bo did, run the ball 38 times. That is what we want to see. And uh when it comes to the Eagles, Squan is struggling. Like I said, they run the ball more than anyone in the NFL, yet they aren’t averaging uh many, many yards per run. They don’t have a lot of yards on the ground. Saquon is averaging 3.1 yards per carry. So, here’s the argument, and it’s not even an argument. And it’s just straight up facts that JK Dobbins four games into the season is better than Saquon Barkley right now. And here here’s why. Here’s the here’s the stats for this. Uh this this year, uh JK Dobbins has 323 rushing yards, three touchdowns, 5.7 yards per carry. Saquon uh is has 200 No, sorry, that was a different stat. Uh he has actually 237 rushing yards so 100 less three touchdowns same as JK and 3.1 yards per carry nearly half the yards per carry is J as JK Dobbins and the thing that makes it even more impressive is that he’s doing this JK’s doing this with sharing the the workload about 50/50 with RJ Harvey. JK Dobbins has been on the field um for 51% of the Broncos offensive snaps. Saquon Barkley has been on the field for 85% of the Eagles snaps. Now, Saquon does have uh like 70 more receiving yards than JK, but no more touchdowns. Um so JK still has more yards from scrimmage than Saquon yet being on the field for 35% less uh of the time. And uh the offensive line, the Broncos have a great offensive line. Um, if you look at PFF, I believe it’s like uh uh the mid-grade uh run blocking offensive line. The Eagles, it’s not like they’re dealing with the worst offensive line either. Um, okay. So, Howie Roseman calls up right now. We’ll offer you Saquon for JK straight up. You accepting the trade? Well, we know about the injury history for which just for Sunday they say one week. Let’s do one week trade. Oh, long term. Either one. The answer is the It is. But you got 10. Give me JK for Sunday. Give me JK Dobbins for Sunday. He’s running like a mad man. He’s running behind a real offensive line. The Eagles The Eagles have a real offense. Not anymore. That run game is not Beckton and Yeah, Mai Beckton’s out. Who was the other one that they had to replace? The center’s been gone for a while now. Lane Johnson’s hurt. Like, so the big difference for Saquon is that last year he had 3.8 yards per carry before contact. That’s down to 1.7. like they just are not finding ways to like get him going. It’s it’s not a Saquon problem to me. It’s just a that offense is not maybe it’s a play calling, whatever it may be. Maybe they’re running into the wrong looks. They are not finding ways to create opportunities. For reference, Dobbins is at three yards per carry before. You know, you know who is finding ways to make opportunities? JK Dobbins. We talked about it yesterday. His vision that he has. Uh didn’t Benny say he’s got the best vision from a Broncos running back. So, everyone that’s torturing me in the Toyota chat, uh he’s got the stats. He’s got the vision. He’s playing with his hair on fire. And uh someone said, “Let’s be real here, Zach.” Okay, let’s be real. When JK Dobbins is healthy, he is uh he has third best yards per carry in NFL history. Think about that. Yeah. I’m not talking about RJ Harvey, a rookie that we’ve only seen in a couple game. I’m talking about when he’s healthy. And is JK Dobbins healthy right now? Sure is. And so he’s upped his yards per carry average this year over his career. And his career was the third best coming into this career. His career is four point or 5.4. Now he’s at 5.7 this year. And Sean is finally realizing what to do with him. Keep him in for an entire series. JK talked about how important that was. So yes, for this game. I love that. I love that you have that take. I love that for you as well. Um, and I was actually one of the takes that I wanted to have on today’s show is that um, JK Dobbins might be my favorite Bronco right now. Um, so I don’t like that I’m having to choose between him and that’s what I said yesterday. Um, like I love J that interview he did in Spanish after the game was some of the best vibes I’ve just ever seen in an interview ever. Um, he was practicing Spanish in the locker room. He he absolutely crushed it. Uh, yes. Yes. See, uh, I kind of want that on a shirt. Bonix SS. Um, well, I know a place I can make one. Yeah, except we can’t put Bose’s name on it. Um, yeah. 10 SS. Could it be Bo? Just Bo. Anyways, um, I love JK, man. And maybe maybe JK is the best running back in the NFL and he’s just never been healthy enough to prove it. Um and maybe we get that this year. God, I hope that’s the case. Um but but if not, it’s still Saquon who was the best in the NFL. Yes, Saquon is you guys are living in last year. You’re living in last year. I hope so. the tables have turned from the first segment to the second cuz cuz well cuz in the beginning I was the one saying these