NO Benefit to FIRING Brian Callahan Right Now

What benefit are you getting by firing him now other than just having the pound of flesh and feeling good that you went on the internet and complained about him and now he’s gone? And so now you’re in a situation where you got an interim coach the rest of the year. I don’t think there’s somebody on that staff who you would say is in a lot of demand to become a head coach. So you’re playing out the string with an interim coach. It might not be the best situation for your players to be in that situation because now you’re stretching a staff that was already young, thin. Are you able to develop players at the same level? Are you able to give Cam Ward everything he needs as a young quarterback? I I’m not saying Brian Callahan is is is John Madden out there as a head coach. What I am saying is I don’t think there’s a huge benefit to firing him. And I think there could be a benefit to riding this out with him where if you do corn turn a corner, you you got a promising young coach who again was very well respected across the league and maybe you’ll benefit from seeing that growth that growth period through with Yeah.

  1. As a Bears fan, we had a similar problem last year. You fire the head coach to send the message to the locker room, incompetency will not be tolerated at any level. Bad players get cut. Bad coaches get fired. The season is already lost and you’re playing for another top draft pick anyway.
