Mad Dog says Micah Parsons’ return to Dallas was a ‘WASTE OF TIME’ 😳 | First Take

where a disgruntled AJ Brown went to X after just two receptions for seven yards against the Bucks posting this. If you’re not welcome, not listened to, quietly withdraw, don’t make a scene, shrug your shoulders, be on your way. Swag, your thoughts. Look, I don’t like the sentiment from AJ Brown, but this not new. We acting like this is something that AJ Brown has done out of the ordinary for the first time. He was disgruntled last year, and AJ Brown knows one thing about Philly. At some point, it’s going to have to be about AJ Brown making plays. That’s the reality. And I think the frustration with AJ lies with what the expectations are for himself and this offense. We all can sit here as a 4-0 Philadelphia Eagles team and say that they haven’t looked good offensively for a large majority of of of most of these games that they played. Think about the way they’ve scored. Think about the way they had to beat the Rams. That is not satisfactory. two weeks ago. If they don’t throw it to AJ Brown, they lose to the Rams. So, he’s coming from that sort of prism. I don’t know. I played with Terrell Owens in Dallas. He wanted the ball every play. It’s a It’s a It’s a It should be here. Here’s what we need to do newly. If your number one receiver doesn’t have a selfish characteristic, he’s not the guy for the position. He’s not the number one. He’s not the number one guy. And that’s where AJ Brown comes from. And then knowing you can impact games and maybe not have to be in the situations Philly has been in late in games as the wide receiver, I think gives some validity to that. I don’t like to quietly withdraw and do all of that. It seems like the lead of your team and the social media thing, but at the end of the day, AJ Brown is going to be very successful in the Philadelphia Eagles uniform. I I I think you’re wrong. I think you’re wrong about this because I think you’re missing something that’s very very important. Mhm. I think AJ Brown is a stud and at the time he got the contract which is paying him 32 million guaranteed at 84 million locking them him in with the Eagles supposedly through 2029. I think the part that you’re missing is the character of the quarterback. A lot of times that has an effect on how you choose to conduct yourself. I understand there’s exceptions. you know, a to gonna be a to. You got other guys that may be temperamental at that position. I get that part. But the willingness last year and then again this year in the throws of winning to bring that kind of attention to yourself, which automatically brings attention to your quarterback, is something most cats on a professional level would be sensitive to. And the fact that AJ is not as sensitive to that as we would expect him to be as he normally would be, especially when you got a cat like Jaylen Hurst that don’t say much and they just win different and they’re best friends. Paul Warfield never do this. Paul Warfield AJ Brown Why is it that AJ Brown is happier? Does he want to catch nine balls, 150 yards and lose or would he rather win the games? Don’t do that. Win the games. We don’t have enough time. Don’t win the games. Mad. They’re four and0. Marcus win the games. Paul Warfield. Dolphins or Browns. Which one? Dolphins. They never threw them. And they won the game two weeks ago. Well, Devonte Smith. I just had to look it up for America. Paul Warfield played from 1964 to 1977. That is who doggy just brought up. I got it. Just wanted to make sure. Got it. Just wanted to make sure. We love it. ‘s return to Dallas on Sunday turned into an offensive explosion that sent the game into overtime. Jordan Love and Dak Prescott had three touchdowns a piece in regulation, but the teams traded short field goals in OT to end in a 40 to 40 tie. Yesterday, Jerry Jones told us how he’s feeling about his team after the game. That’s a good test out there when you don’t have a player anymore. He’s not he’s lining up directly against you, plus you don’t have him on your defensive side of the ball. Now, that’s a real good test. And uh I’m glad that everybody got to see it where it goes and it left me feeling good about our trade. I thought that uh everybody expected a big challenge for the Cowboys out there uh Sunday night and uh to some degree we made the plays against a team that the expectations were that uh they had a a pretty high bar for many reasons with their team personnel quarterback and of course we’re proud of our quarterback the way he played and uh uh that gives you something right there how our quarterback has competed not just in this game but the other three games as Well, all right. Jerry seems thrilled. Dog, are your thoughts? Well, listen, it’s a 4040 tie. Green Bay was a huge favorite in the game. They played pretty well. Packers were lucky to get the tie. They had to kick the field goal at the end of the at the end of the game. They did have a 13- nothing lead. The Cowboys came back. The Packers special teams have been historically lousy. That’s Laflur’s fault. He I do a terrible job on special teams. They lost a playoff game to San Francisco because of special teams. But this Micah Parser thing, you know me, I’ve been on this. This is such a waste of time. And I don’t like to get on NBC’s. They’re good. They they’re good to us. But they made this out to be that Tom Brady was going back to New England after six Super Bowls. He had just left. They won one playoff game. He had one sack in his career in postseason play for the freaking Cowboys. They never won anything and their defense didn’t play great. And on and on and on and