[Brian Baldinger] .@bears @raiders @theobenedet71 played every snap; LT & RT..not easy to do against MaddMaxx. Not always pretty….who cares….. Can we get a loud #dabears chant going for THEO THEO THEO. He deserves it. #BaldysBreakdowns

Excited for this dude!
I’ll take a guy who will get bulldozed but at least keep Caleb from getting hit
If he’s as good as Braxton in pass pro but gives a boost in the run game, major win for the team.
Those first two plays could have been holding calls. But still I appreciate his efforts and hope he can continue to hold his own. Even just being somewhat average would be a good deal.
I for one love our Canadian eagle.
Good leverage. Keeps his back straight. Footwork looks great.
One thing I think a lot of us Bears fans forget because we aren’t use to seeing it, is that players can be developed.
Theo appears to have some tools that can be developed.
Great block by Swift on that second to last play.
This is great. Love the enthusiasm!!!
He wasnt doing great against Crosby in first half. He had few good plays but overall he did better at LT & Ozzy outside of looking lost his first few plays handled Crosby much better
I’m sure Baldy’s cherry picking some of the better reps here, but his overall point is correct. He doesn’t need to be an All-Pro. As long as he can buy Caleb enough time, it’ll be good enough. And for being thrown into the fire against Maxx Crosby, he was decent enough at achieving that. So props to the Canadian Eagle.

“using all his length”. Poor Theo got the shortest arms in the league as a tackle.
Some dork in another post said this was a bad look.
A few tidbits on our new LT:
Benedet started every game in his four seasons at the University of British Columbia at right tackle, becoming the most decorated offensive lineman in Canadian university football history. The North Vancouver native is the first offensive player to win back-to-back J.P. Metras Trophies as the country’s top down lineman and secured first-team All-Canadian honours on both occasions.
The six-foot-seven, 295-pound blocker attended the East-West Shrine Bowl following the 2022 season but made a surprise decision to return to school and defer his draft year. Despite that fact, he impressed as the only U Sports representative, finishing as the fifth-highest-graded offensive lineman according to Pro Football Focus and becoming the only blocker to rate in the 75th percentile or above in all pass-set metrics.
That performance fueled NFL attention throughout his final university season, with a double-digit amount of NFL franchises visiting UBC’s campus last season as the Thunderbirds made a run to the Vanier Cup, losing to the University of Montreal Carabins. He attended the College Gridiron Showcase in January and was one of the most interviewed prospects, speaking with nearly every NFL team in attendance.[University of British Columbia OL Theo Benedet signs NFL undrafted free agent contract with Chicago Bears: sources](https://3downnation.com/2024/04/27/university-of-british-columbia-ol-theo-benedet-signs-nfl-undrafted-free-agent-contract-with-chicago-bears-sources/)
That subtle arm on the linebacker while already engaging in another block on that last play was some real dawg stuff
Theo was trash at RT. The entire second half was Ozzy at RT and we improved massively. At LT, maybe.
What if there was an Ohtani like guy that would revolutionized the game as a tackle and just followed a DE from left to right all day.
Gotta post it.

We’ve always wanted this guy to succeed.

Let’s fuckin go Theo!!!
he may not be able to stop crosby in his tracks, but he slowed him down just long enough to give caleb some time and that’s a damn good way to get the job done to me
Serious question… has any team had success starting a UDFA at LT?
