A.J. Brown & More On Facing the Denver Broncos
Obviously, Sunday after the game, I let my frustrations boil over. I didn’t speak to the media. Um, I had a chance to correct my my frustrations and I continue to let it boil over. That’s on me. You know, I take full accountability on that, posting that. Uh, my message on Twitter wasn’t directed to anyone in the building. Um, my coaches, I’m a quarterback, uh, my GM, nobody, you know. Uh, like I said, I take full accountability. Um, I have a open communication with all my coaches and with my quarterback as well. Me and my coaches KP, Nick, we we discuss weekly about trying to get this thing on the same page. Um, and uh, so yeah, here we go. Go ahead. What are your frustrations? Uh, I think it’s I think it’s normal to have frustrations because of the standard that we hold ourselves to, you know, and we have a lot of talent on offense and and to be honest, you know, defense defense and special teams have been lowkey carrying us, you know, and it’s it’s just like we need to clean up what we need to clean up and get on the same page and, you know, and play to the building that we that we say that we can and be who we are called to be. So it’s it’s a standard that we preach and so uh so it’s yeah so it’s easy to have that frustration. I think it’s fair to have that frustration. Uh but like I said I just think like that for a little bit based on the content of that tweet it seemed like maybe you were feeling like you weren’t being listened to. Is that the case or is that not the case? No. Again like I said uh the tweet wasn’t directed to anyone because you know I am listened to. Like I said I have an open uh communication with my coaches Nick uh KP. I talk all the time with those guys. Nick FaceTime me on Monday when I’m out in the building. This is this is like a every weekly thing, you know. Uh that’s the relationship that we have. So, uh that’s not the case at all. It was post on your mind for a while. No, no, no, no, no. I mean, obviously, obviously, you know, you can use that verse for anything in life, you know. So, uh like I said, it’s like it’s not directed at anyone. Obviously, I got a lot of stuff on my phone. I got a lot of memes in my phone as you know, uh, people know. So, I’m the meme king. So, AJ, you mentioned you talked to Siri and Kevin quite a bit. How about Jaylen? Like, what’s your chemistry like with Jaylen as you guys try to get this fixed? Yeah. So, we’re always working to uh get on the same page. Uh, it’s not that much of communication because of like during the game, I’m not the the person that’s on the sidelines saying, “Give me the ball, give me the ball.” So, I don’t understand where people say he’s forcing me the ball because I’m complaining. And if you ask any of my teammates, I’m probably the the quietest one on the on the sideline. I don’t even go to the huddle during the timeouts, you know. I try to let the game come to me and I don’t even tell KP call this, I’m call that. You know, that’s the player I am, you know. Um, so how about during the week? What’s your communication with him more? U, we’re always trying to just get better. We we uh in the meetings, we’re we’re talking and talking through things. So, just to clarify, AJ, are you happy here? Absolutely. This this this is home. This is this is my home, you know. Uh it’s unfortunately I did it to myself, you know. Uh I won’t even say unfortunately I did it to myself, but this is my home, man. I love it here, you know. Um but you just see frustration cuz obviously, you know, we want to be great and most definitely I want to be great as well. So do you feel like there’s misconception? I’m sure you saw it all over social media. You feel like there’s misconception of how that tweet or the messaging was construed? Yeah, I think so. Like again, I take accountability for that, you know. Uh, but I think it’s fair to, you know, uh, to want the ball to get to get us going, you know, uh, like last week against the Rams, you know, I caught I caught the sluggo, got the offense going next play, open up for Dallas or the safety came over to my side and opened it up. So, you know, I don’t think it’s a bad thing for wanting the ball. It’s not just for targets or anything to put numbers up. But, no, I see that um that we’re struggling and I’m a guy that that that wants the ball in those times when we can’t find a way. Give it to me. like when the game’s on the line, give the ball to me. I want that. I want that pressure. I put it on myself, you know, and I work hard for it. And so, and that’s what, you know, the the misconstruction or whatever you miscon misconrue, you know, whatever uh perspective you you can about me, but you know, it is what it is. You know, and I don’t care to be honest because my teammates know my teammates know that when the game’s on the line, look at me, you know, and I want to everybody in the stadium to know that, you know, that’s not a secret, you know. I’m not shying away from that. And so that’s where you see that frustration because that hunger comes out and cuz I see we struggling and I believe that you give the ball to me, I’m going to open