you watched it last week with the Ryder Cup. All their promotions. Micah back in Dallas. Who cares? Nobody cares. I want to watch the game for what it is. They didn’t watch the game because of Michael Parsons. He’s not a quarterback. And the other thing is they made a big deal about this play on the on the sack. 56 was going to make the tackle. They went on and on about how Micah saved the game. No, he didn’t. 56 whatever his name is, the linebacker. What are you the football guy? What’s his name? He was going to make the tackle for Green Bay. He was not scoring. Oh, yes, I do. He wasn’t scoring there. But on and on and on about Michael Parsons enough. I’m sick of it. I can’t tell. He’s great. I get it. But he’s not a quarterback. He left two weeks ago, man. Work. Come on. They went crazy. I don’t know how you feel about it. Don’t look at me that way. But it drove me crazy. This is their whole promotional field. Mark Parson’s back with Dallas. Nobody cared. The sports fan didn’t care. How long you been covering football? Well, covering it as a fan. You want me to go as a fan? How long you’ve been covering football? Oh, following it. How’s that? You Yeah, you know that. You know this was important. You acknowledged last week. You you because Michael Parson is back in Dallas. The game happened Sunday. Today is Wednesday. And you look how emotional you are about it. Well, I haven’t had a chance to scream about it. So now I get you got you got Patrick K. You got Patrick Kentlay ready to go. And you see nobody listens. You know that better than anybody now on Mad Dog Radio. So now I get a chance to say something. I get some viewers. Actually, they do listen. ratings up over 25%. But just just so you know, let’s get that out the way first. That’s number one. Number two, let me let me say this. Let me say this. I get where doggy’s coming from in all seriousness. Here’s the part that I want to bring up. You know, I don’t like that Jerry did that. I was about Go ahead cuz I hope I don’t like that this that that there’s a story beyond the football field. It’s like we know that Micah Parsons is big time. No, he’s not Lawrence Taylor. I get that part. And no, they didn’t win playoff games with them there. They just won one playoff game. I got that. I understand that. But what I’m saying is we know the brother big time. And what you’re trying to do is what you’re prioritizing. If you’re Jerry, you’re prioritizing I made the right decision by not signing him. That’s what you’re focused on. You’re focused on making sure you win the narrative. That’s what you focused on. And I’m like, really? That’s what you’re going to do? All the brother? Because again then it brings us back to what was the issue in the first place. You did offer him $41 million. Hey, you offer him $41 million. So, so why are you talking about him like like he’s damn near trash. Now, I know he ain’t say that. Michael P is a great player, but we also saw some vulnerabilities. We know because that’s why we let him go and all. Come on, man. You don’t have to do that. You better than that, Jerry. You’re better than that. You know, I love you, buddy. But you’re better than that. Okay. You don’t have to do that. Micah Parsons is big time. He’s an elite player in the game. You turned on him because he wanted you to speak to his representation and stopped acting like a conversation with a 25year-old soon to be 26-year-old at the time was tantamount to negotiating with David Muligetta. That’s the re that’s what you that that’s the story right there. And so for Jerry to try to gloss over it, you know, it he doesn’t realize that in the end, first of all, I expect Green Bay to be better than Dallas. I expect Green Bay to be in the playoffs and not Dallas. But most importantly, when that happens and when we’re revisiting this conversation, assuming Micah plays the way he’s capable of playing, it’s not about the fact that he departed from Dallas. We’re going to remember the why. And the why was there’s the GM, there’s the player, and way way way down the road, as he said on my show, is the agent. Come on, man. That’s what this is about. And that’s what we have to remember, man. Dog, you have a bunch of conversations about football scenarios all year. You know this, Peter. And you start talking about like what what what do these moves like? This move is symbolic of Jerry’s personal vendetta. And I think people try to construct it around football. One, I feel like the statement was conceding that you thought y’all were going to lose. For you to be that damn happy about a tie. You conceding to everybody else that we I thought we wasn’t going to win this game and it was going to be an embarrassing night for the Dallas Cowboys. I have a major problem with that. Now, I don’t know contextually if the players are going to read it that way, but I have never walked off of any field of competition thinking that a tie felt good. That’s number one. When he makes this statement about the quarterback was indispensable, which one ain’t? That’s playing at a high level for you like that. That’s not any you not telling us anything about the Dak Prescott situation in isolation to Michael Parsons being gone from your football team. My point is this. You did the same thing with Dak last year and the year previous to that. Your personal vendetta. I I agree with that. What I’m saying is that the reason he’s bringing that up is because he ultimately reached an agreement with Dak and he wants everybody to know, see, I kept this dude. I kept this I do pay. I do pay. It’s a It’s a quarterback. It’s indispensable when you have one. You got quarterbacks making a quarter