2013 was also the final year that the Pirates scored a run in a playoff game. Getting shutout in both 2014 and 2015.

Blackout, Cueto chant. Man, times were good.
They might as well hang a banner for this win because it’s the biggest one the franchise has had in my entire 30 years of existence
I’m a Steelers, Penguins, and Buckeyes fan. I’ve seen some championships in my lifetime. None felt as good as this game did
🥲
I will never forget that ball drop. And the kid jumping off the Clemente Bridge
I was at this game, probably was the last time I was a happy Pirates fan.
I watch this every time it pops up. I was there, still get chills every single time I rewatch it.
Marlon Byrd was such a bopper
The only positive baseball memory I have in over 30 years
So now, less than fifteen years later, you can go up on a steep hill in Allegheny County and look West, and with the right kind of eyes you can almost see the high-water mark—that place where the wave finally broke and rolled back.
I remember watching this game and my uncle who loves in the area had a recording of the Cueto chant at PNC.
I have been a Pirate fan since 1969. Been to spring training, Forbes Field, the first game at 3 Rivers, playoff games, World Series games you name it. Was watching this from Kentucky where I lived at the time. The first and only game to bring tears to my eyes.
How many reading this honestly think we won’t see another for at least 15 years?
I was in Marine Combat Training during this. We couldn’t have phones during it but about halfway through heard the pirates beat the reds in the wildcard game. I truly couldn’t believe it.
gives me chills every time i watch it. distinctly remember being in my college apartment standing behind our couch watching the Cueto chant and feeling those same chills like i was there.
also makes me mad we’re being robbed of watching postseason baseball like this because of Bob Nutting.
Pirates fans are holding onto this moment for dear life
I don’t want what I am about to say to be misconstrued. However, I have to say that at the end of the day, that moment is overrated.
Let me put it a different way. That moment was incredible! I still get chills when I see that video. However, if we’re looking at it objectively, it didn’t mean anything.
We never won the division. We never won a playoff series. We never did anything of note even during those, our Halcyon days.
Yes, it was a very cool moment. However, for that to be the high-water mark for a historic franchise over a full three decade span is pretty embarrassing.
The Pirates are the worst organization in Major League baseball.
Almost brings tears to the eyes 🥺😭
I was there! It was amazing… but I’m getting tired of seeing these highlights. 13 years ago and in 2015 we had a 98 win team that was dismantled that offseason thanks to nutting. I want to see playoffs now and it doesn’t seem like that will ever happen
This was one of the greatest moments in my life but in my opinion it stopped being a fond memory after 10 years. Now I just get angry it hasn’t happened again since. Celebrating it every year to me just seems weird and disingenuous now ffs ¯_(ツ)_/¯ I hate it here haha
Most exciting sporting event that I’ve been to. Left that game with a huge grin, no voice, and covered in beer. It was wild up in sec 325!
The feeling lasted until the Michael Wacha game a week later when we knew we were cooked.
The upper deck was shaking when Martin’s blast landed in the stands. Easily the most electric sports moment of any sporting event I ever attended.