Eagles are different than last year and you know now we flip sides now I’m living last year versus No, we got I’m living in this year with how the Eagles are. They win every close game. They’re 4-0. That that’s all you care about especially as a Super Bowl team. They don’t need to prove that they’re dominant. So no, I’m looking at everything with this Eagles team. It’s interesting because when we talked about this at some point in the offseason, it must have been like the schedule release show. Uh I talked about how I think the Eagles are going to be worse this year for several reasons and all of those things have come true and it just still doesn’t matter. They still find ways to win. Um but like the loss of Mai Beckton really big. Yes. Um about 67 340. Yes. 67. Uh I don’t get that. Uh that was a Nick Bonito dance as well or a sack dance celebration, but that that’s hurting them a lot. Um the departures they had on defense is are showing up um for them and it and it’s just like they just have that winners mentality. So the Broncos are going to have to somehow dig deep to find their winners mentality. And honestly, if they can run the football like they did last week and then just do it way more Yeah. they can, you know, you’re you’re going to be one of those teams that has the opportunity to like take someone’s will out there. And that that was my biggest issue with with the play calling in Monday night’s game. I thought, Sean, overall, and I I’m not criticizing, but moving forward, it can’t be where you end the game at almost a 50/50. Um because the Broncos just ran the ball all the time in the fourth. It needs to be 50/50 throughout the game in order to help Bo, in order to help JK. Man, it it felt like in that third quarter when the Broncos didn’t get any points on the board, they were just throwing the ball over and over and over again. Let’s let’s have a 50-50 split in the first quarter, in the second quarter, in the third quarter, and the fourth quarter, especially to beat this Eagles team. Time of possession is huge. They destroyed the Bengals in time possession, like almost 38 minutes to 22 minutes. If you do that against this Eagles team that needs to run the ball, that needs to have sustained drives, man, you’re going to take all the wind out of their sales. And uh um they’re they’re going to have to abandon Saquon Barkley. And that’s exactly what you want them to do. Yeah. Yeah. Any way we could get uh Jaylen Carter to spit on someone early in the game? Oo. Who who would do the best job of getting under his skin right away? JK. Quinn. It probably is J. Um and I’ll tell you what about JK just because you were talking about he how he’s your favorite player. He is the exact same guy on TV as he is in the locker room as he is when he’s one-on-one with media as he is when he’s in a scrub. He is such a great guy. Beacon of light. He freaks me out. Not just incredibly nice to me, he’s incredibly nice to everyone I see him ever interact with. He goes out of his way. I mean, he he might be like the nicest Bronco that I’ve that I’ve ever covered, and I’ve covered some really nice Broncos, but he is such a good guy. And as as we all know, sometimes guys are great on camera and it seems like, man, this guy’s so lovable. Off camera, not the case. That is not with JK Dobbins. So, I’m all for you about him just being the Bronco. Man, I don’t know if the Broncos will sign into a long-term contract just because of his injury history. But if he does sign a long-term contract, that’s a guy from Mr. Bronco. And Mr. Bronco, when when he said, “I hope you guys love me at the end of the year,” how did you interpret that? I just thought you well because he said it multiple times now repeatedly. Um saying essentially that same thing like I hope the media still loves me. I hope and says and sometimes when people are too nice they’re kind of hard to talk to. Have Have you noticed that there’s sometimes those people where it’s just like you are so usually happens to me with like a friend’s mom, right? Where it’s just like you are so like laserlike in your neness that it’s hard to match. I feel like I have to raise my tone voice when I talk. Right. Exactly. And he is like he is so good of a person that it just makes it very hard. So not very hard. It makes it’s a different conversation than others where just like hey the way I interpreted it was him saying I hope I’m healthy. That’s how I took it as well. Yeah. That’s exactly how I took it. Not not necessarily to your face but like talking about him. Um I think that’s that’s what he was talking about. Man, I just think he like comes up to me in the locker room, which yeah, doesn’t happen all the time, which just makes it gosh, I love I love JK. And I’m happy that everyone across the country uh is starting to realize that, too, because I mean, he he would have