of a billion dollars right now that ain’t playing near as good as Dak Prescott. Dak Prescott was a Dak Prescott in three seasons won 12 games with the Cowboys. The ones where he was available beyond injury in one playoff game. All right. So, at what are you going to upgrade the position? Are you No. Let me get back to the topic of Michael Parsons. Jerry Jones got so locked in on the personal thing that went on between him and Michael Parsons that he thinks a tie game makes up for the decision he made to trade him. Stephen A, I’m not talking about the agent and not meeting with him. I’m We in football season. Your defense has given up 40 points a game and you conceded in a tie with the Green Bay Packers and you want to tell Mad Dog Christopher Russo, Stephen A. Smith and Peter Shreger that you feel good about the trade cuz you tied with the team of the dudes you tra in the same breath his defense with the almighty Michael Parsons Green Bay’s defense gave up 40 but trades we watched Green Bay lose to Cleveland last week didn’t we everybody remember that this is football Jerry made this about Michael Parson’s trade and how it looks in a tie that you feel like what did we win is the question in that player’s ass. Did we win the game? No. But in his statement, he tried to suffice for that because Michael Parsons didn’t perform off the charts and they tied the team that they traded him to. He’s almost more happy that they tied great. That’s my point. If he would have played great and they won and they won, come on. My point though is the Michael Parson’s impact. Everybody seems to think that this is a huge development that he was going back to Dallas. I am telling you the average sports fan four weeks into the season. It’s about the court. They don’t care anymore. All right. I don’t care that Michael Parsons went back to Dallas. NBC on and on and on. Enough. All right. And not only that, as you just said, his defense stunk in a game and he never looked good in Dallas in big spots. This is not Brady going back to the freaking Patriots with six rings. I’m I’m disappointed that you’ve missed the narrative. You understand what you’re saying? You’ve been in this business too long to miss this. Watch the narrative. He’s a former cowboy going back to the Cowboys. And the Cowboys are the $13 billion iconic sports. No, no, no. Listen to me. If he was going back to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, if he was going to the Arizona Cardinal, nobody would say that. So, how are you missing that? Because it’s only three weeks he’s been away, Stephen. It’s not two years. His first appearance has been cursed. Unfortunately, much to my grin, if the Dallas Cowboys pass gas, they call it perfume. This is what they do. You everything everything. This is what they do. This is what they do when it when it comes to the Dallas Cowboys. Of course, they’re going to blow it up. This is a big deal. That’s all Stephen Knight saying. And now he would have been a tackle. That linebacker would have made the play on Prescott in overtime. We don’t know that. Oh, come on, Marcus. I don’t know it. You don’t know it. That linebacker is fast. He’s not like you. He’s fast. Just like you say. Just like you say, but Dak might have stiff armed them and not not a DB or he might have got hit and still got the ball to the goal line. Come on, man. He was close enough. Dak Dak is a big guy, Mad Dog. He would have had momentum going towards the big enough. He has played great. Yeah, he played Dak. Dak Dak has been fantastic, but it is the regular season. I’ve seen him fantastic before. As I pointed out, Dak Prescott right now Dak Prescott right now is at about 279 yards per game. At least two times in his career, he was over 300. All I’m trying to say to you is that we’ve seen he had his 278 season. What? We’ve seen him exceptional in the regular season. You haven’t? Well, what’s going to happen when January rolls around if they get the point there? Well, they ain’t getting there, but I’m just saying. I’m just being nice because it’s early. I’m just telling you, we have seen See, we’re just like you said up there and said, you know what, he’s playing out. We’ve seen him perform at an elite level in the regular season before. That is not new. We are not going to sit around this season acting like Dak Prescott is out of his mind. He played ball. What you going to do when the players arrive? Well, they’re not going to get a chance MVP for the regular season. I know that. So people around go get it. Go ahead and give it to him. Go ahead and give it to him. Go ahead and give it to him. He got a regular season with me. All he got is what’s going on right now. He’s playing as well as anybody right now. No, but you ain’t going y’all ain’t going What you’re not going to do not on first take. I don’t know about anywhere else, but not on first take. What you’re not going to do is talk about him and act like those regular season wins are tantamount to what really really counts. That has been the crit the criticism against him and we still wait. Oh, the brothers are the 29 games over 500. You can’t get to that point if he not playing well. But you know what? It’s like you going to say, you going to say Marcus Spears going to be here going like this brother playing out of his mind. Out of his bomb. And I’m going to go like this. Just wait. Absolutely right. Just wait. You understand? Say it ain’t here yet. We’ll see. We’ll see. Like this one. That’s what I’m going to do. Just wait. Be patient. Be patient. I told Cowboy fans, be patient. Just wait for it. It’s coming. Is Dak Stallach or Danny White? Danny White. Okay. [Music]