up things and I’m going to get this thing going. You can put it on my back. So you said it’s not directed anymore. What was your I guess your intent um when you did post again. That was a a moment where I let frustration boil over. Strange feeling being 4 and0 but not maybe feeling like a part of the group game. Uh yeah, absolutely it is tough, you know, because you want to help contribute to the win. You know, obviously uh it’s been a little tough, you know, uh got the ball in the second half of the Rams game, not not getting uh as many targets to help contribute, but you know, it is tough. It’s it’s it’s tough to stay engaged because we’re on an island. You know, a lot of things has to go right. The ball has to come. Guys have to block up front, you know, and then we got to do our job and win and then make the play. So, uh you don’t get targets. You don’t see the ball for half the half the game, two hours, man, it’s hard to stay engaged, but you know, we’re professionals and we continue to try to, you know, make the most of it when the numbers call. So, do a couple more. Are you confident that this will get fixed offensively? I’m very optimistic, man. I trust my coaches, you know, I trust I trust Jaylen uh to to we can get this get this thing figured out. we’re working towards it and um so because we see it at times it’s just the the inconsistent is it’s starting to be consistent you know and that’s where the frustration comes comes in at because of you know as of as of last year you would look back and you see like we’re having a was on a sea was on a historic pace running the ball but we weren’t passing the ball too well right so now this year we’re struggling a little bit running the ball and also we still struggling passing the ball so it’s just like all right let’s get this thing fixed before we run into a serious team and now we learn from losing instead of learn from winning, you know. So that’s that’s the message. So what has been need to be made in the uh in the passing game to get it going? You know, I won’t I won’t get into all that, but uh honestly just being on the same page. I’m I’m going to say that every every every week cuz that’s what it is. It being on the same page, being where we need to be, ball being where we need to be at on time, and you know, everybody in sync. What has been the reception uh from your teammates to the social media post? It’s normal here, you know. So, I don’t know if they put on a facade, but I think I’m still cool in here. So, it’s cool. Thanks everybody. I think nine times in the game, is that what you mean when you say you’re not on the same page? Obviously, all of them are legitimate. We’re calling plays. He’s throwing. He’s not throwing just to miss on purpose, you know. And obviously I’m trying to run my run my routes to catch the ball, you know. Uh it’s just, you know, some some things happening, misses or block or whatever the case may be, you know. So just trying to get on the same page and see it the same way and be where I need to be so we can make plays. Uh but you know, just being positive, being negative in any type of way is not going to get you nowhere cuz what’s going to happen is going to happen. So you got to just control what you can control. Have you always been like that? Yeah, for sure. my uh I feel like I I kind of uh developed it and more so like towards the end of my um my high school. I I always call myself like a optimistic realist. Like I’m real with myself for sure, but we of course we always optimistic. Oh, sorry. He’s always good. With the way that um Zach and Jiad are playing. Yeah. Is it going to be hard for you when you’re able to fully go if you I mean able to fully go? Just being able to fully go. I mean, if you clear it, you open my practice window open. I feel like I’m able to fully go now. Uh, what you mean hard for me? I mean, I I control what I control. I’m out there. I’m playing. I’m practicing. Uh, that’s all I can do. Control what I control. What What have your impressions been of Jad Came with the Wings play? Yeah, I feel like uh I feel like we’ve been playing good uh overall as a whole defense. We have been playing decently and we just got to continue to just try to get better. take it one day at a time and uh our goal is just to be one and0 at the end of every day. So, we continue to do that. We’ll continue to get better throughout the season. What about Jihad? Yeah, like I said, he been playing good. He been playing good and him and Zach and the whole defense has been playing decently throughout the whole throughout the first four games. We just going to continue to get better. Do you think about what your role is going to be uh once you get on the field or is this uh I control what I control. You know, I I I know I can play. I know we can go out there and and ball. So, I control what I control. Continue to ball. Continue to to get better uh mentally, physically, uh emotionally throughout the whole thing. No matter what, just continue to get better. What kind of conversations have you had with the Vic throughout this process? Uh I mean, the only conversation we have had is um about the