ESPN NFL LIVE | Jayden Daniels And The Washington Commanders MUST Get BACK ON TRACK

He was a practice in full today, which tells you that he is expected to play on Sunday. He’s tracking to be ready, which is good news for the Commanders. He’s missed the last two games, but it looks like Jane Daniels now will be back for the Commanders this week after missing the two games with a knee sprain. The same might not be true of Terry McLaren. Terry McLaren dealing with injury right now, is not at practice today. Um, the commander said he’s trending the right way. We also have some breaking news. I want to just interrupt uh as we can do. Terry McClen, we’ll come to this at I guess at the end. Sorry to go off the rails here for Terry McLaren did not practice today. We’ll see if he does the 49ers have ruled. Okay, we’re talking about Washington Commanders. Jaden Daniels, I need to talk to you commanders fans right now. I need to have a real honest conversation with y’all because I’m starting to lose my mind with these conversations about the about Jaden Daniels specifically and the Commanders as a whole. Um, but before we do, I’m asking Commander fans to please subscribe and watch this video to the full length as it is the best possible way to support the growth of this channel. When you guys do that, we get big things happening. I mean, this is what happens. It is the best possible way to support the growth of this channel because I am trying to create an avalanche of a sports community here. I am trying to firmly root this channel in the sports talk world. Something that will truly become special. And when you guys watch the video, when you subscribe while watching this video, like this is what happens. This is what happens. I am trying to genuinely change things. I am going all in. I haven’t been able to ask the Commanders fans this, but I’m asking you right now. Please, please do it. I’m the one that said Jay Daniels was going to be special before he ever took a snap in the NFL. I’m the one that said that the Commanders were going to be a great team before Jane Daniels uh ever took a snap in the NFL. I’m the one that said Jane Daniels was going to ball out against Cincinnati Bengals on Monday Night Football. He did. I’m the one that said that Jane Daniels was going to beat Baker Bayfield on the road against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. I’m the one that said that Jane Daniels was going to ball out and beat the Detroit Lions on the road. Don’t forget that. Don’t forget that. I’m the one that said that Jane Daniels will be better than Lamar Jackson. I’m the one that said that Jane Daniels is the Jaden Daniels of the NFL, not the Lamar Jackson of the NFL. And that’s what’s starting to drive me crazy right now because Jane Daniels hasn’t been able to play right now. He’s been banged up. We saw the first couple of games to be in the beginning of the season and now everyone’s all low and off on Jane Daniels. Now we got the the the whispers. Caleb Williams is better than Jane Daniels and that he’s playing better than Jane Daniels right now because of stats. Oh gosh, stats drive me crazy sometimes. I’m forced to use them way more than I ever wanted to. In the beginning of this channel, I used to be like, “Ah, stats. I hate them. I hate them. I don’t want to use them. I don’t want to use them. I don’t want to use them. I don’t want to use them.” And then I realized like, well, can’t just show highlights all day. You can’t just, you know, even when you do show highlights or or specific things, it’s like it’s one play, two play, right? Like people always say when you use that sometimes the big go, it’s like you’re you’re you’re cherry-picking. Everyone loves that word cherry picking, cherry picking. And it’s like using kind of film to kind of highlight things is even more of a cherry picking because it’s like it’s one game, one play. I can show you an entire game where Garnu Mchu literally looks better than Patrick Mahomes, looks better than Tom Brady. And it’s like, you know, that’s that’s the heart of cherrypicking. And so, obviously, what every time you make a take, you can’t just go through a whole series of like a hundred different highlights. You can’t do that. Nobody even wants to watch that. And so, you have to use stats more and more. And it’s something that I’ve I’ve grown to accept, and I try my best to always add the context of to the best of my individual abilities. But right now, Jane Daniels doesn’t have the stats and we already forget about all the stats that he had last year and what he did. And so now you have people talking about like h I don’t know like Nick dropping him on the on the quarterback mountain. Um the the the the avalanche of people who are now trying to talk about um that he’s not the best playing the best in that at that quarterback class. And again, I believe in Bo Nicks. I believe in Caleb Williams. All of these things could be true and I’m excited to see what happens with JJ McCarthy, Drake May, Michael Pennix. Doesn’t mean we reject what we saw Jaden Daniels do. Doesn’t mean we deny what Jane Jane Daniels did. And it doesn’t mean that we now downplay like what he’s what he started to do this season. just because he didn’t start off the season throwing for 400 yards and rushing for 200 and having 10 touchdowns. Like like that’s the thing that just drives me crazy. And now he’s banged up and injured and it’s and it’s a bummer. And now it’s like I I you know I’m fearful. Not saying this is going to happen. Not saying I even believe it’s going to happen, but I’m fearful that he’s not that he’s not going to necessarily be able to hit the ground running because you’re shaking off a ton of rust in the beginning of a season and then now you get injured and now you’re behind. Now you’re out of sync with everyone else. Um, and it’s exactly what happened with Jordan Love and the Green Bay Packers. So, I’m really curious to see how he can be integrated. Obviously, he’s such a mobile quarterback. Now, I don’t think that’s the only thing that makes him special. I think what makes him special is actually more his arm than just his mobility, but obviously he he uses his legs a ton. Um, and now he has the lower body, you know, knee sprain, and I I don’t know how that changes his play. As I sneeze on the truth, I I don’t I don’t know what type of, you know, measures he’s going to take, um, what he’s looking to do, what type of plays Cliff Kingsbury is going to call, um, what Dan Quinn is going to say to Cliff Kingsbury. I don’t want him doing