[Detroit Red Wings] The roster has been cut down to 40 players

I’m kinda surprised they didn’t give Bear more of a look. No, he wasn’t going to make the team, but you’d think the experience would be valuable. Maybe they just want him healthy for the WHL season.
at least with bear going back to the W i’ll be able to see him at the winterhawks games

It was fun to see Bantle throw the mits. And also throw that other player lol
I mean no disrespect to players who are 3000x the players I’ll ever be, but these cuts and waives today have left basically just the NHL core, the young hopefuls, the fringe vets, and Becher and Tuomisto seemingly forgotten about in a corner somewhere.
Also I really thought Guimond and Gylander would at least split a road game or something
Here are other players that were waived this afternoon from the NHL squad:
* Sheldon Dries
* John Leonard
* Dominik Shine
* Austin Watson
* William Lagesson
* Ian Mitchell
Former Griffin and Red Wing Joe Hicketts was also waived by the Kings.
Bear and Tralmaks gave it a go but they weren’t going to make the team. None of these other guys were really in the mix at all.
Huh, Carson Bantle was a couple grades below me, in school. I didn’t even realize he had these kinda prospects! Was always good growing up, definitely better than the rest of us 😅 hope the best for him
