Austin Wells gives the Yankees a LATE LEAD in Game 2 of the AL Wild Card Series vs. the Red Sox 😲

Yankees have done their damage tonight. Both their rallies started with two outs and all four series runs have come with two outs. [Music] [Applause] Whitlock not especially quick to home play. He’s got pretty big leg kick. If Chisum gets a read, he should go. 31 steals for Jazz. That missed pretty badly on a change up. And Whitlock nods his head. Says, “Let me have the ball back. It’s two balls and no strikes.” All over it, but fouled. Yeah. Sinker in. Look, the reality is you got VP on deck. Whitlock doesn’t have to give in. Can play the matchup. Prefer to get Wells to chase. [Applause] Last time Whitlock threw this many pitches was June 23rd. 42 of them against the Angels. He did go that time and we are full. He is rested. Multiple innings was certainly part of what Kora expected out of him tonight. [Music] Surprised the outfield hasn’t taken a few steps back with two outs. 3-2 right here. Especially the chisel on the go. The 3-2 fouled off. He went with a 95 mph sinker. India set him up for a change up away. I would. Seventh pitch of the at bat coming to Austin Wells and he lines one into right field. Fair ball. Chism to third. He’s being waved. Eden coming home. Here’s the throw. He’s safe. And the Yankees have a lead on Austin Wells. Single and the speed of Chisum. A bang bang play and a great throw from Eaton. Tell you what, ball right on the corner. Nothing you can do if you’re eating. Throw it in. You cannot replace speed. And Jazz Chisum able to go with two outs on the pitch. change up. Beautiful slide. A two-out rally set up all via the walk. First run allowed by Whitlock in 14 games. And all these runs the Yankees have scored in this series have come with two outs. Getting the count to 3-2 and allowing Chisum to get a get a running lead was the key.

Austin Wells comes through with a go-ahead hit for the New York Yankees in the 8th inning of Game 2 of the 2025 AL Wild Card Series vs. the Boston Red Sox.

  1. I don't watch much baseball during the regular season. But what I've seen over the last two games are two pretty weak teams. Especially my favorite team, the Boston Red Sox. Weak hitters assisted by mediocre pitching. I doubt neither team will be the AL's representative in the World Series.

  2. They talk about all the BP Stanton is taking….maybe he's taking too MUCH. His swing looks tired. Chill till game time, bro….

  3. All the people who dumped on Jazz, at every chance they could — where you at now?
Jazz was part of several plays that were pivotal in this Yankees victory.

  4. This couldn't play out much better for the Blue Jays (without key players being injured…which I would never wish). But they still have to play the games.

  5. And that’s why u start ur best players in biggest games. No matter who is pitching. Jazz was hitless. He also made the 2 biggest plays of the game. It ain’t just about hitting.

  6. Jazz saved the day, Judgy with another multi hit game, Belli has been solid, Benny with dinger, and Volpe deserves a ton of credit. Dinger in the first game and was a part of a couple beautifully timed double plays! The boys got this! Lets send the deadsox home!

  7. Jazz Chisolm Jr overrated as bum he is he saved the yankees Season for one more night lol and even if they beat the Red Sox remember were without our best hitter Anthony and one of our better pitchers Golito Blue Jays will smash the Yankees if they advance facts.

  8. Bruh we're getting knocked out one way or another bc we're not beating the blue jays my friends tells me i dont have any faith but shiiihh it is what it iss yk

  9. When a player gets upset because he is not in the line-up and then gets a chance the next day. We'll 2 things can happen. 1) He falls on his face. 2) He shines and wins the game with a defensive gem and then an act of sheer hustle. The result: A rabid fan base goes crazy with emotion and rocks a stadium. 😊 Great Stuff Jazz!