opponent we playing. That’s it. We haven’t really talked about nothing else but but scheme, what we doing this week, and things like that. That’s the only thing. Kobe, you were around the team every practice. You’re going through your rehab. How important is that for you to to do something? Well, I mean I mean for me it’s like I knew I was going to be back. I knew how my body felt. Like I said, I I’ve been cleared for a good bit right now. So, it’s like uh I didn’t feel like I was apart from the team. Like I feel like I’m still on the team and I didn’t want to miss a beat. I literally did everything with the team other than practice and play. So, that was it. So, you feel good just playing right now? I mean, yeah. I mean, he wouldn’t open, he wouldn’t have activated my window if not. Zach Bond’s got a big smile back here. How helpful has he been in this process? You know, Zach, my guy, Zach, my guy, all the linebackers has been uh real helpful. Uh encouraging me, you know. Uh we we always kind of uh pray at the end of every practice. They always kind of pray like, “Yeah, glad to have co back today.” So, um they’ve been very helpful. uh very uh every every little ask of me or what I what I think what I see uh I’ve been helping as much as I can without playing and uh they’ve been helpful asking me every week every day like we going to be back we can’t wait this that and third everybody and you mentioned you’re you’re looking at the positivities of this always looking at the optimistic side of this being off the field maybe how has that helped the mental side of your game uh I mean just seeing it from a coach’s perspective uh I’ve done it before and just continue knowing the defense more being in the second year of the same defense, you trying to you kind of get a little bit more detail, you get more a little bit more intricate in the uh the scheme of things. So, uh yeah, as as optimistic as you are, given how much of a of a grind it is to to be going through rehab, was getting on the field today, like did that lift your spirits? Is that For sure. I mean, it’s been like like I said, it’s been like it’s been on the calendar like calendar. I know that I know that Wednesday of this week I was going to practice uh for literally since before uh 20 53 dropped. Okay. Uh as soon as I found out they was going to put me on pup, I knew that this was the day I practice. So yeah, it’s been like trouble sleeping last night. What was the uh No, no, it was actually go to sleep. Uh I went to bed 30 minutes earlier cuz I was like I I want to be make sure my body feels good. You saw it during camp, you know, the confidence that he was playing with. um you know, now it’s it’s showing on the field. What do you think his greatest strength is as as a player? Is it that preparation that he puts in or Yeah, preparation and how he covers on on the field. Um the way he covers guys, you know, he’s he’s got to be up there with with some of the best in the league, I think. Um you know, and he’s he’s going to continue to do that, I know. But it’s just fun to see the work that we put in together. Um, and then you know him do that on the field, do what he does. Um, it’s fun to watch. How much have you seen him grow from year one to year two? He’s grown a lot. Grown a lot. Um, a lot more confident. Um, as you guys can probably see, um, talking a little more trash, which is fun. Um, but, uh, no, he’s he’s done a great job. You know, I think, you know, year one, he had that exper that experience starting all season and then, you know, he’s only in year two. Um, you know, he’s got a some of his best football ahead of him still and and he’s playing at a high level already and I know he’ll he’ll continue to do that. When did you notice he was getting that significantly more? I think you saw during during training camp um you know whether he was traveling back and forth with with AJ or um flipping sides, you know, each and every um each and every day um covering whoever it was, you know, he doesn’t really care. He’s he’s fearless on the field. Um, and I think you saw that, you know, starting in training again. What about your game? Where have you grown year one, year two? I think I’ve I’ve gotten more confident definitely on on the field. Um, feel like I’ve, you know, gotten better, you know, at tackling my my block destruction in the run game. Um, and and also being able to to cover um, you know, better than than I did last year. And I think you know the confidence part you know helps with

I would love to know what they say on that Eagles group text. What WR don't want to play? Come on. We get it AJ….
We love you AJ everyone understands how much we need you
Bro just don’t post during the season 🤦🏾♂️ definitely understand your frustration though! We feel it too
#FLYEAGLESFLY #GoBIRDS #QB1 #2KSA #JD90 #AO11
Man, get him the fuckin ball. Enough with this bs. He's too talented, too great to be just getting cardio on Sundays. We cannot run the ball. OLine banged him. But surprisingly, Hurts has time in the pocket. Scheme AJ open, put him in motion, something. Putulo got until the bye for me. Mfer calling all these scary ass plays.
