Pelletier and katchouk really impressed. Only 26 players remaining.

Forwards Dylan Duke, Scott Sabourin and Wojciech Stachowiak, along with defenseman Roman Schmidt, have been assigned to the Syracuse Crunch of the American Hockey League. Additionally, forwards Nicholas Abruzzese, Boris Katchouk and Jakob Pelletier have been placed on waivers for the purpose of assignment.
Bummer
I hope no one grabs pelltier
Really was hoping a Katchouk or Stachowiak were gonna push out Girgensons who was a bust last year. Seems Finley makes the roster until Paul is back anyways which is good.
Want Carlie and Crozier as pair three too. No more Lilleberg or he can be 7D
I’m worried about Pelletier!
Wow I can’t believe Pelletier got put on waivers. He looked like a solid development piece so I wouldn’t be surprised at all if someone else picked him up. I’ve been singing JBB’s praises lately but this seems dumb.
Dominic James gonna make the squad??
Players remaining:
– Jack Finley
– Dominic James
– Declan Carlile
– Max Crozier
– Brandon Halverson
I thought Stachowiak, Pelletier looked great, Katchouk just a shade beneath. But even with their absences, there is still a logjam for a final forward roster spot. Finley, Girgensons, Holmberg, and James will be fighting for I believe two spots. If we assume that Girgensons gets one spot by virtue of seniority, then that leaves one more. I like James’s speed and think it would be a major asset to a 4th line, but no doubt Holmberg is more experienced as a player especially in a depth role. Finley is a bit in the middle of both worlds.
On defence, they’re taking a good long look at whether Carlile (LD) can supplant Lilleberg, it seems. Crozier, being a RD, is behind Moser (playing his off-side with Hedman?), Cernak, and Raddysh on the depth chart. Perhaps Crozier being up still is a possible indication that they may want to have Moser on his own pairing on his strong side?
Halverson still being up is also intriguing for possibly alarming reasons, namely Vasy’s health. Probably precautionary just to see how Vasy feels after his presumable start against Florida for the final preseason game.
Did Geekie make the team can anyone confirm? I know he was sent down to the crunch last year and stayed way longer than anyone expected for the first half of the season. Didnt hear anything about him being back on the main roster
I hope Finley continues to stick around
Hope Duke gets another chance to come up this year. Saw him working out in Toronto in the off season and he’s really putting the time in.
Unlike recent years, Lightning have cap space to keep a couple extra players. With Paul out and Holmberg nursing an injury, I expect at least 2 forwards and 2 defensemen extra staying for a bit.
We knew there was only two spots and it was going to be tough seeing these guys go down.

They’ll come up again I suspect