this. I don’t want him doing that. No, this is football. Let him do this. Let him do that. We have no idea. And anything that they even say out loud means nothing to me because it’s just like they they could say whatever they want. Like you got to have to see it. And so I I I don’t know what this is all going to look like right now. But um it’s frustrating. Like it’s it’s it’s pretty crazy um to hear like Jane Daniels is regressing sophomore slump. Like I just just like nonsense. Just things that are just so irritating. Do you realize these these were real Commanders fans? Go back to one of my previous videos. They said this is hard to set, you know, this is hard to admit, but Marcus Mariota runs the offense better than Jaden Daniels. It’s like, come on. The fact that anyone’s even comfortable saying something like that is pretty crazy. Listen, can he execute things like Marcus Mariota at a at a you know at a high level? Yeah, because he’s a seasoned veteran. Like that’s that’s like the one job as a backup quarterback, especially like an experienced backup quarterback to be able to do. And when you have someone like Jane Daniels who’s still learning in the NFL, who’s still growing and evolving, well then, yeah, I I I I I hope a more experienced veteran will be able to look, you know, I don’t want to say smoother at times, but just like they they got things under control. Because if they don’t, it’s they’re then they’re not then they’re not even good enough to be a backup quarterback, especially when you’ve already been in the NFL for years. So, it just just statements like that that pretty that pretty much are directly implying, hey, you know what? We’re probably actually better off with Marcus Mariota over Jayen Daniels. It’s just crazy to me. It’s just crazy to me. And considering that Jaden has the season that he had last year, okay, and then just has two games this year and then gets injured and now has to and missed a couple games and now it’s just like h I don’t know. Is Jane Daniels better than Baker Mayfield? Is Jane Daniels better than I don’t know, Kirk? Would this team be better with Kirk Cousins or Marcus Mariota? Like I don’t know. It’s just like what are we what are we doing? Like what like what what is this conversation? And it’s just it’s just it’s it’s obnoxious. It’s obnoxious because Jaden Daniels arrived last year and this team now is was going through some growing pains that it was having offensive line issues etc etc. Injuries now incorporating Debo Terry McLaren now injured. Um, Jaden obviously injured and like they use that now as this this stamp on Jaden Daniels and it it drives me personally crazy because I understand that Jaden hasn’t been in the NFL for like years and years and years and we haven’t seen him play at peak excellence for year after year after year and it and it is and it is where the Mahomes, the Josh Allens, Lamars that they deserve a ton of credit for being able to be that special year after year after year. And it is why I’m like, listen, I think Jane Daniels is elite. when we were having all the conversation about like where to put him in the rankings. They said, “Listen, if we looked at something on just an individual year basis and nothing to do with the past and nothing to do with predictions, like you would put Jane Daniels in the top category, but I understand for the sake of conversation why it makes sense to just leave him below those other quarterbacks because those quarterbacks have proven to be able to do this year after year after year, which is, you know, that that that that really is the difference between greatness.” Just to kind of use that Marcus Mary uh the the Gardner Mchu example, it’s like what makes someone truly special is their ability to be that special more often than not. Whereas we got plenty of backup quarterbacks throughout the NFL, like a Marcus Mariota even that can show you some really high special moments. Marcus Mariota made some really nice plays even against the Falcons and you’re like that’s great. That was a nice play. That was a great decision. Great throw. Great whatever. And it’s like, but does he have the ability to do it game after game after game or at least 90% of the time? Because it’s not even like Mahomes and Allen do it every single time. It’s just that they do it significantly more often than not. That’s usually a big level of difference between even a Dak Prescott and a Josh Allen, a Patrick Mahomes and uh a Baker Mayfield. You know, it’s just it’s just how what degree of regularity can you be special? can you be great? Can you be at your peak? Um, and so that’s to me was the only thing that Jane Daniels has to just show that he can do. And now again, of course, it gets disrupted with injuries to himself and the team. Um, but it’s like I’m not seeing him get any benefit of the doubt. And again, I I find that frustrating. And I find it frustrating that someone like Nick Ray is comfortable saying, “Oh, you know, Caleb Williams has been the best quarterback in that draft class.” And it’s like because he was able to throw to wide openen receivers all day against the Dallas Cowboys. And that now somehow erases everything else Jaden Daniels has done. And it’s just like I I don’t know. I just it’s just I just I just don’t see how that really makes sense. And so it’s irritating. We haven’t even been able to really talk about the Commanders as much. Um so Jayden Daniels needs to get reintegrated with this offense. They got to get that chemistry back up. Cliff Kingsbury’s got to get in his bag. Uh, got to keep Jaden comfortable, safe, upright, healthy, so he can be great on the field and remind everyone who Jaden Daniels is. But those are just my thoughts. I’d absolutely love to hear yours. What do you guys all think about Jayen Daniels and the Washington Commanders? Uh, and the momentum that they need to start they need to start building. Let me know in the comments below. I read every single comment. And so whether you agree with me or disagree with me, either way, let’s get in some discussions. Let’s get in some fights, but ultimately let’s just have some fun. And please do consider subscribing. We are building an amazing community here and absolutely love to see you part of it. I want to build something that we all generally feel connected to. Something that we’re really excited to be part of. I think we’re well on our way to doing it. Please don’t forget to give this video a thumbs up as it really does help with the visibility and the algorithm. Thank you so much. See you next time.