Nakobe has a beautiful smile ❤
It's crazy that whenever the Eagles show the slightest bit of weakness, people want to put all the blame on Jalen Hurts.🙄
Who’s the WR Coach? Never hear his name
A captain needs to act like a captain. This social media sub tweeting needs to just stop.
My white chocolate ❤
I think AJ has overall frustrations with the expectations of the offense and not meeting them and not solely him getting the ball.
I just wish AJ picked up another translation of the Bible. The msg ain’t it.
The offensive game plan every game should be to get Aj brown the ball. Simple.
We understand AJ. It will get fixed.
Jalen & AJ went from best friends to “there’s not that much communication.” Football has ruined their relationship. It’s no longer a friendship or even like a Burrow/Chase relationship
Thats what leadership looks like when you are willing to say the things that need to be said no matter the consequences the team will be better for it
Sucks that AJ and Jalen don’t talk and get things figured out.
I know Nakobe is the odd man out as a starting linebacker but he’s such a great communicator and teammate, I really hope they can find a way to keep him, Baun and Campbell one more year.
We love you and understand. ❤️🦅
You're frustrated and that's ok! You want the ball that ok! Your frustration is coming from the whack play calling …keep it real! Stay True …so we can fix the issues!
Drinking game take a shot everytime coop says “um” or “you know”
Yeah AJ not seeing a target for 2 hours then spamming him is terrible play calling 😂
…and remember be ready to step up when it’s time to accept blame, yourself..don’t include no one else like the Seattle game 2023. You won’t play against Forbes Jr. every week champ.
…also..since you plan on being perfect or close to it.👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾
GO BIRDS!!!!
🦅🦅🦅🦅🦅🦅🦅
Get him the ball period Jalen is getting into his ways of breaking the pocket too quickly again have to let that route develop once teams shut down the run he wants to force the ball be a Qb first then use your legs when needed I love Jalen everything he’s capable of doing he’s proved himself long ago his first Super Bowl let’s get this together. GO BIRDS 🦅!!
No accountability needed. We love you 11 take that damn ball and get yours!
We are so lucky to have AJ brown and Devonta smith we need dem forever luv saquon but just know them 2 da best
Who in the back moaning like that 🤣🤣🤣
I dont want nobody to say shit to AJ about what he said
He just wants to be the reason his team wins and other guys eat.
I'm glad he did it. If he didn't I believe Jalen and Nick would be comfortable enough with winning like this
As an eagle Jalen hurts just wants all the shine. AJ brown devontah smith at this point give me Danny dimes I peep dat shit FR hurts ain’t slick
Get open and you will get the ball. He threw to you nine times.
Listen it’s the offensive coordinator we been running the same plays for years now
Everybody saying aj getting more targets last game he just didn’t do nothing with them but dont realize the plays they run are trash. Puka, jj, chase all have coaches that scheme them open. Everytime they throw aj the ball its a contested catch they never give him a route where he’s wide open.
This was the best Q&A locker room presser with AJ for a while now. He apologized but also showed a true competitor who wants that shot, the game-winner. There's nothing wrong with wanting the ball. Jordan wanted the ball. AJ wants to be great and wants the team to be great and the fans appreciate that. Go Birds! 🦅
2023 lingers in the back of every Eagles fan's mind.
I understand & agree dawg
The eagles are open for trades for AJ brown guys 😩💔💔💔💔
Give AJ the ball man and not them stupid same routes they give him. Actually draw up real plays for him.
Too much Shaquan and injuries on the offensive line. This teams needs to be more balanced and less predictable
Mannn we love AJ, him and Jalen needa just get on the same page offense gotta get on the same page an playcalling gotta be better , but we love AJ just give him the damm ball
Fu@k all the face time, show ya love on the field, with the play calling Nick
Who remembers Todd Pinkston, James Trash, and a few other stinking WR who played here, we have a Dogg in AJ, Smitty , Dallas, , feed them guys. They're not afraid of the smoke ✌🏾
