I’ve watched enough Westbrook/Randle/Simmons offseason shooting videos to be very skeptical of this
Can’t even remember what his old form looked like. Looks like a higher release maybe?
Looks more fluid for sure.
What a franchise flex, you’re a new member of the Lakers like Jake LaRavia, and you look up in the practice facility and you just see a row of Larry O’Briens in the window. If that isn’t inspiring I don’t know what is.
just based on this clip, vando shooting form still does not look good.
Jake couldn’t make one to save a life
It’s not worth judging the shot until we see it across a decent sample size in actual games, but if Redick says he looks fit and healthy, and if he did work hard on his shooting over the summer, then I am excited to see that in action. JJ also mentioned that Vando was in a tough spot last season because he had to play the small 5 so much, so presumably this season he’ll be on perimeter defense and corner 3 duty a lot more.
Vando’s one of these rare players whose defense can actually on some nights make up for his lack of offense because his defense is legitimately that good, but to become playable in important games and the playoffs he needs to at least make some open 3s at a respectable clip. Same goes for Marcus Smart.
35% 3PT average would be good enough. Not asking for much.
Jake can’t hit a shot
Definitely smoother and it’s one motion now
Dont do the thing Lakers fans… dont you do the thing… you know what thing Im talking about…
hahaha i hope jake will no shoot bricks
Vando’s J looks smoother, but I need him to not hesitate to shoot that mf
We’ve seen this movie before……

TIL I shoot as well as LaRavia
Time to trade Jake and promote Dalton /s
He doesn’t even need to make 3s. He just needs to be able to make a layup or a put back dunk without getting stripped
If Chris Johnson fixed Vando jumper.. they should hire him if they could
We’re doing this again lol?
Why am I watching grown men play with balls?
(I have seen enough, Jake is washed, and Vando is the best 3&D in the league.)
{Hope all this translates well to the real games. The shot looks good but isn’t the most consistent by this shot look.}
A healthy Vando with a corner 3 would basically complete the roster aside from another back up center.
THIS IS WHAT I WANT TO SEE
Jake and Vando building a house of bricks.
I literally only care if he can play 65+ games and make layups at this point
Still a little too much hitch/hesitation in his shot. Look at JLR how his shot is so smooth.
Wtf, Jake???
I hope he’s practicing dunks too.. I can deal with missed 3s alot better than dude getting stuffed at the rim repeatedly
Now let’s see him do some lay ups
I’m tired of watching guys repeating bad habits over and over.
I understand that people’s scepticism but you’ve got to remember that this is the first offseason that Vandos been healthy. There’s a huge difference between working on your game and rehabbing. You can’t get into shape or work on your game while you’re rehabbing, it’s two completely different things. I have a great feeling about Vando this year, he’s gonna be great just you watch.
I don’t know what you people are looking at. This is not encouraging. Maybe he’ll hit a few more than last season but defenses can still ignore him on the perimeter.
Give me Vando 3nD
Lotta bricks we just witnessed
If Jake bricks this much during reg season…he’s out!
Omg
If Vando can hit those at a league average clip he is a championship level starter due to his already ELITE D