  1. The first observation I have about this year (admittedly a small sample size) is that the first two games of the season were both against very good defenses. I mean, Jayden put up 21 points against the Giants, Mahomes put up 22. That's good company. The Packers are weird, since they show all signs of being a top 5 defense but then let Dallas put up 40. But I still think it's fair to say they are a top 5 defense. Terry's hold "in" didn't help things in terms of coming out of pre-season with momentum. But one thing, actually, that I feel like I haven't heard anyone talking about is Kliff's play-calling. To me it seems more predictable this year than last year. Now maybe it's because the league has studied Kliff more. But I don't think so. I feel like his play-calling is just a lot more conservative this year for some reason. And I'm not sure why. Might be a side effect of the o-line changes, Conerly being a rookie, etc.

  2. Ppl already had the preconceived belief that JD was gonna have a slump & wit how Awful CJ has looked they keep tryna make that comparison we get healthy we’ll be just fine

  3. The biggest attributes for Jayden even more than his talent & skill & an even bigger indication of his future more so than talent imo, is his maturity, work ethic, & football acumen. He’s the guy noted by his own team to be the first one in the building, he’s the guy that’s dove deep into innovative football training tech like VR simulations getting constant mental practice healthy or injured. He’s the guy that despite breaking records, winning awards, over season becoming the FACE of a Multi billion dollar organization & Still just gives all his credit in EVERY interview to god. This level of maturity is why it’s so easy for me to believe fully that Jayden’s rookie year success is no flash in the pan, but a mere preview of what’s Jaydens capable of.

  4. Marcus did an admirable job for two games. He's not, nor will he ever be, Jayden Daniels. Jayden's not going to look like he did last year for a little while as he reacclimates himself to the speed, timing, etc. etc. As great as he is, it's unrealistic to think or to say that he'll be 100% right out of the gate in LA. He'll do Jayden things and it's going to be wonderful having him back, but anyone expecting last year's Superman right away is kidding themselves. And getting down on him if he's not Superman this Sunday is unfair to Jayden.

  5. All I said was bro let's possibly split 2 games and let Marrriota play, we paid him for a reason. I'm not willing to risk our future just to look good rn. I said I wanted Joe Witt Jr and Lattimore to be the first ppl to speak at the podium, I didn't call for their jobs yet. I didn't think it be a thing but I guess a lot of ppl bought homeboys Jumping to Conclusions mat from Office Space. Iykyk

  6. Brings up Caleb unprompted to discredit his performance thus far, while completely ignoring his output…claims to not be a hater. 😂😂🤣

  8. JD is STILL an incredible QB but your best ability is availability.

For Nick to say that Caleb is better than him right now is another insane comment from him which isn’t surprising.
This year it’s honestly getting harder to listen to him, Colin and John.

  9. Last I checked Jayden to us one game from the SB and he would have pulled it off if the bone heads didn't fumble the game away.
Oh wait didn't Caleb lose 10 in a row after Jayden de – pants him in Washington on a Hail Mary.
    Enough said.

  10. Nick wrong is a joke he is a walking talking double standard he will do and say anything to help his narrative it’s sad as life long long redskins fan that has seen every snap this team has played either in person or from home since 1988 !!!what I’m trying to say is I don’t care what anyone says about this incredible young man what I no for a fact is that everyday I wake up I’m happier every bite of food tastes better it’s almost impossible to upset me I couldn’t be happier about the direction of this franchise I love more then anything besides family and friends all of that is because of Jayden Daniels and we are only in the infancy of his future Super Bowl MVP YELLOW JACKET career thanks for always having JD5 back but the standard Jayden has set for himself is way higher then u and I or every talking head could set I have been waiting over 35 years for him and it was worth the wait that’s how special of a young man were dealing with