if he didn’t get he essentially suffered the Javvante Williams injury um worse. Yeah. In uh in Baltimore. If he didn’t have that, he would still be with the Ravens. He’s 26 years old. That’s what’s so crazy about him. When I think about him, I’m like, “Oh, man. He’s probably 30, 31, uh, past his prime or or, you know, just just about to hit his prime.” No, he’s 26 years old. He would be one of the best running backs in the NFL if he just didn’t uh continue to get injured. So, JK, we are pulling for you. And, um, I’ll take you over Saquon for this Sunday. Prove me right, please. Please. I do. I think his numbers will be better. I think that we’ll leave. I think statistically fantasy-wise I would take JK just as a player I just wouldn’t make. So statistically if you think the Broncos are going to win then wouldn’t you just do that? Well because I think if you put Saquon in his shoes the 100 yards might be like 150. Maybe Squan’s hitting the wall. That off that offense doesn’t know how to run the football anymore. They’ve lost it. And maybe they’ll figure it out but just their running back’s part of that. Yeah. I mean, they’re just not giving him good opportunities is what it comes back to for me. Something that we do agree on is our friends over at It’s our most delicious friends we have over at Taco Bell. Guys, this past weekend, um had an opportunity to stop at a couple of places and I was like, “No, we’re going to Taco Bell.” And I got the crunch wrap and uh got the beans instead of the meat and then also got some other things with the meat. Uh, the Crunch Wrap is so freaking good. And the cool thing about the Crunch Wrap, you have so many opportunities to put all the sauce on that you could ever want. So, got the fire sauce, mild, loaded up with their sauce, and they’ll give you all the sauce you could ever want in your life. And so, I love Taco Bell. We love Taco Bell. Oh, come on now. You’re making me hungry right now. So, if you want to get it, go to Taco Bell. They’re also a proud sponsor of CU Athletics. They’ll be donating $1,000 to the Golden Buffalo Scholarship Foundation for every touchdown CU scored. Buffs love the bell. Also, shout out to our friends over at Toyota. Uh, I got the opportunity to drive a Toyota Tundra the other day. Oh, and my god, I felt so strong, powerful, manly. That’s what they look like. Uh, I was like, man, this I get it now. I get why people want these giant trucks. I was just like cranking country music, driving in my pickup truck, getting ready for the Broncos game. And boy, did it feel amazing. Um, but whether I go with the Tundra, I might go 4Erunner, I might go uh Land Cruiser, they have so many awesome models over at Toyota and a lot of people are coming up to me these days saying like, “You convinced me to buy a Toyota and it was one of the best decisions I made.” So, join that group. I’ve never met anyone who said, “You convinced me to buy a Toyota.” And I hate it. That just doesn’t happen. So, if you want to get in the Toyota family, visit a Front Range Toyota store at a location near you. Also, uh, we have a big announcement coming later today. You guys are stay tuned for that one. But, uh, keep your eyes out. Uh, and by the way, I’m just curious. If you’re going to be with the Broncos and us in London, or you’re just going to the game out there in London, drop a little uh Union Jack emoji, the flag in the chat. Yes. I want to see something. I want to see who’s going to be out there. So, shout out to our uh our friends over there in the UK, Europe, or in the US who are making the trip over there, or any other continent going over to the game in London. I want to see who’s going to be there. And one week from now, we will all be there. I can’t wait for that, man. Yes, our trip there last time is like one of my favorite memories of my entire career covering the Broncos or just working in this industry. I mean, just a daily meat pie is all it takes to make me happy. Wow. Wow. That’s what they’re all about. There’s nothing weird about that. Yeah. Here was doing something else and he just There’s nothing weird about tracks. I can’t wait for the Indian food over there. Man, that’s the one thing that I missed out on last time. And since that trip, what was that? 2022, I’ve gotten really into Indian food. I cannot wait. I’m going to make sure that we all get a a reservation together at Dashum. But then I found out about a new one or another one that I have to go to as well that’s like Michelin Star or something along those lines. I’ll I’ll take the Indian food over the meat pies on that trip. Yeah. Which is not a pause. So the chat can in no way is that a pause. Shout out to Joshua. He dropped the Union Jack in there. Yep. We’re going to see you guys there. I can’t I cannot wait at all. Um okay, so this this Eagles team, what’s the key to beating them? Uh