Maxey looked good this game. VJ has some good passes and quick decisions on drives. Some guys were really bad. Cool that the season is starting. No one got hurt
Number 14 sucks. Watching Walker play is kinda painful and I hate it. Edwards was… something. Thank god for Valdez Edgecombe
Exactly why securing Grimes as a trade chip needed to be priority 1 this offseason. Obviously 4 of our 6 best players were out but damn the back half of this roster fucking blows
VJ is not a primary ball handler type of playmaker but damn, he creates a lot through his drives, great vision for a player at this age
Well, let’s hope that George/Grimes/Embiid can shoot because that’s basically what we’re dependent on. The rest of the core can’t hit the side of a barn.
Man we are ass
I know it’s preseason but 3/35 from 3pt is just atrocious
They don’t have NBA starters starting will be a problem all year.
the priority for preseason is not and never will be winning. some bizarre lineups that will never see the light of day got thrown out today for the purpose of seeing how they’d go. it’s not worth getting worried over this stuff or judging the season by the preseason.
Was fun to see VJ, it looked he got tons of developments to make offensively but still looked way more disciplined than guys like edwards
Even if you get semi-regular Embiid (55 games, able to play going into the playoffs) and 60 or so games of PG, it’s not really being discussed how potentially weak the bench actually is.
Pretty much all the pressure to carry second unit scoring will be on McCain.
A sign of things to come lol
God I missed basketball
Year 10 of not having shooters around Joel Embiid!
Theres a lot to like from VJ, he will get more polished with time.
In midseason form already! LFG Sixers!
Think the only good takeaways from this game I saw were some of the passing flashes from Maxey and VJ, as well as the increased ball pressure on defense. Beyond that was a rough watch.
Edwards (holy shit he was ass) and Bona didn’t really seem to make much progress from their issues last year, while Broome and Sallis didn’t look like they even belonged on the court. VJ had some flashes but was more passive than I wanted. None of the guys you would think could play the 3 or 4 who played today looked good, best one was probably Barlow? and he got attacked pretty relentlessly by the Knicks starters on defense while not offering much on offense. Drummond and Gordon both still look old and washed.
Offensive scheme looked a bit different, they did prioritize advancing the ball quicker and less of the weave actions you saw last year, but didn’t look like they were incorporating any complicated second side actions. Hard to pull too much from that though with how many of your top offensive options you were missing and how bad a lot of these other guys are on offense.
I didn’t realize his name is Valdez.
we barely got any shooters and refused to pay one of our better shooters lmaoo. aside from VJ and some proven names and Jared this roster is ass
The Valdez era starts now. It’s not Maxeys team
Valdez Jr must be the leader to take you to promise land
The Prophet told yall