  1. The dude was something only because he played for Dallas and was a rookie when he had a good season. Other than that the dude is just a good talented player. Nothing more and there are better players than parsons.

  2. “Not worth the hype” sheesh, not like we’ve been saying this since the trade. Both teams went nowhere for now. They’re still the same before and after the trade. Cowboys have a chance to actually win this trade though. Which I called 😂 … as a football fan, I really hope they get some good draft picks out of it, as an eagles fan, It would be fkn hilarious if they just whiffed on their picks lmfaoo

  3. Micah Parsons is so overrated. He makes absolutely no difference on the field and it’s not hard to see but hey y’all have a nice day✌🏾

  4. So if he’s not a QB, we can’t celebrate a generational player at another position? The numbers already show Micah ahead of LT at this stage in his career, and he’s still getting better. LT didn’t win his first Super Bowl until his 5th season and finished with two total. I can see Micah putting up better numbers and winning more rings by the time it’s all said and done.

  5. Jerry doing again what he did with Jimmy Johnson again and again trying to act like he made the right choices when clearly he did not again and again. Dak played good because the wideouts played good not because DAK did everything because he never do everything like a duel QB do. Dak is always at the whelm of the Wideouts having better days

  6. All sports media does os slander, disrespect and talk down on black athletes! We never see white athletes get crucified in the media ever! Smh.. old media is a joke!

  7. JERRY JONES MADE A SECRET CALL & TOLD THEM TO TIE THE GAME…. HE DIDN'T WANNA LOSE TO PARSONS, HE RATHER A TIE…
HE DIDN'T WANT PARSON TO OUTSHINE & SHAME HIM @ HOME

  8. THE MEDIA IS SUCH A HYPOCRITE saying dak isn’t playing out of his mind cus your gonna say oh but let’s see him in the post season, LAMAR JACKSON PLAY WORST THAN DAK EVERY POST SEASON Jesus keep the same energy with other people that are doing the same thing

  9. I see why the Cowboys traded Micah, and it has nothing to do with talent. According to Mickey Spagnola, Cowboys beat writer, Spagnola, wrote "I don't want to get into too much details, but I understand why Micah was traded, I'll just leave it at this, Micah wasn't well liked in the locker room, he was perceived as selfish, there's other things, but I don't want to dive into it, I understand why Micah was traded". Remember, Micah first asked to be traded, than he demanded to be traded, finally, he told Jerry that all communications must through his agent and "take my number off your dial". After agreeing to his request, Micah plays the victim, that Jerry traded him, than he whines a out Jerry not being a man and looking him in the eyes to tell him he's being traded. The dude literally wants off the team, tells the owner to stopped communicating with him, than acting like it was all about him, he's the victim. Seeing how Micah's acting before and after the game, it's not hard to see why they agreed to trade him. Before some 9f yall argued that the Boys would have beaten the Packers with Micah, the Boys had Micah with a top 10 defense in 2024, the Packers put up 48points on Micah and the Boys in the Wild Card Round.

  10. Mad Dog is absolutely right. Irrelevant player irrelevant team. Had absolutely no impact on the game whatsoever so ever. And Dallas has been irrelevant for 30 years and counting. They should not be talked about, if that’s the case talk about Tennessee, Cleveland, and the jets too.

  11. Once again, the media disregarding the importance of the regular season journey. I hate it when we can't acknowledge a player's performance because of how the playoffs end. We are in the regular season right now.

  12. Get rid of AJ Brown. He was a whiny baby on a losing team and now again with a Superbowl contender every year. Give this dude the boot and tell him he can trade off to any team he requests. Tired of these exact dudes in the league. Yeah he will produce once he’s traded, but obviously he will roll into his standard role when the sizzle wears off and be what he is right now….. No.1 some games….. not No.1 other games.

And Marcus always having this…. Shut the white dude talking up is pissing me off. His not hearing it other than from SAS or himself is garbage. Just like the player he was in the NFL.

  13. People are not talking about he was having back pain in that game. This game was like a high profile playoff game because of the hype. Micah went ALL OUT and had a gimme sack. He will not play harder until the playoffs. And he usually wears down by game 12. Great trade Jerry. No go get Hendrickson from the Bengals. Give them a 1st rounder.😅😅😅 Lets go Boys!!!

  14. Jones don’t care about that 2 faced dude. In 1 breath he’ll say it’s not about the money, someone throws 40 mil a year for 5 years and you turn it down. You don’t need to be a financial advisor to know that’s a lot of money.

  15. As a brother it is always extremely embarrassing how Stephen A. goes out of his way to always Feel the need to mention that he loves jerry and kisses up to him. Reminds me of that small forest animal
