7 years ago today I knew our QB question was finally answered.

  1. This was the same moment for me. Most people believed the previous week, with the crazy TD against the Niners, but this was only 2 years removed from the Broncos dominating us at Mile High with Manning for so long. But to go in in primetime, down multiple scores at the end of the game, engineer *that* drive, and make *that* play? That was the moment I first began to believe.

  2. This was an unbelievable moment. I stood up out of my chair when it happened.

Another moment I remember from pre-season in Mahomes first season as a starter: the deep pass to Tyreek in the game against Atlanta. That pass made me draft Mahomes in the 15th round of my fantasy football league.

I am so thankful he’s our QB.

  3. Mine was a little earlier. It was this [moment](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZL6DXAxVMTk#t=1m15s).

The awareness, the check to make sure no one’s behind him, the off body throw, but still safe, right into Robinson’s hands.

    Insane.

Also knew he was tough as he got up from the hit after the throw and the guy that hit him got injured.

  4. I had a great feeling after he put up 10 TDs in the first two weeks, including a 6 TD day against a Steelers defense that always confounded Alex Smith.

This was his first true comeback win, though, so it was also nice. Shitting on the Broncos will never not be great.

  5. I remember watching it live and have seen it in highlights but somehow I forgot it happened in the final minutes of the game and we were down 3 points. Really puts it in perspective. That dancing pass to CEH at the back of the endzone and the over-the-head TD pass to McKinnon had much lower stakes.

  6. Total brag, but I knew from his first preseason game. He marched down the field with ease, like he had already been there before.

His first preseason rookie touchdown was a no look pass. It was just a few yards, but it showed me everything I needed to see for a QBs first drive.

Then I was thinking he was going to be Super Bowl good after the last game of his rookie year, and how he torched the Broncos with De~~nard~~marcus Robinson and a backup O-line.

  7. Any time there’s a first, that’s pretty cool. First time ive ever seen a QB throw it with their off hand. I knew right at this moment patty maho was different

  8. I wish I could find the clip but there’s an analyst talking about Mahomes around the draft and showing one of his left handed passes from college and they literally say “he’s not going to do that against Von Miller”

Part of me wonders if Petty Mahomes saw that and made sure it happened

  9. I need a compilation of all his stuff… I remember all of this, but it’s great to watch it over

  10. That was the first time in my life that I can remember a QB of ours pulling something like that off on prime time.

Then he did it again against the Ravens a few weeks later and that cemented it

  11. I have no receipts or proof but I told my friends he’d win us a Super Bowl as soon as I watched his tape from Texas tech the night he was drafted. I still have never seen another players highlights where it’s so obvious he’ll not only be elite in the nfl but a HOF level talent

  12. I was there! Still remember the broncos fans in front of me saying in disbelief, “Did he throw that with his left hand!?”. Mahomes later made one of those insane reverse field scrambles and hit, I believe, DeMarcus Robinson in the chest in the endzone only for it to be dropped.

  13. Nah I knew he was something when we beat the Steelers in week 2.

When Big Ben was playing we could never beat those guys and Mahomes dropped 50 on them

  14. It was the week before for me. The scrambling around and the throw to the back of the endzone. Still one of my favorite plays from Mahomes.

  15. For me it was his first start December 31, 2017 against the Broncos. I went out and traded for him in my Dynasty league after that first game.

  16. During halftime of our first Super Bowl appearance with Reid, my brother-in-law looks at me and says after we were down to the 49ers “We are going to Chiefs this up”.

In a defining moment of our relationship, I looked at him and said “Alan sit down and watch greatness, we have the one thing they don’t. We have Mahomes.”

  17. I’m saving this thread so I can watch this video and read through the comments when I’m sad 🥹

  18. I was at this game. On the opposite side of the rollout, I’ll never forget that moment. and my reaction “he went lefty ! he went lefty! what the fuck?! he went lefty!” My then gf was not amused. She’s someone else’s wife now. Great trip.
