Most underrated play of the night from Jazz here, obviously he didn’t get the out but he saved a run and kept the game tied.

  1. GREAT PLAY by Jazz. Saved the Yankees ass. He just has to stop with the crazy ass throws 😅. Throwing it off balanced like that almost cost us.

  2. Huge play. Also Volpe getting the high throw from Williams and turning the dp.

    Really good defense tonight.

  3. It’s refreshing to see some athleticism on this team. 2021 was rough with all of those right handed beefy sluggers who didn’t do much else besides hit the ball over the fence

  4. You can find it in the game thread – I was saying the stab saved a run before the commentators even got to it.

Not a play that will show on the score sheet in a big way, but people who saw it know

  5. Jazz did that and also had jets on his shoes to get the go ahead run. Never bench Jazz again!

  6. That was underrated? Everything and everyone I’ve watched is saying it saved their season. Great play in a huge spot

  7. Jazz needs to start eating those throws. He’s had too many of those go in the dugout. And dumbass Eduardo finally was able to pull the “inexperienced Ben Rice” card out of his notes. But Rice played it well. Yoshido slid, so Rice couldn’t feel how close he was to come off the bag. He was safe, but amazing stop.

  8. Saved the game. Red Sox still should have sent the runner but Jazz keeping that ball in the infield was critical.

  9. No Jazz or Rice the night before.
    See what I’m saying ?
Stanton is chomping at the bits, drooling even, man I can’t wait for him to tear the cover off !
    You know it’s coming !
    Go Yanks !

  10. The two bench boys won us the game. Jazz and rice. Boone is smoking crack. Those boys better be in the line up I dont care is prime Randy Johnson is pitching.

  11. defense was amazing tonight for the yankees.
That red sox first base coach was stupid saying to send the runner on 3rd. I wish they did, he would have been out by a mile

  12. Cora tried to get 2 innings from Whitlock and after throwing 47 pitches, it’s doubtful he will be available tonight.

  13. Infield has been fucking on point this series

Awesome to see Volpe playing in last years form defensively, that hesitation double play was a game changer

  14. And fuckin Eduardo Perez is fixated on Rice not blocking the throw. Jazz saves probably 2 runs here and gets no credit.

  15. This was the *same* spot Yoshida hit the ball, in the same way, the prior night. Jazz isn’t perfect with his defense, but he’ll put in 100% effort regardless. It can seem sloppy, but guy is physically talented.

Rosario arguably doesn’t make that play.

  16. I don’t think it’s underrated at all. A lot of people are saying that saved our season.

  17. The announcers literally didn’t acknowledge the importance of this play by Jazz until they were going to commercial break. They just kept repeating how risky it was for him to make that throw to first base. I thought I was going crazy

  18. Not taking away from Jazz… but bad baserunning from Boston there. Runner almost certainly could have scored from third when Rice bobbled the throw if he was a bit more alert.

Sometimes it helps to be both lucky and good.

  19. Jazz made a bad decision to throw to first. Not the first time. Run could have easily scored. Jazz has great athleticism but poor decision making.

  20. That play wasn’t underrated. All the reporting post game talked about how important that play was

  21. Bad base running by the Red Sox runner at third base, though, no reason he should not have kept running and and he would’ve scored easily.

  22. Great play, but he needs to eat that throw. It probably should have cost us a run, but the Sox were terrible on the bases.

  23. If Yoshida didn’t slide, his ass cheek isn’t there as a backstrop and Eaton scores.