just don’t make stupid mistakes. Like again, they’re up five to one in the turnovers. That’s why they’re there. Like be because they’re up five to one in the turnovers. Um you can’t be turning the ball over. You can’t be taking stupid penalties. You can’t be forgetting your assignment. Like I like I mentioned, you know, the the toss was that play they kept coming back to. Six of the seven they have the crack block from the receiver. The other one they didn’t. And maybe that’s just a different play. Sure. Seemed a lot like the other plays and it seemed like one of the receivers might have forgot their job or thought the tight end was going to handle whatever. You just can’t have those little mistakes in a game like this. There can’t be blown coverages. There can’t be any of those sorts of things. And if if you do all that, it’s going to come down to the last few minutes. And I I like the Broncos chances then. And at the exact same time, and and this is where I want to get into our Jaylen Herz conversation, so I make sure that that Ryan can give his take as well. You have to have Jaylen Herz make a mistake, which he has not done this entire season. And that I mean that is where most football games come down to is are you going to beat yourself or is the other team going to beat themsel? And so far the Eagles have not beat themselves. Uh and and the Eagles have made the other team beat themselves. Guys, Jaylen Herz this year, five passing touchdowns, okay, through four games. That’s not great. 17th most in the NFL. So again, not great. Zero interceptions. Mhm. Best in the NFL. The only guy to not turn the ball over from the quarterback position. He has one fumble, but it was not lost. The Eagles recover it. So literally zero turnovers from the quarterback position is pretty insane. The 27th most passing yards. Um but he does have the 10th best QBR, 71.6. the 10th best pass rating, 101.5. But here’s what takes him over the edge. He is the first quarterback in NFL history with five passing touchdowns, four rushing touchdowns, and no interceptions in the team’s first four games of a season. Jaylen Herz, when you talk about him, and and I think this is something that I didn’t do a good enough job pointing to yesterday. We’re not, at least me, I won’t speak for Ryan, I’m not saying he’s a top five passer in the NFL, but the quarterback position can be so many other things about leading the offense, about rushing, running, about passing. And when you take all of that in, there’s no doubt to me that he’s definitely top 10, but a top five quarterback because he is running the ball in. He is able to throw the ball. He does have the weapons to help him in both the the air and the ground game. This is a guy that does not beat himself. I mean, regardless of this season or last year, he does not turn the ball over. And that is like the quarterback’s number one job that he just does not do. Yeah, absolutely. Um, I said this on our pregame show, but that’s actually our least viewed show of the week, which it should have more. You guys should watch our pregame show. It’s 30 minutes leading up to the game. It’s a lot of fun. Who wouldn’t want to watch that? Um, but I want to make sure I say it on a larger platform so everyone can hear me say this. Um, I have decided to declare myself as the world’s biggest believer in QB wins. A lot of people trying to push right there with you. A lot of people trying to push back on QB wins. Oh, you don’t know ball if you if you think QB wins matter. I don’t care. You can say whatever you want about me. Wins almost always directly correlate to quarterback play. I don’t care what you guys think. Can I be the VP? Yes. You’re the you’re the press. Yes. Uh, so, you know, there’s a lot of overcorrections and corrections in football. people are going to start to go back to realizing that quarterback wins uh are a real thing and we’ll be there waiting for them. Show me when a quarterback has been great and not got the wins over a a decent sample size. Like last year you could point to Joe Burrow and that that’s a great example. But look look at over his career uh and look at uh over quarterback’s careers. If you’re good, you’re going to win. Exactly. So my point is Jaylen Herz wins. Yep. over and over and over and over again. He won a Super Bowl. The number one thing that people say, “Okay, well that you got to prove you get over this.” He he has played better in two Super Bowls than Patrick Mahomes in both of them were headtohead. Um the guy I don’t care what you think about how he passes the ball or how he operates, whatever. He runs that offense really cleanly. He does not turn the ball over. He is a force on the ground. He is the uh catalyst of the most unstoppable play in football. And that’s why to me, you know, you want to call him top six, top five, he’s definitely not top four, but somewhere in that next category, he’s right there. And you know, it’s it’s why he is it’s why he’s in the positions that he is. And it’s why the Eagles are in a lot of the positions that they’re in now. They have a great supporting cast around him, and that’s a big part of all of this. but he’s he’s a a a special quarterback who thrives in the biggest moments. And again, I’ll trade, you know, some of the aesthetic stuff for a guy that I just believe is going to go make a big play in a big moment. Also, and a era in the Toyota chat, I think trying to knock Jaylen Herz says, “Where does nine total touchdowns in four games rank for quarterbacks?” It’s number two in the NFL in terms of total touchdowns. I think Josh Allen and Lamar Jackson have 10 total touchdowns. Jaylen Herz’s just one step below. And so if you want to look at like the flashy stuff, while Jayen Herz might just be bulldozing into the end zone, he’s still getting the touchdowns just like these other ones are. Um, and Jaylen Herz does not have an interception or or a turnover. Those other quarterbacks have turnovers. So like the stats, you just have to be a little creative and add the rushing to the passing and that gets the full picture. Yeah. My thing with Jayen Herz is just that he’s it’s a lot of one read passing and that’s where when you look at other guys you see some of that with Joe Burrow and like Tom Brady has like a super high first read percentage some of that’s pre- snap and you give him credit whatever but but if I were to choose a quarterback I would just prefer somebody who drops back can go from one to two to three and consistently finds those other guys and some of that again some of it’s designed there’s a lot of RPOS’s in that offense um there’s there’s um a lot of there’s a lot of good players in that offense and so that first read is open more often. Um, it’s my complaints are just that there’s a lot of situations where I would prefer to have somebody else, you know, on a third and 10. That’s not one of the 20 guys who I would probably pick, you know, it’s just that there are a bunch of other situations where he’s pretty good. And that’s where, you know, I don’t know. As as our awesome friend, uh, Jordan Palmer said, the rankings don’t matter. You know, it’s just about what you do. And I think Shawn Peyton probably not like a Jaylen Herz guy. I think that there are maybe some other things that he would like. Um, but there are things that he does well. The tush push is obviously great. Having him makes that work. Um, important to note that third and fourth and ones, um, since 2017, QB sneaks have converted 89% of the time. It’s like it’s a super high percentage play anyway. Um, they just have the identity that they go back to and all that. I think it’s not that he’s a bad quarterback, it’s just that when you play against him, he’s not the piece that you fear. I think that’s especially true when you’re the Broncos and you send five so consistently that you’re getting a pass rush. Um, and you’re not you’re not as worried about the second plays because I think with him it’s the not making mistakes. It’s the quick reads, those quick hitting slants, all that sort of stuff. And then it’s, you know, leaking out of the pocket, making something happen. Um, and I don’t expect him to be able to get out of the pocket against the Broncos. You uh you should be afraid of him cuz he’s the key to the game. And and if he’s the key to the game, then that’s the guy that you should be afraid of. 20-1 in his past 21 starts, 4-0 this year, coming off a Super Bowl. Um, and that’s why I believe the key to the game is you turn Jaylen Herz over, you’re going to win. Good luck doing that because he doesn’t really do it though. And so, if that’s the key to the game in my mind, you absolutely should fear him. Absolutely. I mean, you you have to find a way to stop just their thing, right? Exactly. And like, it’s a it’s a machine that has a lot of different operating parts to it. Saying all of that, I still feel the way I felt after Monday Night Football. After Monday Night Football was the first time that I thought, “Wow, the Broncos can win this game because the Broncos are good, too.” Uh we we just took a lot of today to focus on the Broncos opponent, the Eagles, and we’ll dive into this matchup tomorrow more. So, we we’ll have Baldi on with us as well. And we got a super chat that I want to hit before we get out of here. Um, and we’ve got it from Ryan who says, “Riley Moss looked pissed and played great. Love to see it.” Also, what happened to your guys’ weekly parlays hit on Mim’s touchdown plus 430. Broncos props are goated. I don’t know. First couple weeks, Dre was hitting me up asking for the picks and I just haven’t heard from them. I’m not sure. Okay. I bet they’ll be back. I mean, a great reason to watch the pregame show, right?
